Best Wii games for 8 year old

What are some of the games that a 8 year old boy would like for the new Wii he's getting for Christmas?Already purchased the Wii and it has a sports game,etc with it (not the Resort game) and I know it comes with the thing to do driving games,but its not on the sport game thats included and would like to know which games to do racing would be good for his age or a little older?Also if you purchase the new Resort game,does it come with some kind of new control?One last question,who sells the games the cheapest (besides always watching the sale papers)?Thanks

My 7 year old LOVES resort. It comes with 1 controler attachment and we purchased another. Mario cart is another favorite. Our entire family, including grandma and grandpa enjoy the Wii

Mario Kart is fun, so is Boom Blox (it's kind of a physics game where you topple towers and make them go BOOM). There's also a bunch of different Lego games (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, etc) that I know my neighbor kids like. Some of those have been out awhile so they may be more affordable.

Every day Amazon has a 'deal of the day' with different video games, I check it often to see what they're offering; sometimes the price is very good. I expect that closer to Christmas there'll be lot of B2G1 sales at Target and TRU since video games tend to be pricey.

Mario Kart is a really fun driving game for an 8yo. My son loves it!

(You can race a car, a motorcycle and even a tricycle.)

My 8 year old son's absolute favorite Wii game is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He and all of his friends play it for hours. I don't understand the game at all, but those boys just love it. Another game, which isn't a fighting game, is Animal Crossing: City Folk. My son love to check in on his "guy" daily to see what new things come up in the town. Mario Kart is a good game if your son likes car racing games - it comes with a steering wheel to fit the Wii remote into. Good luck finding some fun games for your son.

I'm sitting here with my 8 year old son. He plays MarioKart with the steering wheel. He also likes Family Game Night, SuperMario Galaxy, Lego Starwars Complete Sage, actually all the Lego games are good, and De Blob.
We don't have the new sports game, but I'm sure it will be on his list for Christmas. I watch the adds and buy the games when they are on sale if possible. I buy at Target, Best Buy, and sometimes ToysRUs. I use my customer cards at ToysRUs and Best Buy to help money wise. Generally, the stores are very close in price, but Target and Best Buy are the place I go to the most. My kids also enjoy Wii Fit.

My ds8 just got the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on Saturday and he loves that game. He also likes Mario Kart, Wii Fit (he spends hours doing the yoga and strength exercises), Carnival Games and Sports.

same here makes no sense to me but the boys love it!

All the AC games are great non violent games and most play on the Wii.

Spongebob games are fun.

My kids, around your sons age, love supermario galaxy, mario kart, legos indiana jones and go through occasional spurts of outdoor challenge. I like that one as it keeps their bodies moving, and I mean really moving.

These are probably some of my 7 year olds favorites as well. He also liked the game Elebits & Mario Party. There is supposed to be a new Super Mario Brothers game coming out later this year that he is really excited about also.

I agree with the suggestions already made, the Lego games and Mario Kart are very popular with my 8-year old. For newer games, Costco generally has the best prices (43.xx for $50 games). We're eagerly waiting for Toy Story Mania to come out next month, I'm pretty sure my kids are going to love it.

Pick up the thing called Wii Play. It has a bunch of fun games with it and you get another controller.

I really like Mario Kart. If you have wireless internet in your house, you can set up for that and race others from around the world (no interaction other than racing)...or you can set up your friends, too.

My son just turned 8 in June and he loves Mario Kart and anything sports related. His favorite sports games are: MLB 2k8(baseball) , NHL 2k9 (hockey), MLB 2k9 (baseball), Madden 09 (football), PinBusters (Bowling) and Mario Super Sluggers (baseball). He also likes Animal Crossing.

My 8-yo likes Mario Kart, and the Lego games...Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones are the two he has, I don't know if there are more. He also likes Mario Party 8. I asked him, and he said his favorite is the Lego Star Wars Complete Saga (I don't know if the "complete saga" thing is different that something else or not).

Hi My Ds are 7 and 9. They love Lego Star wars the complete saga, Lego Indiana Jones and Mario Kart. What I have found with games is listen to what they say they want. I have bought games that I think look neat and they just don't get played.

Super Monkey Balls Banana Blitz

It is a bunch of short skill games, there are probably 40 different things to do on the game. This is helpful, if you limit the Wii time. Some of the games are so involved it would be hard to limit their usage to 30 minutes a day.

We also like the Wii Fit games, and it is like sneaking in exercise.

The disk that comes with the Wii has bowling. Our house has had some pretty involved bowling tournaments.
