Best WDW feeling

On our trip, my best feeling was on our first day when we walked into the MK! It was our first trip and walking through there and it was such a beautiful day with Characters greeting all the kids, and then our first look down mainstreet! WOW! That was just an amazing feeling! I got all teary eyed and told dh I never wanted to leave..lol It was truely amazing. That feeling just did not hit me until that moment. I was excited at check in, and excited at the first sight of our room and all..but man, being on MS USA is amazing!!

Oh how I wish I were there now.

I think I agree with "jenny2" about the anticipation of the trip is ALMOST as exciting as the trip itself. I live in NewYork and unfortunately aren't one of the lucky ones who gets to go once a year or more. Our last trip was in May 2003 at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and we planned for that trip for 2 years..... We had a binder with clippings and things we wanted to do, etc.... and saving for it was also fun, (yes, saving was fun, which is normally not like me at all !) But I think arriving in the Orlando Airport has to be one of my favorite feelings with WDW. The shops and everything is so DISNEY......... The smell of the airport, waiting for the shuttle to take us off to the magic.......................................I could go on forever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before we go away to a new place we go to the mall and pick out a lotion to go along with the vacation. The key is finding a smell that fits that particular vacation. We then pack it away. We do not use it till we get to where we are going. Then when we get to our hotel we start using the lotion the entire time we are away. When we return we then put the lotion away for at least a month or two. When ever we want to get the vacation feeling we pull out the lotion and smell it while we watch the video or flip through pictures. When ever I pull out the "Disney" (that's what we call it) lotion it takes us right back to the world!! Heaven!!

Well we live in CA so we go to Disneyland more than DW but either one I think it starts when you get into the airport. Even at the airport at home knowing where you are headed and then once you arrive. And then for us the drive to our hotel is always exciting cuz of the anticipation.

Usually when we go to Disneyland it is only an hour flight and we very rarely go to the park the same day cuz we fly in in the late afternoon or evening but we always HAVE to go to downtown disney and have dinner and check out world of disney for our first souvenirs.

And I confer with everyone who said that when you first walk into the MK it is just magical. I love ALL the parks but there is nothing that beats the MK. SOOO many fond memories from childhood and just the sheer magic of it all. LOVE it!!

I can't imagine how anyone wouldn't LOVE Disney World, but I know people who come back and say they didn't have fun or that it was just okay. Weird... Me on the other hand, I get all misty-eyed just reading your posts. My ultimate, "best WDW feeling" was when we stepped out on the balcony of our Contemporary tower room the night of our arrival last December and saw the Castle lit up with the changing colors and Space Mountain almost close enough to touch and the little rocket ships of the Astro orbiter making the rounds. Never mind "misty-eyed"---I just bawled! We had been to WDW before but never stayed on property. I may never be able to afford the Contemporary Tower again, but that feeling will be with me forever. Oh--my DH doesn't know it yet, but we WILL go be going back again--soon--and on property(probably value, but that's is fine with me)

I like seeing the monorail block the entrance of MK... then as it glides past seeing the Steam Train in the station :)

My DW and I feel like our everyday life is very hectic and stressful. For us everytrip to WDW starts with the Magic Kingdom. When we enter amd walk down Main Street we feel our heart rate slow down and a "peaceful, easy feeling" come over us.

We are really on vacation there.

I can't wait to go back there this Christmas.
:goodvibes :moped:

What a great thread! Ok here's mine and I have so many:

-Waking up the first morning and taking a few seconds before you realize you're at Disney

-Walking around a resort at night (especially Poly and POR) and hearing the crickets (at least I hope that's what they are :) ) and smelling the beautiful clean air and just feeling like you want to hide in a bush and maybe no one would ever find you

-Watching Spectromagic at the beginning and getting a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes

-Riding TTA and looking around MK and wondering if you ducked down when it went by the loading area if anybody would ever find you and thinking how peaceful it would be to live in MK

-Riding Splash and looking around at the smiles on my parents' and brother's faces and knowing someday these people may not be here but this memory will forever be in my heart and mind

-Laughing at my dad clinging for dear life on to the light pole at MK on our last night there because he doesn't want to leave.

-Illuminations! I cry every time. It is the most spectacular firework show I have ever seen. I think I cry more at WDW than I do the whole year.

-The ultimate best feeling is walking in to whatever park on the first day knowing your vacation has just begun!

Spectro ,walking down main looking at the castle, The WELCOME HOME we get at the resort (got to love that DVC) fireworks from the balcony at BCV.

Also love the look on my kids face better yet the look of the first timer. :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Laughing so hard your sides hurt at the Adventurers Club.

There are so many. My DD says she knows that she is in the World the moment we get out of the car or limo or whatever by the smell. A mixture of oranges, magnolias and cinnamon!!! :goodvibes

Walking out the lobby back doors of the Beach Club, Crescent Lake straight ahead and turn left to IG at Epcot!! Let the fun begin!! :drinking1

 That is awesome, I love that little area of Epcot, right after going thru the ticket area from BCV walkway. It is so quiet and serene just before getting to the bridge going into England.

MK and MGM at night are fantastic!

I love MK view of Main street with the castle in the background and all the shops on both sides......Wish I was there now!

Now you have me all teary-eyed! :sad1:

My best WDW feeling is when the vacation is thru, I've stayed on budget or below budget. :cool1:

Watching the kids' faces "light up" when they spot one of the characters.

I'd have to say mine would be watching the opening ceremony at MK, and doing the countdown with Mickey! Gets me all teary eyed everytime!
