Best way to prevent blisters?

We moved from shoes to Teva sandals and threw away our moleskin.

However, when we did need blister aids, we used "toe tubes". They are little padded tubes that you cut to size and put over your toe - they work particularly well on pinkie toes. Available at Wal-greens, probably others.

Hopefully we can buy some Bodyglide and Moleskin at Publix when we get there! Never heard of bodyglide before, but it's now on my list of grocery stop must have items :Pinkbounc !

I don't think you'll find the Bodyglide at Publix or a drug store. You'll probably need to go to a sporting goods store to get it as it was originally marketed to marathon runners to prevent chafing on long runs. Try REI, Galyans and maybe Sports Authority or Sportmart. I see you're leaving soon, you may still have time to order it on-line, too.
Not sure if the Publix will have the moleskin as their line of health and beauty items is somewhat limited. Any drugstore or mass merchandise store like Target or Walmart should carry it. The package is pretty small; you might want to buy the moleskin before you leave and just pack it. Don't forget scissors if you don't precut them at home!

Is it possible to use both the moleskin and Body Glide at the same time? How good does the moleskin stay on?

IMHO, it's one or the other. Bodyglide stops friction of your foot rubbing the shoe and so does moleskin. I just don't see any point to do both and I don't think the moleskin will stick well after you've rubbed Bodyglide on your feet.

If you use Bodyglide or Blistershield on your feet, I really doubt you'll ever need moleskins again. I brought some just in case and never had to use it!!!!:teeth:

Makes sense. Thanks!

For the 1st time, I didn't get a single blister last trip!

I alternated between 2 pairs of Berkenstocks and 1 pair of sneakers. I bought my sneakers 1/2 size larger to prevent rubbing (which is what causes blisters.)

I found Body Glide at EMS store at the mall. It was right under the display of running shoes/sandals. I'm looking forward to trying it, not only on my feet, but under my bra band,. where I often get chafed after perspiring.
