Best way to keep Aliner in the garage?

Hi everyone! This is just my 2nd posting on the Camping Board & I have one question.

My parents recently (about 3 weeks ago) bought an Aliner. In between their weekend camping trips, they have been keeping it in their garage with the windows open. It's been really hot here this week (95 degrees) and also humid.

She is wondering if she should have the windows open, closed, or does it matter? She thinks maybe it's developing an odor, but she's not sure. Any advice anyone can give is greatly appreciated. My parents are relatively new to camping.

I keep the top vents open on ours, otherwise it does seem to get kinda muggy in there. It sits outside, though.

I would leave it open and put some damp rid in there.

I agree - crack the vents and use damprid.

I store my camper in the garage. I leave the windows open with the vent fan running. (I leave it plugged in all the time.)

1/4 cup of bleach in a gallon of water. Put it in a spray bottle. It will kill the mold.

Mold and mildew have been unwelcome visitors for us in Nashville since the flooding in early May. I can tell you what we have learned for remediating.

For minor, isolated instances of mildew on hard surfaces, try using a mixture of 1/2 cup bleach to a gallon of water. Spray on and wipe down. Of course, if you have growth on materials which would be damaged by bleach don't use this method.

If you have more serious growth of mildew or mold, look for a Microban spray and follow the directions on the container. A lot of my neighbors and us have had good results with Microban where mildew was growing in damp crawlspaces after the flood.

Overall, the key is fresh airflow and the elimination of moisture. Once you eliminate the mildew, keep some air flowing and use the damprid like Denise suggested. You should be good to go.
