We just bought a BWV resale. On our last trip in April, we left Epcot and checked out BCV's and BWV's to see how close the walk really was.

Can someone tell me how close the walk? boat? or whatever transportation would be needed to get from Hollywood Studios to BWV's?

Transportation is by boat - on return trip to BWV it is usually quicker to get off at Swan/Dolphin dock and walk back to BWV because BWV will be last stop after S/D & YC/BC dock. Depending upon what part of BWV you are located; it may be quicker to walk to DHS ( standard view villas are quicker walk ) - - overall about 10 minute walk.

It's a 1.2 mile walk from BWV/BCV to DHS. We've done it...not wise! :sad2:
We didn't realize how long the walk actually was. The boats are your best mode and if the weather is bad and the boats are stopped, they will run buses. Walking to Epcot is far easier than walking to DHS, IMHO.

1.2 miles is about right for DHS to BCV. The BWV are closer - a bit under 3/4 mile. A very reasonable walking distance for many families. And unless a boat is right there, it's probably at least as quick to walk.

We have rode the boat and walked the boat is more peaceful, but we walked it ,and it wasn't that bad. My husband loves to stay at the BWV b/c he loves where it is at. At night sometimes he would jog to Hollywood studios and ride Rock and Roll Rollercoster until the park closed.

Even a moderate pace, you can beat the boat by walking, because it stops at Swan/Dolphin first. Another choice is to take the boat to S/D, then get off and walk over the bridge and you're right at the Villas side of the Boardwalk.

So from the Boardwalk you can take a boat to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios:confused3 I never realized this.

Yes, the usual boat route is:

Epcot
Boardwalk
Yacht & Beach Club
Swan & Dolphin
DHS
Swan & Dolphin
Yacht & Beach Club
Boardwalk
Epcot

They usually run every 20 minutes.

It's a nice, pleasant walk...and quicker than the boat.

It's not the distance of the walk that'll get you.
It just depends on the season.
The first time we walked it was during Star Wars Weekends, 2007. At the end of June.
It was brutally hot, and the walk was miserable. And because of the heat it seemed to take forever.

But in April its a very pleasant stroll.

It's not that bad of a walk(we've walked from both BWV and BCV).

We've beaten the boat back to BCV after Fantasmic once.

And this is with an 8 and 12 yr old and we all have to keep up with DH, who's 6'4" and walks fast.

But then again, we used the stairs up and down when we had a 5th floor room at BWV.

I'm an old woman of 58 and it takes me about 15 minutes to walk from BWV to DHS.

It is a pretty fast walk 10 to 20 min as most. But it is true the season will affect you. We walked on a sunny day in Febuary so it was great August is a whole diff. story

Both in our 50s and always walk from BWV to DHS and EPCOT. We would take the boat if it was raining, but we like the walk. Generally is takes just 10-15 minutes.

Some of the rooms in the Boardwalk Villas are very close to DHS if you're willing to take the stairs down instead of walking back to the elevator lobby. We always walk it, although we try to go to WDW when it is not particularly hot outside. We had a lovely walk just two weeks ago (admittedly, we got sprinkled on), and saw several different kinds of birds and a couple of bunnies.
