best value souvenir

I like the mugs as well, once our collection got to 20 I had to downsize! I also like the popcorn buckets to use at home too.

Christmas ornament/decor for me too. I bought a hidden Mickey silver star tree topper on our first family Disney trip and ornaments for the kids, that they can take when they move out (in another 12-15 years). I also bought the Mickey and Gang Christmas plate/cup for Santa that we use every year. This past May, I bought another ornament for our tree--and an ornament each for the kids of the character they enjoyed meeting the most on the trip. "Peter Pan" and "Ariel" sent them;) to the kids right before Christmas, so they could remember meeting them. I also wrote the year in Sharpie on the bottom.

But--I also love the silhouette cutouts that we had made at Downtown Disney. DD and DS were 3 and 18 months at that time. They are framed on my entry room wall, so I see them everyday. Not only reminds me of our trip--but how precious my little babies were. I think I paid $12/piece (which got me 3 cut outs of each kid), but they are priceless to me.

Where at DTD do you do the silhouettes? I would love to have done for my kids. Also is there a caricature artist there?

There was a little open air kiosk thing--somewhat close to Goofy's candy store. The kids sat there for about 3-4 mins while he used scissors to cut the silhouette as their profile. DD had a little bow in the front of her hair and has ringlets--and he did great capturing both of those details. I absolutely love them! I didn't see a caricature artist at that kiosk but that was in 2009.

ASMO had someone come in the evenings, but that has been a long time ago since we stayed there. Probably 10 years at least.

My daughter has ringlets too and I think it would be cute to capture them. Thanks for the info! So excited only 35 more days :)

We love our popcorn buckets, and we buy a personalized ornament with the year on every trip. But my favorite souvenir is our poster sized ride photos. We have 2 hanging in the playroom. We never bought ride photos, but about 4 years ago we discovered the posters on splash mountain and Everest. They make me happy every time I look at them! I'm not sure they are available anymore because last year we tried to buy one at splash (that had DD5 in the picture now), and they didn't offer the poster. I plan on checking every ride this June. I have room for one more on the wall, and I really want one with all 5 of us now that DD is old enough to ride too.

Not sure if they still have these, but my most useful (and cheap) souvenir was the Water Bottle Strap for $2-3. Not only does it make carrying around a bottle easy, I have used them as a camera strap, tied it to a smaller bag of
something I purchased, toddlers drink cup or just about anything you don't want to hold in your hand.

They came in several different designs and we really enjoyed using them at home following the trip.

So do they still sell these?

Beach towel (our last visit was the beach towel from Splash Mtn) and a Christmas ornament bought at the Christmas Shoppe in MK, Germany or DTD for our tree. :thumbsup2

Souvenirs that have been the best value to us are refrigerator magnets (we never seem to have enough of these), beach towels, and Christmas tree ornaments (can never have enough of those!) We try to avoid buying t shirts, mugs, and plush stuffed animals.

I have purchased 4 vinylmations at the Disney store for 2.99/ea. I plan to give 2 to each daughter to trade during our may trip. They love the vinylmations and I thought this would be a fun and cheap way to bring a few more home.

DH and I LOOOOVE our lanyards. They are pin trading lanyards that we use for our car/house keys. It's nice because we never get our keys mixed up. I have the nerdy characters (since Feb 11) and DH got his Star Wars Disney character one on the DisneyMoon in July! I think they were $8.00?! And we use them every day!

Also we loved our refillable mugs, but after only a few months at home we had to retire them because they started looking icky after every day use and washings! Definitely worth the buy though! :sad1:

my favorite souvenir has got to be antenna toppers. they're only about $3.00, and i can use them year-round. don't get me wrong, i love my Christmas ornaments, but i only get to enjoy them about 5 weeks out of the year. i have a gallon ziploc bag that's about 2/3 full of antenna toppers, and i can swap them out whenever i want, all year long. LOVE 'em.

They have little plastic cats and owls for good luck in Japan at Epcot for about $4 each. Each color corresponds with a different good luck theme ie health or happiness
I love those! I get one every trip.:goodvibes

Last May, my sister and I both bought the special Epcot exclusive perfumes at Givenchy. A little goes a long way so we both still have plenty left. I'm also a fan of coffee mugs and kitchen stuff.

Disney Dooney and Bourke purses. Not cheap but something of good quality that you can treaure forever.

Has anyone mentioned the KTTW cards, or the Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom playing cards? I collect all our KTTW cards and we also collect the playing cards, those are pretty much free. We've got at least 120+ playing cards :) I think we're going to buy one of the home game packs from the gift shop so we can play at home.

Another vote for the refillable mugs. I also like a nice t-shirt or hoodie.
