Best transportation from airport?

Leaving next week for our first time at Universal! Is Uber the best (quickest) way to get to the resort from the airport?

I'd say so, yes. I mean there are cabs lined up too that you could grab but Uber (or lyft) will likely be significantly cheaper too.

Now that Mears has taken over the Universal's SuperStar Shuttle service, it'll be more comparable to Disney's Magical Express but on a smaller scale. That said, it's a little pricey.
Uber or Lyft will likely end up being less expensive, although you'll need an XL if there are more than three people.

Tony Hind can’t be beat. Michael one of his drivers picked us up yesterday and asked if alright we rode in a limo as he us another pickup after us. Family was stoked. Big stretch limo to universal portofino. Best service ever.
