it to be cooler than normal, i 'd rather walk around wdw with jacket on than be too hot also when there are almost no crowds, as i will have 1 yr old grandson with me, thank you

disneydeb,

The first two weeks of December is the best time to go in my opinion. The weather is cool, the crowds are light, and Christmas decorations make this time of year really special.

Steven Barrett, author of the "Hassle-Free Walt Disney World Vacation" and the "Hidden Mickeys of Walt Disney World" book, both books published by The Intrepid Traveler Publishers.

thanks if you had to pick either the 1st or 2nd week of december which one would you pick?

Either one should be good, but remember that the Sunday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 30 this year) is the busiest travel day of the year all over the US, so wait until at least Monday to go!

As an alternative, all of January and half of February are good too (gets crowded for President's Week) but the holiday decorations are gone.

I would go the 2nd week in December since Thanksgiving is so late this year. Plus you will have more of a Christmas feel. You might want to check out Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We went in December 2000 and the weather was VERY cool. Make sure to bring warm clothes and blankets for the little one, especially in the evenings.

We went a couple of years ago in mid Dec. It was great if you would like it a little cooler. We didn't get a chance to go swimming because it was to cool. My DH and I wore jeans a lot of the days with just t-shirts but our 1 yro (at the time) DD wore pants and a jacket most of the time. Also make sure you have warm clothes for any nighttime activities I remember one night it dropped down to about 40. My DH had to bring our DD back to the room while i shopped Downtown. Most nights were about 55. It was nice if you would like it cooler.

Gets our vote we have been to WDW first part of December each year since 1992.Weather has been the same for either week for the most part. The crowds have been lighter the first week though. That has been our experience over the years anyway.Have been in March,April,June,July and August we now only go in December because of low crowds and weather we love.:sunny: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

The first week of Feb is great. The temps only got up into the low to mid 70's and the crowds are no where to be found.

The days would start off in the 50's and then by noontime be in the low to mid 70's and then be down again when the sun went down.

Very comfortable time to visit if heat is an issue.

I agree as well the first two weeks in December are great. The area considers it off season so you can get good deals. The weather when we went two years ago was warm but everyone seem to think that it was not normal for the days to be in the 80s and the nights were in the 70s. When wore t-shirts and shorts the whole trip. The decorations really bring out the spirit of disney during Christmas. I think it is more Disney then as aany time during the year. We will be there 6 - 13. Even though Osborne lights won't be there this year I know we will have a great time.
