My brother and I will be traveling to WDW in September (yay! :cheer2: ) and I am trying to make our ADR's now. He's a real meat-and-potatoes kind of guy, and suggested we have a nice steak dinner one night. I'm an eat-like-a-bird kind of gal, and don't have the slightest clue as to where we should go for that. I figured I would ask the experts here on the Dis to help. Where can we go to find the best steak dinner on property? Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

I would give Yachtsman steakhouse a try. I've heard mixed reviews about Shula's, and have never tried it myself, so can't personally comment on that one. We did eat lunch at the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary one time, seems like it was fine too.

Shula's in the Dolphin hotel. It's a top-tier steakhouse, though that also comes with top tier prices.

But its worth it, especially if its a once in awhile thing.

The menu is a la carte, meaning all sides and appetizers are priced individually.

Just keep in mind that its a true steakhouse atmosphere, not a "Disney" atmosphere. Lots of dark woods, football memorabilia (Don Shula is the former long time coach of the Miami Dolphins), that type of thing. The dress code is more casual than what it would be off-property, but they do still ask for collared shirts, no cut-offs, etc.

Are you on the dining plan?

The best steak I've had so far was at Citricos - it put the steak at Yachtsman to shame.

That being said, I've been told over and over again that Shulas is the BEST steak on property.

My best steak was at the Portobello Yacht Club at Downtown Disney. I was not too impressed with Yachtsman. :(

Shula's Shula's Shula's

It's by far the best beef on property. The sides are HUGE so you can split them.

Another vote for Shula's!! They have, hands-down, the best steak on property! But, they also have, hands-down, the highest prices on property too! LOL!

We loved Shula's as well...the one time we went...pricey, but oh-so-good. I think we're going to go there again on our next trip to WDW. My husband at the big/huge steak where you get your name on the plaque if you finish it...and he did!

We also really like Concourse Steakhouse...think it's really underrated.

Once upon a time we had to go to LeCellier every trip, but our last time to try it the tables were so close and it was so noisy that we just couldn't enjoy it.

Thanks for the great suggestions. We are on the dining plan, and I think we may stick with Le Cellier. I'll be sure to write a full dining review when we get back :)

I had good steak at Le Cellier (filet.) If you want go crazy, Artist Point has buffalo.

We enjoyed the filet at LeCellier this past Dec. A very nice meal!!

Though not a steak place, back when they served steak and lobster tail at Coral Reef, the steak was EXCELLENT. I believe you can get the steak there still, just not with the lobster tail. *sobs*

We liked both LeCellier and Les Chefs de France, but I think LeCellier steak was better.

In our book, the food at Le Cellier is ok, but the service is not that good and the tables are crammed together. It is just not a pleasant atmosphere. It is loud and hectic. Each time we go back it gets worse. We skipped it our last 2 trips.

We love the steaks from Yachtsman Steakhouse, Artist Point and Flying Fish. All 3 have great service and great atmosphere.

   :rose: Just settled on Concourse for a T.S At least someone said the steak was good there, but we are looking at choices for kids and the Rainbow cheese sandwich sounds great for DGS ( the cheese kid) and they have onion soup yum! Anyone any comments on Concourse. :disrocks:

I am going to do something I have never done before. I am going to recommend a place outside Disney. It is called Charley's steakhouse. They have 2 locations. One is on International Drive and the other is near Celebration. You can take a cab or a car.

Charley's has the best steaks around. The steaks here, including legendary 20oz Filet Mignon and a 32oz Porterhouse are fantastic.
