I have a friend that said Crocs are the way to go. They are comfy and dry quickly if you get wet. I did buy Disney crocs for my girls (they were on sale, lol) ...anyone have any advice on comfort? I'm not concerned about looks:)

I usually wear white Keds or Sketchers. But you need to wear whatever you think you can walk and walk and walk in all day without blisters. My son usually wears sneakers, but he has worn his Batman Crocs to Six Flags and did fine. I always go for comfort, not looks!

Crocs all the way! I love them! Our first trip I'd brought sneakers and after 2 days was thankful I also had my regular sandles along, the sneeks killed me since I'm not used to them. I was fine with my regular shoes, plus if they get wet not biggie. But now I have crocs, wear them EVERYWHERE, can't wait to find a deal on their mammoths for winter. My feet are never sore, no blisters and I don't think they look that bad!! esp the Mickey ones:lovestruc

Are your feet identical to your friend's? Do you walk exactly like your friend? If so, then Croc's may work for you.

Are they the best shoe for you? Maybe. Maybe not. You need to listen to your own feet. What shoes do you find the most comfortable for going shopping, walking, etc at home? Those are probably the best shoes for you when going to WDW. Just be sure that whatever shoes you take that they have been well broken-in before you go.

I wore keen sandals which were well worn prior and they worked the 4 day trip! That said, if staying for longer than 3 days, I'd bring 2 pair of shoes. You need a change -- you do a TON of walking!

My boys did great in sneaks and Mickey crocs...they worked best for the quick showers in the afternoons/water rides....and they never had an issue with them. Bring one pair of good broken in shoes and the crocs, they'll do fine!!:goodvibes

I bought teva sandals for this up coming trip and have been wearing them pretty much everyday since. They are SO comfortable I can't wait to wear them in Disney. Sierra Trading Company has them discounted often, check them out.:thumbsup2

I love my Teva Mush flip flops. They are the most comfortable shoes I own and are light and small enough that I can pack several pairs.

I swear by Lands end trekker sandals...they are SOOOOO comfy, waterproof, and durable. (I own 4 pair of just those, LOL) Plan on wearing those or Nikes. :)

As you can see there are as many answers as there are brands of shoes.:goodvibes However, if you think Crocs are for you buy a pair/style that you like and wear them alot. I love Crocs and have numerous pairs and styles but when I go to WDW I have to wear socks or I will get blisters. I have found that the best way to go is to take two different comfortable pair of shoes and change off, either during the day or from day to day. Another hint, take some epsom salts to soak your feet in at night! :rotfl2:

Any shoe that is NOT brand new is a good pair, in other words don't make the mistake of buying a new pair of shoes and not wearing/breaking them in first. If you wear tennis shoes - bring 2 pairs, if your at Epot and it rains they tend to have flooding problems and you will be greatful to have a dry pair to change into when you get back to the hotel. I usually wear tennis shoes in the park and sport sandals around the pool to give my feet some breathing time.

Crocs or my Reef flip flops have always worked best for me. I find that my tennis shoes tend to get heavier as the day goes on

I agree with pretty much all the other posts --- the biggest thing is to wear something that you have broken in, that you are familiar with, that you know for a fact is comfortable - and take two different such pairs with you. I wear Chacos all the time, and even at Disney, there will be one or two days where I just need to wear something else.

For myself, I've worn Keen shoes (Briggs style), Chacos shoes and Chacos sandals (Z2 style)... friends of mine have had great success with Tevas sandals and Keen sandals. I can wear Crocs around my house, and to run quick errands, but for me, they just don't have the necessary support to work for 12-15 hours of pounding concrete.

Whatever you decide - you must buy them well before your trip and wear them A LOT. It's the only way to know if they are truly Disney worthy.

I'm a fan of easy spirits brand sneakers (women shoes only).
and GOOD COMFY SOCKS and POWDER.
When all else fails, I rip everything off and stick them in the fountain at the American Adventure pavillion. A 5 minute soak gets me through the rest of the day (don't judge me, I was in pain).
I also find a big difference in the walking comfort during the times of the year. In summer, the ground is so hot that you get hot foot really quickly. The temps in the fall make it easier to get around comfortably.
I once had on rubber soled sandals and was waiting in a very long line outside of the Great Movie Ride. I was standing for several minutes in one spot under a tree that was surrounded by a metal grating. I went to pick up my feet when the line started to move and my shoes had MELTED TO THE GRATE AND I WAS STUCK AND THEY WERE GOOEY!!!

I would have been so lost w/o my Crocs at Disney this past May. I could live in flip flops but I know that an ordinary flip flop couldn't handle Disney, so I got the Croc Flip Flop (I think they were the Capri ones) and they were GREAT!

I also had my sneakers, when we were there we got so much rain, 4 days of rain straight, so after my 1st day of rain the sneakers got thrown out (wouldn't dry, smell, ilk) and the crocs ruled. When they got wet they dried super quick.

Just love them, I wouldn't recommend them (well the type I have) to people who don't like flip flops, I know my mom wouldn't like them, she hates having the wedge between her toes.

I vote for Nike Shox, I went in June and brought several pairs of shoes. I brought a pair of Nike Flip Flops, a pair of Teva Flip Flops, and my shox. My tennis shoes were the best, I was able to go all day without tired feet. I was worried about my feet getting hot but they didn't.

Whatever you do, bring at least two or three options (making sure they're all broken-in). You never know what will work for you. Crocs didn't work for me.

I brought my workout shoes a couple of trips ago - I wore them three or four days a week on the treadmill, so I thought they were broken in. Well, I got a blister on my little toe the first day, and switched to my Nike flip flops the rest of the trip. Thank goodness I had more than one option! It's very different at WDW - you're walking a good 7 or 8 miles per day, which puts a lot of pressure on your feet.

Just back...what worked well for me was to alternate each day between:
Teva Mush flip flops
Disney crocs (with little low socks)
Teva Terra Fi sandals.

ditto crocs in may's monsoons! water ran right out. light, easy to clean up after schlepping around AK all day.

also, check out duct tape for blisters (google it). DD who runs marathons, triathalons, etc. swears by it.

I'm in the minority here, but I wear my hiking boots. I wear them with sock liners and morino wool socks, just like if I was out hiking. My boots are water proof, so no worries about them getting wet. They provide excellent cushioning and durability and, for me at least, are the most comfortable thing when I have to be on my feet all day.
That said, everyone's feet and shoe preferences are different. I don't wear flip flops except in the shower at the gym and don't wear sandals (even Tevas or Crocs) when I know I'll be walking for long periods of time.
