Best Seating at Palo

I know ANY seat at Palo is a good seat. But are there some tables that are better than others, view wise?

We have gone to Palo twice on the Dream/Fantasy.

First time we had a group of 6 and were placed at a round table, elevated in the back "layer" of the restaurant (if that makes sense). It was not the middle half booth section. Although far from the windows, I liked the privacy.

Second time just my husband and me, and we had a window seat. Very nice. However, I did feel super close to our neighbors and felt like we had to talk in lower voices.

I think I might want to try the middle booth sections next time, have more privacy yet still the view.

Enjoy!

I guess I should have stated that it was for a party of two. Thanks for your advice! A view with privacy sounds perfect

adding on to this, do you make a seat request in advance or when you get on the ship?

I've never heard of anyone making an advance seat request for Palo. They'll seat you when you show up for your meal, and you can feel free to state a preference at that time. I think once I asked to be moved shortly after being seated, and they were happy to do so.

I have never made a seating request either for Palo. If was inclined to do so, I would probably go to the hostess stand the day before and put in my request.

On our cruise last week our server informed us you can request anything! (of course not guaranteed). She said people request a specific server, table number, dining room rotation, you name it! We loved our server and would definitely ask for her if we sail on the Dream again.

Does Palo have table numbers and dining room rotations? That sounds more like the MDR than Palo.

The problem is if you ask for more than one of those, DCL will have to pick one to prioritize so you may not get everything you want. It should also be noted table numbers do not stay the same for every cruise.

Good point! I was just surprised those things could be requested. For us, it would have been good to know we could request a dining room rotation, to make sure our kids didn't miss animator's palate (their favorite restaurant) on the night we booked Palo.

No table numbers. That is, there are no numbered placards on the tables. I would not be surprised to find that the dining room manager and servers use a numbering system to keep track of orders, special requests, etc. That way, if the chef or sommelier need to go to a particular table, there would be an easy way for the table location to be identified.

We usually reserve Palo at the first available booking time (10 am for brunch and 6 pm for dinner) and have never had a problem getting that time. As a party of two, we have always been seated at a table for two along the windows.

On the dream: near a window.

On the Wonder: there's a deck in front of the window... the view is not so good. However, we have witnessed Goofy having fun with kids there.

Depends on the reservation time...check the sunset time for your date online to determine whether it will be dark outside...ask for a window seat if you will be dining during sunset...a cruise highlight I strongly recommend

We've only dined at Palo once on the Wonder. We were seated by the window. It was nice, although at one point during dinner there were a number of children running around on the deck outside the window, trying to look inside, etc which took away from the ambience a little!

From memory the window was also a little cloudy or something. I recall that it wasn't crystal clear which was disappointing as we were dining as the sun was setting and couldn't fully appreciate the view.
