Best Resort for 6

Not sure if what rate she booked but if you go to disney's website the Cabins at Fort Wilderness have just been made moderates. She may want to check this out.

I don't know what kind of budget the OP is on, but the cabins start at about $250.00 per night in value season. If you are trying to be economical, two rooms at a value or a suite at the value resort All-star movies is a much better deal and you get two bathrooms for almost $100.00 per night cheaper. But, I guess, if you really need that outdoorsy, camping feel, then go for it! Just not for me at that price.

Not anymore they have been changed to Mods and start at 149.00 a night. I just double checked.

Sorry but you are mistaken. Yes, the mods start at $149 but not the cabins.

My BIL and his family (dd6 and ds4) have stayed in the cabins the last few years and swear by them! They like being in proximity to MK (cheapest alternative for the proximity other than "real camping"). Typically, they take some other adult relatives with them and therefore need the extra sleeping space the cabins afford. They love having the activities like the petting zoo and nightly campfire right there. BTW, this family does not camp at all!

My BIL's wife does like to cook, and therefore they have a number of meals at the campsite and do not get the dining plan. However, IMHO, that would not be a vacation for me! Still, the full service kitchen may provide some $$$$, depending on your situation.

Hope your friend has a geat trip!:wizard:

I apologize, I misread. Sorry for any confusion.

No problem. Since the cabims were moved to the mod category many think the price would be same as a standard mod room.

But just because a resort is in a certain catagory does not mean it will be priced the same.
The monorail and Epcot deluxes different prices and they are more expensive than AKL and WL.
Also remember the cabins sleep 6 and any WDW room that sleeps 6 is quite pricey.

The jr suites at CSR (a moderate resort )sleep 6 and start at $340 a night during value season.

The Family Suites at All Star Music (a value resort) start at $184 during value
season.

The Cabin is 504 square feet , they sleep 6 and have full kitchen also.
The standard mod rooms are 314-340 square feet, sleep 4 ( POR-AB does sleep 5) and they have no kitchen.

I highly doubt the cabins would be priced the same as a standard mod room.
