I am getting ready to have another member transfer points into my account and wanted to see if there are any best practices for how the transfer should take place.

I last did a transfer several years ago and I was on the phone with the member when they called MS. Because of the security questions (which I completely understand) the member does not want me to be on the call. Can others give insight into how they did their transfers? What information do I have to provide to the other member in order to allow them to complete the transfer.

Thanks so much to everyone for their advice. I am totally comfortable with the person doing the transfer, just want to be sure I am not missing something!

Have the other member call in get through the security questions they ask MS to conference you in. I just did this last year and it worked great, they need your DVC member number.

So if MS conferences me in I don't need to answer the security questions as well?

No they just need your member number to transfer them in. The first time I just gave the person my number then called in after she told me it was done to confirm with MS. The 2nd time we asked for a conference call and they had to go through the security stuff then they called me back on a 3 way. I can't remember if MS did the 3 way or if the person doing the transfer initiated the 3 way call.

Keep mind this is just my experience so maybe I got lucky? Both ways it was ok, the tricky part is the payment. First time I paid half with check she did the transfer I sent her a check for the 2nd half. The last time we did the 3 way call, when we were still on the line with MS I hit the submit button on paypal and she had the payment confirmation before we hung up.

Good luck
