I think they are pretty funny to figure out while sitting at a light, but I prefer having anonymous plates.

I do!! Thanks for remembering that.......collection is sitting at a bit over 400.I do not have one, never have had one. Some that I see, like when at a stoplight, are pretty creative and/or funny.
Didn't you used to have Disney antenna toppers, Nancy? Or am I thinking of somebody else here? But without traditional antennas anymore, no place to put them.
Same. NY was one of the first states to offer them, when they were known as vanity plates. My dad had them going back to the early 1960’s. There was originally no extra cost but at some point, as they became more popular, the state started charging an initial fee plus an extra fee on your annual registration. My dad always had personalized plates on our family cars growing up (they weren’t exciting messages.. they were various combinations of his initials and meaningful-to-him numbers.)
Same here.I've never been interested in a personalized license.
My brother used to live in VA and anytime I visited it seemed like everybody had personalized plates!I have one. I live in Virginia and you know what we love? Personalized plates lol.
The extra fee isn’t much.
