Best Pool Home rental

I agree with dis members not advertising their homes on this site. I do think it is unfair that if people have rented and stayed in homes owned by dis members that their experience cannot be shared when others ask opinions on pool homes. Dis member homes are the same as any other home. The owners themselves are not tooting their own horn just people who have stayed with them

Most of the times these homes are found on vrbo.com, orlandovillas and onlinefloridavillas.com and you find out you are both memebers later.

This does need to be looked at very closely because at the moment it does not seem fair to anyone.

I do appreciate Kilee's explanation but I feel there needs to be more.

At the moment we are reviewing the policy and taking it to the Webmaster's as well. We will see how it pans out from there. We are looking at either making it an all or none policy as there are things to consider from every angle. We will make an update in the near future.

I was taken back by the fact that links to homes can be put on the Dis but if you are a member that is not allowed. Some thing does not sound right here.

As a member I have tried to give good advice on pool homes and the policies. It is something that I know. That is what this forum is all about I thought. Why should my home not be recomended if it is where the guest has stayed and it was a good experience?

I fully agree with Deb and feel that this is something that should be looked at and would be beneficial for many people on these boards.

This is starting to sound like the "must I buy a seat for my infant on the plane". Opinions are very strong! For my two cents: We did rent a home and the owner was not on the DIS. However, after looking at this board for a long time I have to say that the folks who do have homes and post do not push thier homes. They offer very good advice and have a great deal of experience. If I rented from a DIS owner I think I should be able to offer a review of my experience. This is different from an owner giving a review of their property. In addition, this board is open to all. There is nothing to prevent other owners from getting on it and sharing what they know about pool home rental.
