Lost my Mickey Mouse watch at the beach last Sunday! It was pretty beat up and junky, I've had it for 16 years, it was a graduation present, but I miss it. But... I'll be at WDW in three weeks, so I can replace it. Isn't there a watch shop on Main Street? Am I remembering right? I want something cool, simple and classic. The Disney Store's offerings are pretty limited.

Two trips ago my DH and I realized that neither one of us owns a watch and we didn't want to carry our cell phones on us but we needed to know what time it was so we could use our fastpasses! We went to a watch shop in MGM. It's on the right on your way to ToT. There's also a good place in DTD to get watches.

Check around - I'm sure you'll find a good replacement!

I bought my Mickey watch during our last trip at the Watch and jewelry shop on Main Street at the MK. It is really nice and it cost less than $100. IMHO, it is a great, lasting souvenir.

There is a decent watch and jewelry section at World of Disney in Downtown Disney.

It really depends on what you're looking for...MGM has a nice display of "better" Disney watches, I don't know the name of the shop, but as you enter the park, it is the shop that is in the second block, on the left hand side...it carries the menswear and ladies wear (Disney Clothiers, maybe?) Custom painted watch faces are available at MGM as well, at a shop on the right as you approach the Beauty & The Beast show area.

DtD has a good selection in the World of Disney, and yes, there is a shop on Main Street at MK has also has a good selection.
If you're looking to go with a less expensive watch, many gift stands/shops throughout the parks will carry them. If this is to be a "special" watch for you, I suggest you take your time and browse around, while a lot of stores carry similar merchandise, they do not always stock identical items, and you may find that "perfect" watch as close as your resort gift shop.

Thanks all- I'm pretty picky so I'll be looking a lot. I want one that looks like the old-fasioned ones-- with a simple, old-school Mickey, a slightly more masculine style of watch, with a stainless steel band... or maybe black leather. Hmm, I guess I'll just look around.

You can find the leather band Mickey watches in almost every major store, including the resorts. You'll have no problem finding a replacement.

carries a big selection of Disney watches! My DH bought mine at the gift shop in the Polynesian.

If you're an AP holder, you get a discount at World of Disney in DTD. My husband goes through a lot of watches and we have usually found anything we liked in the parks at World of Disney too.

I think the watch shop on mainstreet of the MK is the best spot. there are professional jewlers there that know their business. i happen to have an extremely small wrist and for years been searching for a watch and was told that they cant remove enough links to fit me. however this year i was not leaving without a watch. while trying on everything WDW had to offer a CM took out one of those new skagen watches and explained how the mesh band can be fit to any size. sure enough i finally got a watch to fit(rather stylish might i add) whatever u want or are looking for they will help out.

Chuck S., can you tell more about the custom-painted watches? Do you bring a photo? TIA.

I had a custom watch made in January at the shop across from the big Christmas store (Marketplace, DTD). They have books with lots of characters from all the Disney movies. I was looking for my favorite, Merryweather from Sleeping Beauty. They had a lot of the more obscure characters.

The artist is sitting right there, and you talk about what you want based on something from the book.

The watch came in a unique leather tube. It has a black alligator leather strap, gold clasp with a small mickey head on it, and the original drawing was enclosed (they shrink it to put on the watch). I had the drawing framed when I got home.

All and all, it cost a little over 200, but I love it! So no souveniers for me this upcoming trip!

The Outlets.......

The one at Premier Outlet Mall and also at Belz. I have found some lovely watches there and also a lot cheaper than in the parks!

DH and I both got new watches (Monther's Day and Father's Day gifts from DDs) from the World of Disney in DTD. The AP discount helps a lot too. They had a great selection. They bought it on the last day there so we could look at the selection throughout the parks. World of Disney had each one of my favorites. Because of my job, I wasn't looking for anything too obvious. So I got one with a gold and silver band with a small "diamond" Mickey head at 12:00. Have fun shoping.

I got my favorite watch at the jeweler on Main St. (LE Castles watch - celebrating 45 years of Disney Theme Parks)
I always stop in looking for another new treasure - Lots of beauties in there!

Both me and DH's aunt bought nice watches at World of Disney in March. They had a great selection of all price ranges. In the past, DH and I bought each other honeymoon watches in the gift shop at AKL. I think this watch thing may become a pattern for me!
