We will be staying at the Poly for NYE . Does anyone have a recommendations for dinner? Have a teen and a tween so Calif Grill and Narcoossee's are out. We have eaten there before but too expensive and formal for NYE with the kids. I was thinking of Grand Floridian Cafe , Citricos or Ohanas. I have been to Ohanas before and thought it was good although very meat oriented. Any thoughts? Thanks:):wave2:

You may be confusing Citricos and Narcoossee's. Narcoosee's is the more relaxed and less expensive of the two. Are you planning to go into the MK? If so, I would plan to eat there. If not, what about the Concourse Steakhouse? I've heard it's pretty good.

Since you're at the Poly, why don't you eat at the Kona Cafe? It's casual and the food is really good.

Narcoosee's has a very expensive special menu NYE dinner. I think it is there because of the firework viewing. Although Citricos is more formal it isn't as expensive for NYE. My children have dined in most of the formal restaurants restaurants at Disney and elsewhere but the two I mentioned have bands etc for NYE and cost quite alot. We are staying away from the MK that day. We will watch fireworks from our hotel( Poly). I never tried the Concourse steak house. Thanks for the suggestion. Any thoughts from others on this or other restaurants? We usually stay at the Epcot hotels so I am still trying to figure this NYE experience from a monorail hotel. Hope I didn't make a mistake switching from the BCV. We are staying there for four nights and then switching to the Poly:) Thanks:)

How about Hoop de Doo? It is no more expensive that night than any other and a very fun way to dine. That was our choice for NYE 1999/2000 and 2002/2003. We did the earliest seating giving us lots of time to return to the Polynesian/GF.

Kona Cafe and the GFC as well as Citricos all would be good choices as well.

We are going to do the Hoop de doo on another night but that sounds like a good choice. What is the GFCafe like? Is it decent for dinner? I was also wondering how the Concord steakhouse is rated? Anybody has an opinion:) I really don't know anything about these restaurants or the Kona Cafe or Citricos either . I would welcome suggestions

Another vote for Kona Cafe. Great food, and really over-the-top desserts that will delight the kids. And not that expensive.

OR if you go with the GFC, you could order the Dog bones and Cinderella slipper for the kids. That would be special for NYE.

The GF Cafe is very casual for dinner. You can get a great cheeseburger, turkey club sandwich, chicken caesar salad, up to a New York strip steak. I loved having that big of a variety and it was a great spot for the kids. Excellent choice.
