October is our favorite time to go to Walt Disney World......Halloween decorations and MNSSHP. Lower crowds, F & W, not a insanely hot as August (Our normal travel time). Mid December would be a very close second choice!

I say August, and I'll give you pros and cons:
PROS: The crowds are dwindling, especially in the second half of August. Most Florida students are going back to school and most northern students are getting ready to go back You still get a fair amount of heat but it's not unbearable. Depending on the time you go, you're able to skip the seasonal decor (it's nice but gets old looking at Halloween stuff all the way in August). Things seem a bit calmer and relaxed. You can normally find some great deals!
CONS: It's still hot. There is more people than September but less than the beginning of the month. The DCP is transitioning and a lot of CM's are leaving their summer jobs so sometimes they feel a bit understaffed.

August is still my favorite time to go. I went the week of Thanksgiving once. It was great because it was Disney but it got rough towards Thursday and Friday!

I voted November. Perfect combination of amazing weather, start of the holiday season, and end of Food & Wine. Plus, my kids usually get a couple days off school the first week of Nov, so that helps with missing classes.

Early December. I like the weather and would prefer too cold to too hot (from Canada). I also love all the Christmas decorations.

I picked May.
I love F&G and the weather is good. When my vacation has finished I come back to the beginning of summer in my own country.
I love early December holidays, but coming back to the Christmas prep and then the depressingly grey weather of January makes the vacation seem like a distant memory.

Unfortunately this year it was cold in March. I had to buy an extra sweatshirt because I was cold. Only one day that was a "shorts" day. I want to sweat in Florida not shiver.
It was a little chilly when I visited in early march this year. Went with long pants, bu a short sleeved shirt. On the plus side, by the time it got dark and a little colder, SM became a walk on ride. And since its my favorite (and was closed during my previous visit) we rode it four times in a row with no wait. I had never been so excited to reach that first drop and get to the indoor part of the ride, lol

I still have to go with January, despite the larger crowds (or at least longer lines) this year. The weather is the difference; it's so nice to not be visiting Disney World in scorching heat.

Last week of October for me. School holidays in the UK (this is where I am form) but not in the US. Crowds are not getting any better but still manageable with good planning. And the weather is as good as it gets.
Last year Splash Mountain was down which was a real disappointment but overall closures are not too common at that time (and this year even both water parks will be open - usually Blizzard Beach is closed)

End of January, beginning of February is our favorite time. Not really crowded and we're from PA so the *cold* doesn't bother us (kids love swimming in the heated pool no matter how chilly). No special party nights to limit our time in MK
Having said that we're going mid August this year and hopefully we don't melt in the heat.

So far March and August are getting the least amount of love.

Funnily enough, we just took a March trip and it was one of the best vacations we've ever had. The weather was gorgeous and the crowds weren't as bad as I'd expected. Rope Drop was key, though.

We love our March trips, but we always go during that first week/weekend. I'm not sure if my opinion would change much later in the month or not. We are excited to try October for the first time!

I would be, too! We still haven't done a fall trip, but I really want to. I hope you have a blast! :goodvibes

Our latest trip took place the second week of March. I'm sure crowds did get worse during the second half of the month.

We're really excited for Halloween, Food & Wine, and my birthday is 11/1 so it'll be a lot of fun things in one trip! We are staying at one new resort and eating at almost all new restaurants.
