Best "low-key" character breakfast

On our last day at the mouse, I want to take DD18m to a character breakfast. But I don't want anything too rambunctious as she gets very distracted and won't eat anything. Can you recommend a character meal that is low-key but still fun and of course, has decent food? Oh and not one in a park since we won't be using a ticket that day.

BTW, I've done Chef Mickeys and Cape May already. TIA!

I think the character breakfast choices left at the resorts are 1900 Park Fair and 'Ohana. I don't know which one would be quieter, though.

If you're planning on paying OOP, there's also the Garden Grove at the Swan with characters. But the characters are there ONLY on Saturday and Sunday. When we went, Pluto, Chip and Dale were there, but the AllEarsNet menu says that Pluto and Goofy are there. It's small and has a buffet with a very small selection. There's also an a la carte menu. It was very quiet when we went on our last trip. Mostly conventioners coming in with newspapers and coffee. Since there were so few people, Chip, Dale, and Pluto actually sat at an empty table next to us and had all the kids in the restaurant sit with them. It was so cute! Although I wouldn't really recommend it strongly, it's one of the few choices after Chef Mickey's and Cape May that serve a character breakfast at a resort. But it's only if your last day is a Saturday or Sunday.

You're probably better off at 1900 Park Faire for food and characters. I don't know how loud it is there, though.

Bilge! I was going to suggest Cape May but if you've already tried that one then I'm fresh out of ideas...it's definitely the calmest character breakie we've ever tried at WDW.

We did most of the character breakfasts at the resorts and they were pretty crazy. Honestly, the lowest-key one we went to was the Princess Breakfast at Akershus in Norway. It was the only one without a parade or hoopla of some sort.

How about the character breakfast at Ohana...Its served family style so no getting up and down to a buffet like the others...characters are lilo and stich and mickey and friends!...Sounds good we are trying it this trip..

1900 PF is anything but quiet, the noise level in that place will make you deaf. Cape May super early is nice and quiet and I hear Ohana at 7:30 am is very quiet...will let you know as that is where we will be 2 weeks from tomorrow.

Try O'hana. If you were to compare it to Chef Mickey's, it's quiet. There is Mickey, Pluto, Stitch and Lilo. The food is good and it's served family style. It's kinda nice not to have to get up and wait in lines and carry plates, especially with a little one.

Thanks for the comments! I was honestly leaning toward 1900 but so glad I posted - I assumed it would have been quiet.

I have been to O'hana for dinner but never breakfast so it will be something new. And DD would love to dance after her meal. I'll see if I can get a ADR. Thanks!

The nice thing about Ohana is it is family sytle so you don't have to deal with getting up for your food. But it is quite rowdy Stitch works that room. . We have found Cape May around 10ish to be pretty mellow. We have had goofy sit down & color with the kids after they were done eating.

i think kid distraction and character meals are sonomous . my kids are not big eaters, and i would say they ate next to nothing at all of our character meals - too excited! oh well, pack a banana for later and enjoy your meal...

What about Tusker House in AK?

We did that in Jan and loved it. It was not crazy with the characters like Chef Mickey's. Food was great and it was a laid back character meal

We think the Lilo & Stitch breakfast at Ohana is best for a low key character breakfast. We go late, like 11 a.m. which helps. There is no buffet which, happily, cuts down on the number of people out of their chairs wandering around. Food is served at the table family style. Mickey is usually there and a few other of the characters, in addition to Lilo and Stitch. They do a cute parade with the kids every hour or so. It's the only character breakfast we bother with.

I vote for Cape May! When my daughter was younger, we were waiting to be seated, so she was coloring in a coloring book which was provided for the "little kids." We were there mid to late morning, so she was the only child coloring in the lobby. Without anyone noticing (including me and my wife) Minnie silently edged up to the table and started coloring right next to my daughter. My daughter looked at her as if this was completely normal and continued working on her picture, as did Minnie. It was as if they were just two friends hanging out. The "low key" feel of the whole thing is what made it priceless. Also, at the time we were there, no crowds and no screaming. We had a great time.

I'd vote for Cape May. And distraction and character meals are part of the fun. Just pack a lot of snacks for her to eat after her character "meal"! Don't expect her to eat much and you won't be disappointed.

In my opinion I think 1900 PF is a quiet(somewhat) character meal for Breakfast. We go there every year, including all the other characters meals. Too me this is the quietest ( if there's such a thing) and has very good breakfast food. I also recommend Ohana's for breakfast pretty low key also good food. You know, maybe the are tied. We go to both every year.

This will be my grand-daughters first trip to WDW and I wanted something similar for our last day (a tad quieter). We have ADR's at Ohana for 10:45. It will give us a chance to sleep in, have a filling meal, and end with seeing Mickey before catching a plane back to our real world.

Akershus - it was very quiet and low key! The princesses came around to the tables, but it was in a very relaxed way. And the food was very good. I think you would be pleased with Akershus.
