Best location for pictures?

We're having a VR @ the Swan but I'm not a fan of their locations for pictures so we wanted to go somewhere else for pictures (probably before the ceremony). I LOVE the Grand Floridian but it sounds like I might not be able to get pics done there if there is another bride having her ceremony during that time so I need a backup location. Randy says that the Polynesian is really nice. The boardwalk is nice but I'm not in love with it like I was with the GF. So where else is nice? I love the elegance of the GF so that is what I'm looking for. I'd love to see pictures if you don't mind sharing too!

If you check with your planner where the WP couple are going to be you may be able to work around it. Perhaps you could just have some inside shots of the GF?

The fountains at the Dolphin are great for pictures they are my husbands fav. There is also a piano in the Dolphin which I wanted some pics with but entirely forgot to ask Randy, doh! lol

What about having some shots over near the Beach Club? The lighthouse is a lovely location.

The Beach and Yacht club are very beautiful, the Boardwalk's lobby has a lot of very elegant locations and is just a stone's throw away from the Swan and Dolphin, definitely worth it for photo ops!

We took pictures inside the GF while another bride was there...she was on the big staircase and we went upstairs. My photog just made sure to keep her out of our pictures If you want to take photos in the WP while a wedding is going on, well that makes sense. If you're looking for the elegance of the GF, definitely fight to go there because I don't think anything else quite has that "look". My favorite pictures were in the Grand Floridian!

I agree with Wendy. I know Randy is very mindful of 'not getting in another bride's way', but if you are sure not to be fighting over the staircase , I cannot see the problem. Has Randy actually told you it would not be possible to have photos at the Gf due to there being another bride there? I know that there will be another bride at the Boardwalk when I want pre-ceremony pictures there. I informed Randy myself about this, and he just said we would keep out of her way!!!

The thing is that I couldn't care less about the staircase. All I want is a few pictures outside and a few inside by the beautiful chandelier. I couldn't care less if another bride is there, I'd stay out of her way. I just love the GF. I guess we'll wait til it gets closer and work out the details. If I have to get ready a few hours earlier then so be it.

I am desperate for pictures at the Gf too (we are having our reception meal there) and I know there is a wedding at the WP about the time we will be arriving at the GF (disneemama's daughter). I really hope that we will not hit on the same problem!!

Before we went for pics we checked with our planner and they told us when the other couple should be gone by. We had to be in the GF to get to V&A's but we wanted Christmas tree pics, staircase etc. so we wanted to make sure we didn't steal anyone's thunder

I can't seem to find the email with the exact wording but he said something along the lines of: if there is another bride at the GF during that time we can go to the Poly. I'm assuming it is out of respect, because if another bride is there and paying DFTW to be there then she probably wants first dibs on photo opp locations without having to fight another bride. Not that we'd fight, but you know what I mean. They need to draw the line somewhere or there could potentially be 10 brides wanting GF pictures done at the same time. I think he does it out of professionalism and it is respectable of him to do that.

Joanne, I think you'd be fine because you actually have a reservation at the GF, so you'll be there either way. We aren't supposed to be at the GF for anything, we'd be making a special trip over before our ceremony in hopes of getting pictures done.

He said as it gets closer he can find out if there will be another bride there and what time and we can plan a location then. I guess as long as I'm flexible with times I'll probably be able to get my GF shots. We were planning on being there around 2, so I'm hoping that is an odd enough time that we'll be the only ones there.

Thank you Jilian - I am sure Randy will sort it out!!! I have complete faith in him!! As you rightly say, he is professional and respectful!! That said, the Poly is so beautiful - that is why we have chosen to do our TTD there!!
