Best Hot Dogs in WDW

I have been eating at Disney for a very long time and the hotdogs at Casey's have gone wayyyy downhill. This is my own personal opinion, but I cannot stand the nasty bun, or the taste of the hotdog itself. However, if you can get to the Boardwalk, ESPN has a pretty good dog. In fact I just had one for dinner in May, and it met my expections of a good Chili dog. It was a meal in itself, and the flavor was great!

I haven't had a Hot Dog at WDW since they removed the Hot Dog Cart from the entrance to World Showcase at EPCOT many years back. They served the nice thin foot long all beef hotdogs. That was the only place I would ever buy a hotdog at WDW. Never cared for the ones they served anywhere else on property. I can't eat them if they aren't 100% beef.

We called them Eppie Dogs. So sad when they were gone!!

they have cheaped the dogs...like everything else they can get away with.

a 10 dollar chicken dog is just a travasty.

But good points about germany (others) and boardwalk.

the german brats at sommerfest should quell any urge for cased meats encountered at WDW until you can get back to a place that sells a decent dog...

espn has a decent hot dog and a good, spicy chili to go with..

And one of the last independent hidden treasures at WDW is the afternoon grease cart on the Boardwalk...whats great about that is thats is a cash only, completely outsourced third party vendor that sells boardwalk/ carnie food...

or as i like to put it: it hasn't been infiltrated by the poisonous tentacles of the disney dining plan.

good old fashion grease...which is warranted on vacation

I do miss those! They also had a cart by Haunted Mansion, we would by one dog and share because they were so long!

It's as if Disney is encouraging people to go to Universal! Then, there seems to be a lot of people who judge a hot dog soley by the toppings. Those are the folks who think Big Macs and Whoppers are gourmet burgers...

i don't know if its on the internet anywhere...but off the top of my head:

dogs, burgers, italian sausages, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, fries, o-rings...

you know...good old fashion high fat yummies

better quality than disney quickserve

I am wondering this too, and are they all beef? DD does not like all beef hot dogs, neither do I. We generally eat Sahlen's dogs here but WDW will not have them.

Sahlen Dogs??? Must be a western New Yorker with a Wegman's nearby!

I agree!!! The buns are SO dry and gross! When we took the KTTK tour, we got to see the tunnels underneath and all the buns buns everywhere. All the same nasty, whole-grain looking buns. Sad too, I luvz me a good hot dog on a SOFT bun.

Apparently the Hess dog and the Hess pizza (MK locale). Reputed to be AWESOME! We'll be stopping in.
I agree, it's sad when we are all making a run to the gas station for eats! One of the GREAT parts of renting a car. Not being held hostage for crummy food and premium prices.

So disappointed to hear about the hotdogs! It’s been years since I’ve had one but if it’s not 100% beef then it might as well be Oscar Meyer! And I was looking forward to having one….

Does Hess accept the dining plan

I guess for me its the whole ambience thing because I consider myself a hot dog snob! And I thoroughly enjoy my Casey's hotdog as I wait for the parade to start. Maybe I'm just enjoying the scenery and company and not much of the hotdog afterall!

The hotdogs in Disney is great.
The problem lies with the bun. Its not very good!

I purchased one for my nephew and myself and the hotdog was plump and juicy but the bun was stale. We ate them anyway and still had a great time!
