Best freebies on the cruise line?

There were a lot of Freebies in the Oceaneer's Club for my DD. She got the Friendship Rocks Tee-Shirt, She got a pillowcase at Pluto's PJ party, She got a picture taken by the ships photographer with Pinnochio and of course there were lots of other craft items she did and brough home. Her favorite was her treasure chest she made.

Free Drinks are passed out on Formal Night during the Captain's Reception.

Both of my kids got free pillowcases in their kids clubs. My 13 year old got a Pirates in the Caribbean pillow case and my 6 year old got a pluto pillow case. Then, we brought them to the desk and got them signed. My little one also got a free t-shirt from the Friendship Rocks show.

My children are now older but do they not give the graduation hats along with the t-shirts anymore? We have those and they are so cool.

that is a shame - it was a great souvienor - it was a graduation cap with mickey ears! it was one of those cool things you could not buy - they also got the t-shirt. The last time my kids did it was in 2008 on the WBPC cruise.

My kids always pick up DVC pluto buttons and tattoos at the kiosks they have set up!

My kids also got the pillow cases from the kids club, we have pluto and hannah montannah.

Pirate night if you order the kids smoothie special you can keep the cup and it comes with a light up tink or captain hook. (technically not a freebie, but free with purchase)

Cute "sleepy" chocolates at turn down and chocolate coins on pirate night.

Can you please tell me what's a FE group? Thanks!

That would be Fish Extender group- look on the Meets board for your cruise meet and see who is doing the fish extender. It's a cloth pocket you hang from the metal fish outside your door, and you go around and leave presents for other Dis-ers on the cruise, and they come by and leave little gifts for you!

There's also the Pirate's in the Caribbean bandanas they give you at dinner on pirate night.

I agree with CADisneyMom, The Vacation Club seminars are full of give-aways. On previous cruise I have got ball caps, pens, notepads. I have won a great beach bag because they have a lot of draws. They also have a draw for an on-board credit. That would come in handy..:thumbsup2

I won $300 at one of these meetings on the last day of our cruise. DH MADE me get a Dooney and Bourke cruise handbag!! He won $200 on the following cruise and got a fabulous watch. :yay:

Just discovered on the Dream that on Deck 4 at the Vista Cafe there is a cooler box filled with goodies like chocolate covered strawberries, cakes and other pastries that are free. Seemed like no one realized they were there the entire cruise.

We cruised in 2007 and they had a family car building race. Think it was called the Mickey 6000. We had 10 minutes to build a "car" out of all sorts of vegetables and wood derby car pieces. In the end we raced family against family and the winner got a gold cup (a gold Disney travel mug). They also handed out t-shirts, key chains and pencils to the participates. It was a blast! We won the cup! We are cruising again in 2012 and if they still do this we will definatley try to race again.

Yes, they still did the mickey 200 last summer on the balics ..my son just loves making a car out of a carrot..sadly the prices have become very 'low budget'. I believe only the winner got a button with Mickey 200 on it..4 years ago all of the contestents got a button like that (only that..) oh, well ...it s about the game, isn't it ?:thumbsup2

Yes, these are also available at Cove Cafe on all of the ships! I like the hot wings and nachos at the lounges in the evenings as well.

If you're a DVC member, in addition to the free drinks and freebies for showing up at the presentation, you also get a free gift box in your room including a DVC lanyard and pin. If you wear something with DVC on it throughout the cruise, you will often get another free pin or two at random. Three DVC seminars so far and we haven't won the OBC.

We did win a free spa treatment for going to the spa open house and raffle on the first day of the cruise.

On the special itinerary cruises, there are often additional free stateroom gifts throughout the cruise for everyone regardless if you're a CC member or not.

At the CC receptions, they used to raffle off free gifts. Since I was just a lowly silver member on our last two cruises, I don't know if they still do this or not.

In addition to the pillowcase signings, you can take most anything to guest services for free character signings including photo mats, birthday cards, etc.

The scrapbooking session held by the future cruise sales team. You get some cute paper, stickers and can make your own page. We made one to put on our door for our Med cruise.

Are the Vacation club seminars only for current DVC members or anyone interesting in going? I was always a little confused on this.

They have a "Member Celebration" that is for current members. They have info sessions open to all on almost every sea day (longer cruises) or every day (short cruises). Most have a drawing for onboard credit, as well as many small items.

Thanks! I will have to check my Navigator more closely on my next sea adventure. :boat:
