Best Days of Week to be at Parks

Coming in early June (not the busy first weekend of June though), and thinking about crowds. I know it will be busy at that time of year. I have some flexibility on dates though, and was wondering if it's better to plan to be in the parks from Friday to Tuesday, or to try to be there Monday to Friday. I have two guidebooks, but they seem to contradict each other on whether weekends are good or bad during the summer. Thanks!

I feel your pain. We ARE coming the busy first week of June. I made a chart of the "Best Days" and "Days to Avoid" from the 2005 Unofficial Guide. It's pretty discouraging because the MK is on the "Days to Avoid" most of the time.

uh oh - what is considered the first weekend of june? we were coming down june 5-12....is that the terrible week or the week before it?

The first weekend in June is the annual gay day event. The weekend of the 4th-5th will probably be busier than normal, but not the rest of your trip. Sounds like you'll be fine though with the 5th being your arrival day. I'm not sure just how much more busy than usual that weekend is, just wanted to note in my post that our trip fell outside of it so responders wouldn't have to address that in their reply.

My trip will either be June 10-14 or June 13-17 depending on whether or not we should avoid weekends.
