I was just wondering who makes your favorite crab cakes in the world. I really enjoyed the ones at the Hollywood Brown Derby!

Unfortunately, I can't compare with any of the other restaurants listed because RFC is the only restaurant on the list I've had crab cakes at while in WDW. However, I thought they were out of this world fabulous!

Piglet54...I am sure you meant WDW, but I know aplace that has the best crab cakes in the reg. world....Carlyle Grand Cafe in Shirlington (near Arlington, VA).!!! I don't know what part of VA you are from, but they are THE best (and the Lobster Potstickers and Chocolate Flourless waffle w/ Macadamia Ice Cream aren't bad either!)

P.S. Never, Never try Dungeoness Crab Cakes from Fulton's They'll bounce right off the floor!

DH and I go on the last day of every trip to Wolfgang Pucks in DTD for their crabcakes - they are the best!

Love the Peekytoe Crab Cakes at Flying Fish :cool1:

Captains Galley, Crisfields, Md.
Captains Galley II, Ocean City MD

Harrisons, Kent Island MD

Sorry, Us Marylanders are partial to our crabs.

Jim

We have tried them at Rainforest Cafe, Kona Cafe and last week at Grand Floridian Cafe. The Grand Floridian crab cakes were huge and spiced just right. A little mango salsa on the side.

I'm with Laurabelle, Calalily and jgalecpa: I voted "other" as meaning none of them are up to Md. standards. I've tried the WDW cakes in various spots (Fultons, Citricos, Flying Fish etc) and they are often tasty/sweet. But they all lack the lump crabmeat and the seasonings that set the Md. varierty on a well-deserved pedestal!!

Every restaurant in MD advertises "The Best Crabcakes!" lol!
Here's one example...from G&M restaurant in Linthicum, MD.
Now I'm hungry!

I was just "downey ocean" (Down to ocean city, in MD speak), last weekend talking to my Crab man.

He says the crabs are looking real good this year hear.

Another sign, I can get 1 lb of backfin Md. Crab at safeway for only 10.99!

MMMMMmmmm.

laurabelle:
Won't find anything like those at WDW. Take note other posters and gaze upon REAL crabcakes!!
jgalecpa: That is a very good price these days.

Well I answered other too, but was referring to other in WDW. We loved the crab cakes at Narcoosees.

But those pictures do make me drool!!

Well-crabcakes are a MD "thing" and this happens when crabcake questions are posted.
BUt it also happens when some one asks where the best Philly Cheesesteak is at WDW--so I don't feel too bad.
And not saying crabcakes at WDW aren't "good". They're just not Md. good!

Laurebelle...those crab cakes look absolutely mouth watering! Ok..where in Linthicum is G & M...next time I am up that way..we'll have to stop!

G&M Restaurant is near BWI. I grew up near there. It's a pretty unassuming looking place, but it is hopping! They are very reasonably priced and delicious! Their crabcakes are huge and all jumbo lump. They have mail order crabcakes too. A very dear friend of mine, who had come to visit me from out of state fell in love with them, and had them delivered twice when she was at the end of her battle with breast cancer...yeah, they're that good.

My husband works near BWI and everytime his boss offers to buy lunch for the group, G & M is the first choice and everyone gets a crabcake sub! I grew up in New England, eating lobster, and had never heard of a crab cake until I moved here for college. Then I waitressed at a crab house. We were allowed to have crab once a week as our shift meal but we'd fight over left over cream of crab soup at the end of the night. :teeth:

After two early disappointments, it has never again occured to me to order crabcakes anywhere but here!

Welcome to the Dis ananas! I'm honored to be your 1st post!
I love crab everything... But lobster....yummm! I could easily live on that too.

Edited to Add: Stuffed (with crab of course!) Lobster Tail would be my choice for a last meal...
