I know it depends on what you like...but I'd love to hear some opinions. Also some tips on the character breakfasts would be great. We're planning a trip in May '08 and my sons will have just turned 6.

I read in another forum a tip to come late to the breakfast (11:00) to avoid the crowd and have more time with Mickey, et al. Do others think that's a good idea?

Thanks!:)

It is smaller than Crystal Palace and very silly and fun. Ask for the back room (silly looking room) when you check-in vs. the front area that looks like generic hotel decor.

I guess it really depends on the characters that your kids are interested in. Our first trip to WDW was when our daughters were 2 and 4. Our only meal at Disney was Pooh's breakfast at CP. My girls are 12 and 14 now and Breakfast with Pooh is a must on every trip. I think there we be a major revolt if we missed it.

CM and CP are both good and fun. Also consider the Play and Dine at MGM. That is fun too (though I would go with either CM or CP first).

We love eating at O'hana (at the POLY Resort) for the
Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo and Stitch.
Anyone can make ADRs at O'hanas (you do not have to
stay at this resort).

It's so much fun and the food is very good!!

There is a Kids parade with the Characters around the restaurant.
You can get many of the Charcaters Autographs:
Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto at O'hanas.
What a Neat Place to Eat!
Plus it's close to MK so after we eat we head to MK on the
Monorail. :thumbsup2

My twins (DD, DS) will be almost 5 when we go again -- it will be their 3rd trip. Although, we have been to most of the character meals (CP, H&V, Norway, CRT, etc) -- we LOVE Chef Mickey's, and going again. My kids watch LIttle Einstein's, JoJo, and most Disney shows...but the excitement at CM is uncomparable, in my opinion. We go there on our arrival night (as many do) for dinner -- and will continue to do it every year.

We have tried several and I recommend 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. We have 3 boys and 1 girl and we all loved it. The food was great and our waitress gave us special smoothies she said they were included in our dining package. Mad Hatter was very entertaining.

I appreciate your recommendations. This will help us narrow down our choices some. Sounds like more than one person liked Chef Mickey's.

I now actually remember where I heard the tip to go late to the character breakfast. My wife read it to me from the Unofficial Guide to DisneyWorld book (not an endorsement). It says to go to the park first and enjoy some rides before it gets too crowded. Then go to the character breakfast around 11am when most people will have finished their meal and be on the way out so you can enjoy your "brunch" and have less competition for the characters' attention. Anyone care to weigh-in on whether this would be a good idea or not?

We've done that at CP -- get a 1045 or so ADR and it was our lunch (we had breakfast in the room around 7:30 because little tummies can't wait that long for food). DS didn't care that it was breakfast food...he liked the Pooh waffles, the eggs, the fruit, the mini muffins.

We did get lots of character time then, because the place was clearing out. I recommend it!

We were there last month and we did 3 character meals with DS(6) and DS(2.5). They loved all 3: Crystal Palace for breakfast...it was our 1st morning at Magic Kingdom...what a great way to start our vacation. It was GREAT! They also enjoyed Play and Dine...but their absolute favorite was dinner at Chef Mickey! They talk about it all the time! I don't know if they actually ate anything but they had a blast! We ended our vacation with CM...what a great ending to a magical week!:)
