On our last trip, two cast members really stood out! When we met Alice in Wonderland (in Epcot) she was fantastic! She spent a long time talking to my daughter. She asked if her baby brother ever cried and told her about crying so much she flooded the whole room. When we came home and watched the movie, my daughter was so excited to see that scene! Then she came over to meet my son in his stroller. Before I could stop him, he gallantly offered her a piece of chewed on cheese off his tray. I was so surprised when she thanked him profusely and tucked it in her pocket. I bet her pockets are full of icky stuff by the end of the day!

A cast member in Japan also really made my daughter's day. She was sharing her origami creations and my daughter still has hers and has played with it until it is worn thin.

Again she took time to really talk with her and made her feel so special!

On past trips, a streetmosphere police officer gave my daughter a ticket for excessive cuteness and a waiter at the Hoop Dee Doo was so great that we still laugh about his antics.
What have been your best experiences?

I have two.

My avatar is from our 2006 trip when we took DS1 for the first time (and our only trip with just 1 kid!). It was our first day. DH hadn't been to Disney since 1985 and was in the process of figuring out my love for WDW. We went to ToT. We knew DS couldn't ride, but we didn't know how rider switch worked yet. We got in the line, only to be told at the elevator that we couldn't do the switch off there. DH got on, and DS and myself were escorted down a stairwell to the elevator exit area. The CM, completely in character, went and got a little outfit for DS to wear. The name tag says 'Junior Bellhop.' He then stationed DS in front of the shaft for my DH's elevator. When the doors opened, he had DS say, "Welcome back." My DH was so surprised. I think I was crying over the cuteness. That's when DH looked at me and said, "Okay, I get the magic part now."

My second is an event from our last year's trip. I've mentioned on the boards before about how my DD erased the memory card on our camera after the princesses came by at Akershus. I told the server, she told someone else, and they took DD over to a chair in a not so busy part of the restaurant. All of the princesses (except Belle at the door and Cinderella) came back by. The princesses had all been told what happened. DD was still a bit teary when the first one, Ariel, arrived. Ariel kept telling her about how those things can get so crazy (think Ariel and her love of human things), and then proceeded to dance with her. Since Cinderella couldn't come back, we were given a front of the line pass to see Aurora over in France. The whole experience blew me away and merited a praise email back to Disney!

I love these stories! I'll add a couple when I don't have a baby in my arms, we have many!

Love this story! Seeing someone else "get" it is the best. I love the pictures of my husband from our first trip when I could just see in his face that he was starting to understand.

Oh good! I would love to read them.

When we took our second DD for her first trip, she was 18 months old, we went to MVMCP. DH was wearing her on his back, she was sound asleep and we decided to go bring our 3 year old to meet Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip. Prince Phillip saw her and began pretending she was sleeping beauty. Then he leaned over and kissed her - and she woke up pixie dust: my older DD was SOOOOOO excited. Prince Philip then spent a few more minutes talking to both girls about their trip. It was so wonderful.

Another Character m&g, same trip, - Alice - it's ALWAYS Alice. First we were in EPCOT in England and Alice was in front of a long line of people, it was our turn and DD walked right up and started talking to ALice like they were old friends. We started to usher DD away, but Alice looked up and said, 'It's okay, most children don't talk to me, it's so refreshing to meet someone who loves to explore as much as I do" She continued to chat for a while longer then wished us well and we were on our way.

Same trip - this was an amazing trip! It was late, DH and I both had sleeping angels on our backs - princess dresses and glitter everywhere - we wanted to get some MR. potato head parts in MK. We filled our boxes and went to pay, 2 young CMs saw our woefully inadequately stuffed boxes and said there was no way they'd let us pay for those, unless we let them stuff them for us. So they had a contest to see which one could stuff more into each box. We left with over twice what we'd originally had - in each box! And we had a great time laughing with the CMs in the meantime.

A different trip, MNSSHP, we met ALice, same thing, long line, same thing, my girls just chattered away with her. She sat right down on the ground and chatted with them about their trip, at home, the garden, Disney. It was so wonderful!

Yet another trip we were leaving EPCOT late afternoon, our girls ere (still) wearing their dresses and hair from BBB the day before. They were hot, tired, cranky, and frankly, so was I. But As we're about to leave a CM sees our long faces, pulls out the magic bubbles and within moments we have 2 happy little girls running and chasing them with glee. The CM then called a photo pass photographer over and he snapped a whole pile of photos for us. I could never have gotten the shots he did, and if I had, I'd have missed so much. Both CMs played with our girls and helped them get enough energy to get back to the resort without a melt down.

I could add more if I add in our wonderful chef and server interactions. Dining at Disney is so magical!

We met so many wonderful CMs, especially character ones. Snow White was so sweet and welcoming and made me feel very special despite being a almost 20 year old and the characters at 1900 Park Fare were just fantastic, especially the Step Sisters.

The CMs at Big Thunder Mountain were amazing too. We went up one night to see if we could ride during Wishes, but the line was still 40 minutes long. I was disappointed, but a kind CM gave us a hand written fastpass to get on! It really is magical riding during Wishes, and the perfect way to end our trip.

That's awesome! Some CMs really do know how to make a person's day/night!:goodvibes

These are such great stories! Love hearing them!

I have to share...sorry it's long. We were on one of the internal busses to get to the hoop de doo show at the campgrounds. My five year old inadvertently left his small Mickey on the bus. (It was one of those two or three inch magnetic hands ones-like a $6 toy). We realized way too late. After dinner we stopped at the Outpost-or whatever the main office is at the Campground-and asked if perhaps one of the bus drivers had dropped it off. I totally knew it was a lost cause-I'm sure some other happy five year old was loving on Mickey! - but I promised my son that I'd at least ask. No big deal, wasn't there-of course. I promised that I'd get him a new one, they had tons at the resort shop. As we turned to leave, the young CM said, "wait, let me try one more place". She went in the back and a minute later came out with a full sized Chip and a Dale stuffed animals - with a red and blue balloon bouquet for my boy. She said, "I'm so sorry that you lost your Mickey, I hope these guys can help". I was balling-and I am still tearing up as I remember it. I was so touched that she went so "above and beyond". I was speechless-and the whole counter staff of CM's clapped when she gave the gift to my boy. As I was thanking her, over and over, the manager came over and said, "this is Disney magic. We don't want anyone to be sad." They had me for life at that point. I'll forever be grateful for that kindness. He sleeps with Chip and Dale every night. Doesn't get any better than that. :-)

First disney moment that made me want to come back over and over was:
DD5 (now 18) was waiting to see snow white (fav princess at that time). While waiting a family cut in front. Was not happy to say the least, but held my tongue. Snow talked with other family. After they left she walked my daughter to the well talking with her the whole way. She never forgot.
My wife just posted the same thing so we will see how we differ. Both on devices at same time:)

Have to add a couple. :)
Our first trip with our oldest, who is now married, we were waiting to see Snow White. This was before handlers. As she walked up another family cut right in front of us and started gushing over her. Ummm....hello...were we invisible? Only been standing here for 15 minutes! So, anyway, Snow White graciously signed the little girl's book and sends them on their way. Then she turns to our DD and starts a conversation with her, takes her by the hand, and talks with her all the way up to the well.

Second I'll share was from our last visit. We were eating at 1900 Park Fare and since our girls both have Celiac, there were no desserts they could have. When it was time for dessert, the chef came out with a dessert that he made from ice cream, brownies, bananas, and chocolate sauce that, I swear, was a foot high. Made their night!

There is a magical moment from a cast member that we never will forget. Our boys had decided to wear there newly purchased Pirate costumes to Epcot one day. As we rounded a corner, we saw a Geisha. She came right up to the boys and spent the next 15 minutes with them. She even had a 5 minute 'battle' with our eldest son where she used part of her Kimono as her weapon! The boys have aspergers (high functioning autism) so communication and eye contact are often not the easiest for them, but this Cast Member was so patient and lovely. We will never forget the happiness she bought our boys pixiedust:

Ohhhh This was the asian chef??? :)

He is so sweet and wonderful! I wish I knew his name! I always forget the moment we leave. He has created so many fancy desserts for our girls for he same reason. He also made some fun salmon with chezzie type treats on top b/c what they had wasn't safe for us. And another time it was our oldest girls birthday - so he brought her out a chocolate Mickey - free. One of those ones that cost $25 on it's own :cloud9: our little girl was in heaven as she took almost 3 days to eat Mickey. She even shared with her sisters! :cool1:

On the first trip I ever took as an adult with DH and out oldest was just a wee babe. DD and I arrived at Disney in the afternoon - Dh wasn't due to arrive until late that night. I won't get into the reasons, but I was having a horrible, horrible day. And I was trying to catch a cart from the lobby to my room at Coronado, but they were all full. I was in the hot sun with a baby in a 20lb carseat for way too long. I couldn't lug her all the way and bell services had my buggy. I went to get my buggy, but they wouldn't give it to me - :confused3 - I burst into tears. Poor guy looked a little frightened. So he called for a cart for me, and someone to get my bags ASAP to my room. I felt so silly, but they got me all settled, and when I tried to give the guy a tip, he refused, I insisted, so he took it. All in all. I was just done. The next day Dh and our traveling companions were all there, we went to the parks, but when we returned to our room, DH and I had a gift package there. Wine, wine glasses, several cheeses and crackers, and some fruit. PLus a note from the gentlemen who'd helped me out - the one who's called for the cart, and the one who brought my bags. Wishing us a magical vacation, and they hoped this would help make my trip better than it had started. The gift package was worth much more than the tip I gave. And it really did cheer me up so much.

1900 Park Fare. My 9 year old son got his first Dance, kiss, and got engaged to one of the step sisters! We still watch the video years later.

This simple one struck me last year. I was sitting out front at Wilderness Lodge waiting on some friends. I noticed a valet driver doing something very carefully with his foot while waiting on the next guest to arrive. After he left, I got up to see what it was. He had "drawn" a perfect hidden Mickey out of the water that leaked from a previous car's AC. I know it's silly and very small, but it illustrated how everyone is always focused on creating a magical visit.

These magical stories are why we love Disney so much! Tianna once talked to my ds for what seemed like fovever because in her words he was the most polite child she had encountered. She gave him a big wet lipstick kiss which we were not allowed to wash off.
To the nurses who helped me with my autistic niece during a meltdown. Loving and caring.
To the cast members who came up and thanked me for dancing with my son during the move it shake it parade. He said he could tell I was in pain ( wearing a pretty intense knee brace) but knew I did what I did for my ds and to make memories. Or the wonderful people who found my son's Disney jacket and actually turned it in. So many stories of magic. Many too personal to share, but keep us coming back year after year. So inlove with the Disney experience, the Disney Magic.

Yes! It is the magic. More powerful than any line or cranky guest that keeps us coming back time and again.

One of my most magical memories was actually AS a CM.It was just before the MSEP, families were lined up waiting for the parade, it was our job to try to keep them entertained. Asking trivia questions, telling Disney approved jokes, handing out stickers, and finding just the right person to use some magic to turn off the lights to Main Street so the parade could start.

There was a little girl about 4 years old, dressed up as snow white. I brought her up into the middle of main street, we rubbed some pixie dust on her hands, and when she clapped her hands together the lights went out and the parade music began. The look on her face, pure joy. It was even better b/c during the parade snow white was walking, and stopped to shake her hand and say thank you for starting the parade. That little girl was so thrilled. We saw them again 2 days later, she was still wearing her dress. :good vibes

Fifteen years and I still recall some of those moments. I often wonder if the families recall them as much as I do.

That is pure Disney Magic :). I bet the little girl and her family will remember that forever xx
