I have had people do some really great stuff at universal. Some employees go out of their way to make sure I have fun. What great things have cast members done to you to make your trip great?

Dick, who works the USF gates. He's so incredibly enthusiastic about those hand stamps, I don't know how he does it. If I see him working, I get a handstamp even though I don't need it.

And Dick also works the entrance at park opening. He always calls us by name and mentions how I look ten years younger in person than what my picture on my AP looks like. Then he tells my teenage sons that they look at least 5 years older. Makes us all smile.

All of the staff at MIB are so friendly to us and know that my husband is going to lose our refillable cup on the ride so they always retrieve it for us and have it waiting for us when we return. It's almost a joke now.

Two of the employees have met us at the park on their day off just to ride MIB with us or to catch a few other attractions with my teen sons. One of the guys rode ET with them just so they could make up silly names ---nothing risque--just Dufus, Theophilus, Grinch, etc.---my sons are easily amused

So THAT'S Dick? I've went through his line before. He told me and my mom the "10 years younger" line. :p :p Man's a hoot. I didn't say anything but seriously, my AP looks like I'm 10 years younger...not me in person (only Barry has seen it...and then it wore out and I got a new one. Now this one is wore out and I need to replace it...my AP doesn't expire until March!! :p) My mom said my old AP made me look like an 6-year old alien.

I'm usually the one doing stuff: accomodating people places, giving massive amounts of detailed information (restaurants, tour recommendations, etc), whatever.

And just where can I find you doing stuff tomorrow (Saturday)? Hmmm....tap...tap...tap...I'm still waiting.

I'll be at UF tomorrow morning mostly at MIB. See if you can haul your "stuff" over there and say "Hi."

No can do. You'll have to come to my location, but you may not be able to see me. I'm not far from MIB if you take the right route.

Or am I?

We have seen Dick many times and he always catches me wearing something Disney and makes a big thing out of it!!! I really like him.

Okay tally so far:

2 unnamed USF employees: 1

Dick: 3

DM: 1 (by HIMSELF!! :earseek: )

I also remember Dick, he's always a breath of fresh air at the end of a hard park day. I once went in April, then again in May and he actually remembered me!! Wow! This guys must stamp a million people a week!

I guess there aren't too many 4 foot eleven LOUD women coming to the parks... :p

I would LOVE to vote for the elusive Mr. Marauder if I could just meet him!

Why Robin, I had no idea that even you have not met the Dark Marauder! I would have thought you would have been in the "know"....;) ... unfortuantely, I don't know any cast members at U. by name......but anyone who smiles, is friendly and trys to do a good job gets my vote.

I like the ride ops in MIB. They are always joking around and make the place much more lively and fun and they praise you on your score. There seem to have been the same few guys there since it opened.

dark marauder will get my vote if in April when im there he says hello. I will wear a green ribbon ;-). lol .and u have to kiss my fiance on the cheek. So you have to say hello to everyone with green ribbon.

Oh yes, I have to agree with the MIB ride ops!! I've gotten teased by many of the guys there. One guy I talked to today was very nice. :)

I haven't seen Dick in a long time, but he always has a smile, even when it is 100 degrees out! I even wrote him a compliment letter. More employees ought to be like Dick.

Anyway, there was one who worked at Jimmy Neutron. I don't remember his name, but I was with Robin. She went into line first while I bought the Express Pass Plus. I was about 20 people behind Robin and I called her on her cellphone to tell her such. I would have been happy to ride alone, but when it was Robin's turn to board, she pointed at me. The Neutron ride op said, "Hey, hurry up! Come on up! What are you waiting for?" So I squeezed through a few people to get up. Line jumping isn't a sport, but when you're called, you've got to move! That's my most memorable memory of Universal.

There's also a ride op at Back to the Future who is pretty good, so I've heard. :)

In order to make a significant impression on me, a crew member (as opposed to the Disney-esque 'cast member' -- notice off-limit areas at USF say "production crew only"') must perform beyond what they're expected to.

I think most Universal and Disney employees do their jobs very well, are very nice and personable and informative, but I also consider that part of their job at a theme park. An outstanding crew member goes above and beyond what's expected of them, where it seems like what they're doing is more then just their job.

My vote goes to Courtney at the dog kennel. I recently used the kennel and at first felt bad about leaving my dog and unsure about how the whole thing worked, but as soon as I met Courtney her entire attitude and treatment made me feel completely comfortable. She wasn't just nice and thorough; it seemed like she truly cared about the animals she was entrusted with and understood their owners apprehension. It seemed like it was more then just a job, that she went the full length because she really wanted to.

My honorable mention would be Vinod, the turnstile attendant at Islands of Adventure. Granted, he started being nice to me after I felt he was rude to me and I complained to guest services. Then again, he started being nice to me because I started being nice to him after I felt bad for complaining about him to guest services. Never the less, we now greet each other when we're both there, and he's genuinely personable to me as an individual.
