Looking for the best car deal for two weeks starting 28th May 2005. We are travelling from England and want to pick up our car from Stanford airport. There are two adults and two children in our party, only 1 driver required and he is aged over 25. We are looking for a car and insurance package to beat what is offered by our holiday company which is an intermediate car with platinum insurance for two weeks, tax and everything included for £364.00. I'm sure you can save me lots of money.....

Look at Mousesavers.com.

Try this:

I just went there , looked at the rental page, followed a link to National and came up with a full car rental package - including ins - for £200 less than your Platinum quote.
I put it in for 17 days as well (the length of time we went for) so 14 days would be less

Wow!
Forget I said that about National. Just went back to the site and did another calculation for when you'll be there and it came out at a silly price for an Intermediate car - around £470 at todays' exchange rate.
Not good :sad2:
Hopefully someone will have better advice :goodvibes .

I have no idea what platinum insurance is..... but I went to the National site using coupon and contract codes found on Mousesavers, plugged in May 28 -June 11 and found an intermediate for $219.88 US (£114) - this is for car rental base price and taxes. If you add on Loss Damage Waiver, Personal Accident Insurance, and Supplemental liability Insurance, it brings this cost up to $750 US or so for two weeks. If you don't add the LDW, but only the PAI and SLI, the cost is around $456 US (£238).

Here in Canada we can get gold Visa cards (no annual fee) that include loss damage insurance on car rentals.... that's an option for you that would help to decrease the cost.
