Best Burgers on DCL?

Hello, Everyone!

My family will be sailing on the Magic in September, and my favorite food is a hamburger. DH and I are counting calories between now and then, so I know I'm going to be MORE than ready for a big yummy burger by the time we get on board.

Where is the best place on the DCL ships to get a burger, if I decide I must have one on board? MDR at lunch? Quick Service (e.g. Pluto's Dog House)? Room Service?

Oh, and has anyone had any success ordering a burger in a MDR during dinner? Can't imagine that I would want to, but just in case...

DD wanted a hamburger at dinner one night when it wasn't on the kid's menu. They sent someone to Pluto's to get one for her.

I do not want to bust you bubble but as far as my family is concerned Disneys burgers are pretty nasty and dry.

I don't know if you mean on the ship...but the ones in the parks are yukky. To get a good burger at WDW, go to Pepper Market at Coronado Sprints. MUCH better, and still one counter service if you are on the meal plan.

Yes on the ship...the ones they serve on deck are horrible IMHO

The ones in the MDR for lunch are very good.
The pool side burgers sit in a warmer for a while and are "assembled" before your eyes. go for the MDR for a burger..

p.s. I'm a big burger fan as well…

I like my meat pink, even my burgers. Because of health codes, DCL must cook all of their burgers well done. I hate them. So of course I craved a good, juicy burger the rest of the trip. It was so bad after I did the 14 night Transatlantic in 2007 that I had my friend bring me a burger to the airport when he picked me up. Ever since then I have avoided the burgers while on a cruise. Last month I decided to go ahead and give the ones from Cookies a try. Let's just say, I won't be doing that again.

Sounds like we'll be doing lunch in Lumiere's at least one day! At least we've got several days to choose from, since we've got three Sea Days on our cruise .

Will have to check out Beaches and Cream on our next trip to WDW .

Burger on Deck 9 (or 11 on Dream and Fantasy) YUCK!

Burger at Cookies on Castaway Cay was surprisingly good. My DH asked for them to make him one the way he wanted with onions and double cheese slices. He loved it. We were surprised!

sort of kinda of....it is part of WDW and that is good enough for me now I am hungry for a burger.

I love burgers but I avoid them at DCL/WDW. I just don't like them anymore. They used to be okay. I agree they are dry and nasty. IMO.

Not sure if your itinerary includes a WDW day, but if so, there's Le Cellier in Epcot... I've never had the burger there, but I'm assuming it's cooked to order!

Minority opinion here -- I liked the burgers from Pluto's on deck 9! I only had a burger there once but it was hot and moist and yum-my! I might have just lucked out and gotten it right off the grill. I'd do it again, but I'd ask them to give me one right of the grill, or cook one while I wait. They surely would do that. BTW my vegetarian DS13 like their veggieburgers as well.

I ordered a burger in the MDR at lunch on my cruise last April. (Royal Palace) I like my meat rare. They sent the chef out to tell me that they couldn't cook them that way not only due to regulations - BUT that the burgers were not 100% beef. I was told they contained many different thing such as pork, chicken, etc.
