Best buffets - need advice

Hi All!
My wife and I are headed to WDW on March 1st for a 2 day stay (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and maybe MGM).
We love buffets, and money is not an issue, but quality is. Please recommend your favorite (in park, or nearby) buffets. Thank you!!

I really have enjoyed dining at Akershus in Norway. Which at the times that I ate there it was a buffet. It was not very expensive and was very good. They had great marinated cheeses, smoked salmon, salads, and meatballs.

You leave walking funny, because your so full. But, I've read that it was no longer buffet style. I was there this past December and it was still a buffet. I could be wrong now, but if it still is, you can't miss it.

Garden Grille at The Land is not a buffet, but it is all you can eat. They serve a variety of foods 'Family Style' in a skillet. There is something for everyone, and drinks and desserts are included. 'Ohana at the Poly is also Family-Style, I believe.

My husband and I always do the following two character meals.

1. Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare located at the GF.
2. Dinner at Chef Mickey's located at the CR.

We find the food to always be fresh and hot and the service very good at both buffets. They are must do's for us with Chef Mickey's being our traditional last full day in the World dinner.

If you make your way over to Ft Wilderness, Trail's End has a great buffet. They are open for all meals, and this is truly one of the last bargains in "the world." The dinner has all kinds of homestyle food -- fried chicken, roast beef, corn, mashed potatoes, soup, a salad bar, breads and rolls, and lots of desserts. We always have dinner here at least once when we visit WDW. The lunch menu is similar. An adult dinner is $14.99 and is all-you-can-eat.

Here's a second vote for Trail's End. Very economical and good food. We always eat at Chef Mickey's. We have had both dinner and breakfast, but much prefer dinner. However, our favorite buffet (breakfast and dinner) is Boma's at Animal Kingdom Lodge. WOW! Great food!!!

Crystal Palace breakfast is our favorite, favorite, favorite meal!!! Chef Mickey's for breakfast is our second favorite!!!

Their dinner is good also. 1900 Park Faire is always nice. Breakfast and othe meals.

The family style places do offer an endles supply and many of them are VERY good.

LTT and the place in the Poly are very good.

Trail's End & Crystal Palace are our two favorites; they're followed by Biergarten in Germany at WS & Chef Mickey's for the best character interaction & Cape May Cafe for the seafood & ribs.

My vote is for O'hana's. I guess it's not a buffet but all you can eat. My husband and I hate there twice on our last trip and could not get enough. I also think it is a good price for what you get. I think my husband ate 200 dollars in shrimp alone!!

Another thumbs up for Trail's End. Their food is excellent and the price can't be beat. Truly one of the best values in WDW, I think.

We also enjoyed dinner at Cape May. They have a kid's section of the buffet table, and a dessert selection to die for!

Best Breakfast buffet: 1900 Park Faire at Grand Floridian very convenient to the MK.

Best Lunch buffet: Hollywood and Vine at MGM

Best Dinner buffet: Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club (very convenient to both Epcot and MGM.

Best cheap buffet: Trails End (not very convenient, but I have heard it is worth it)

To say it simply: BOMA!

You will not regret eating dinner there.

The quality is the best I have ever seen in a buffet (and we love buffets, too) The food is put out in small quantities so it is always fresh. You can see the chefs preparing it right behind the serving stations.

The variety is amazing. Lots and lots of interesting spiced (not hot or spicy, but interesting) dishes, especially vegetable dishes. I am not a soup person usually, but the 6 or so different soups were too much to resist. Yum! Even the "ordinary" dishes are fantastic. When I saw the prime rib I thought "Oh I can get prime rib any time" but I gave into temptation - so glad I did, it was fork tender.

And of course there are those desserts. Zebra cakes are the most famous, but I really liked the banana bread pudding with vanilla sauce. Me, whose middle name is usually "chocolate!"

Thank goodness Animal Kingdom lodge is so beautiful - you will want to walk around afterwards

The only regret you will have about Boma is if you make it your last meal at Disney, removing all possible options of a second meal there!

Boma, I forgot Boma. It makes for a good excuse to get to AKL. The buffet is about the best there is for any meal.

I highly recommend that you try Boma at the AKL. They seat as late at 9 or 9:30 (but get a PS) so you do not have to miss out on time at the parks during your short trip.

We have not tried all of these suggestions yet, but so far, the best is O'Hana, it is nice sitting there watching the MK fireworks and have the music piped in.

We will try Boma on our next trip.

We gat back from WDW at the end of January and did alot of buffets - 1900 Park Faire, Boma, Biergarten, Cape May, Ohana and Crystal Palace.

I strongly recommend BOMA - it is by far the best of all the buffets.

I also recommend Ohana and Crystal Palace (each for dinner). I was particulary impressed with Crystal Palace, in part because I did not expect it to be very good.

I cannot recommend either Cape May or 1900 Park Faire.

Trail's End, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Ohana...all very good choices. One that we haven't tried yet but will soon is Boma. We have heard so many good things about Boma that we plan to try it.
