best airline miles program?

I currently have a Disney Chase Visa, and I LOVE it. But, after our trip this August we are going to be taking different vacations (been to DW three times in two years), I want to sign up for an airline rewards program that rewards spending more than flying. We don't take big trips too often, so enrolling in a program, like Southwest, won't really benefit us since we are not big fliers.

Can you recommend a program? Something like, The More You Spend The More Miles You Get? That's us!

Wow. Your not asking for much, are you?!!

My favorite is diners club but thats because we own a small business. We charge all the overhead that we possibly can to the card and then use the points to pay for travel. The nice thing is that we can book the airfare ourselves and then have dc credit our statement against the tickets using x points per dollar. Plus there are no blackout dates or limited flights since Im getting a statement credit and not going thru the airline to get my ticket. And Im not tied down to using any specific airline. They do it for any flight you book, with whomever you choose to book.

I believe that capital one venture card has a similar way of operating and it isnt for businesses. No annual fee.

Where do you plan on traveling to/from for your alternate vacations? Honestly, domestic coach awards are some of the worst values out there. If you are good at watching the airlines website you can get tickets in the sub $300 range. It normally takes $25,000 in spend to earn 25,000 in points to get a domestic "saver" award. For that same $25,000 in spend you could two and half nights at a category 4 Starwood hotel. For example the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco is a beautiful hotel and averages $220+tax night. That same 25K in spend could be worth a lot more in hotel points.

If you don't mind opening cards just for the initial points bonus I would reccomend the American Airlines Advantage Visa which comes with a 75,000 point bonus after $4,000 in spend with the first six months.

I am not a fan of AA in general but 75K is worth it! It is 100K rountrip to Europe in business class so that gets me 75% of the miles needed!

jet blue is no expiration on miles if you have the credit card (actually, they may have just changed it last year to no expiration to everyone...i can't remember off the top of my head. It is Amex branded, and $40 annual fee

I use my united miles way more, because we ended up using them for a trip and had a bunch of miles already, I think they are visa and $60 annual fee

the only thing i don't like is that united miles is not tradeable on points.com
