Best 2BR location at VWL?

We're staying at VWL in October with our kids & in-laws. We have stayed once before in a studio and had a nice location. I have heard that some of the rooms are quite a hike from the main lodge. I also just read in another post that the corner 2 BRs are a little bigger.

I'm wondering if I should try to request a room in a certain area, or just see what we get. Our two youngest kids will both be under 3 so they'll be in a stroller, so I'm also trying to decide whether I should request first floor. Any advice?

I think it's a good idea to always give MS some requests. At a minimum, you should indicate whether you want smoking or non-smoking.

Personally, we like being fairly close to the elevators since we tend to spend some time around WL and its pool. So we don't just leave the room and go back once a day. But the elevators are very quick...never had a long wait. And they seem pretty roomy so two strollers (or a double) shouldn't be a problem.

We like a balcony so we prefer to avoid the first floor. But if I had two small children, I might be more comfortable with the first floor. The balconies have chairs and tables that would be too easy for a small one to climb up on and explore the other side of the railing!!

If your children need afternoon naps, you might want to avoid a room overlooking the quiet pool, since it's not all that quiet during the day. Most of the woods views are very nice and peaceful, but some are pretty far from the elevators. Hard to go wrong with almost any room there. But by all means, try to avoid Spiceycat's dreaded last room overlooking the trash area!

Thanks, I also enjoy having a balcony but I can just picture my son trying to go over the railing! They do nap during the day so I think I'll try to request a quiet first floor room. Thanks again for the input!
