Bendy & Her Friendies V2 ... This Bar Never Closes! New Thread Started!

We are attempting to make CA Grill's goat cheese raviolis tonight ... with many modifications forced upon us by the lack-wit Stinktown grocers. I shall report back once we're done eating ... we are approaching the boil stage.

I will have you know that because our grocery store doesn't carry egg roll noodles or anything else that we could use we were forced to make our own pasta ... without a pasta machine. :scared1:

I take it that it worked! Where are the pictures?!?!?

Allright friendies, does anyone know what to do about a camera that won't work? I'm ready to strangle DD , she dropped the camera today and it is stuck with the lens out and does nothing when you turn it on or off and the screen stays black. It's a pocket digital camera, the lens pops out when you turn it on and goes back in when you turn it off (yes, I'm quite the expert when it comes to cameras ) or at least it did until I handed it to her to take pics at the golf tournament today. :sad2:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

When mine was knocked to the ground at DL a couple of years ago I discovered very quickly that they cannot be repaired. I had to buy a new camera. :( But, at least you can take the memory card out and have the photos!

Hi friendies! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I went to see Billy Elliot on Broadway in NYC yesterday. Absolutely fabulous show! If you have the chance to see this I would highly recommend it.

We went to Crumbs Bake Shop for dessert. Their specialty is cupcakes -- have over 30 different kinds. For anyone interested the website is crumbs.com -- and they ship too! Never tried this but you might want to after you check out the website, the cupcake pictures look so good!!!

For those of you who have inquired as to how Emma is doing with kindergarten, the answer is that she is loving it. Of course, she gets candy every day as long as the teacher doesn't write her name on the board for misbehaving, so what's not to love?;)

Glad to hear Emma likes kindergarten! My nephew starts next week.

Friendies ... for reasons both known and unknown I really need to know who is going to be stopping by for cake and hugs on October 17th and if you will be alone or traveling with a party of cake-lovahs.

Please please please let me know as soon as possible so that I don't leave anyone in the cold.

:goodvibes

I will definitely be there:thumbsup2 And it will just be me.

The party was really fun!!! Tons of good eats, drinks and times..I have a bunch of pics to share once I download them:) and yes, when you posted at 2 am...We were still hanging out! Needless to say..I am exhausted!
Sounds like a great time. Looking forward to the pictures.

The only suggestion I have would be to bring it into a camera shop. Good luck and hope it gets fixed soon:goodvibes

Ravioli turned out quite well considering it was a first attempt. I took a couple of pictures that I will post tomorrow.

Glad to hear they turned out well. Looking forward to the pictures!

We are really excited about our stay!

Yesterday for most of the day Disney was offering AKL Standard CL with the Fall 40% off code. I couldn't believe it. So, due to the deal, that's where we are staying. :thumbsup2 Just because I was curious I checked today, but the offer for AKL has disappeared.
I booked ASAP, and then called the IPO to see if there was space on the Wanyama Safari. We were lucky, we're booked!:woohoo:
We'll be heading over to Kidani for a late lunch while we are there, so we'll get to see it. :cool1:

That sounds like a great deal! The Wanyama Safari looks great! I just recently found out that you don't have to be staying CL to do it, it just costs more. I am considering doing this in Oct but not sure where I would fit it in or if there's even room. I'll have to check it out.

Sounds like you're going to Sanaa for lunch. It's a really beautiful restaurant and the food was really good. If you can snag a seat by the window you will have a great view of the animals.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Why is there a Weight Watchers banner that pops up when I read this thread?

I am a Weight Watchers member, and I am pretty sure I've mentioned it here at one time or another. I've gotten the same pop ups, and perhaps that's the reason.

And Brenda, glad the ravioli turned out well!

I had this problem with the lens, although not with the screen staying black. I had dropped my camera in Epcot and the lens got stuck fully extended even when shut off. After fiddling with it and even trying to force it back in I was at the point of running to the camera shop to buy a new camera. As horrifying as this may sound-and it was indeed as a last resort, I then purposely dropped my camera on the ground again. Problem solved. Lens retracted and the camera worked great since then (about 5 years ago now). While I wouldn't normally advocate playing toss with your camera, it worked for me in a situation where I didn't have too many other choices.

I can't wait to see how they turned out. We were eyeballing that recipe too, but we're just too darned lazy.

Brenda, You made ravioli without a pasta machine???!!!! I've made it once with a pasta machine & it took quite a while to do. Can't wait to see your pics!

Bob & I will both be there!

Just popping in to see what everybody's doing--I had to take a break from 3rd grade homework. I took the English and gave dh the math. Give me a predicate any day over a "fact family". That whole math book just makes me go wth??????

At least Dec hours came out today so I can cement (soft set anyway ) my spreadsheet! I am not looking forward to making ADRs though; I have never had this many high demand places to try to get at the same time. CRT, Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, LeCellier, Chef Mickey, 'Ohana, and our CP package. :headache: Dh said he would help me that morning, he-who-has-never-called-Disney. This is the true test of marriage, isn't it? :lovestruc

Thank you! That's a very helpful site :thumbsup2

That is a great link! :thumbsup2

I unknowingly tried all of those "fixes" on my Canon! Unfortunately, it didn't help. But I am hoping Chelle's camera will benefit from one of them and be back in working order soon! ::yes::

Let's call it a work in progress....I got the lens to go back in, even had the screen work for a few minutes. Seems to be killing the battery within minutes and won't turn off now until the battery dies. Sometimes the screen works and sometimes doesn't :confused3 Hasn't taken a picture yet though :sad2: I'm hoping if I let the battery charge all night, that tomorrow it will want to work for me

Ya know, it's crossed my mind :rolleyes1 I'm going to wait till all else fails but it's an option.

Glad the breakfast worked out & thanks for the good wishes with the camera. If you need help making your ADR's let me know, just send a PM.

Bendy, I would love to be at your bday party but I don't know what's going to happen. I think we won't know anything till we get close to 30 days out and people drop their ressies before hitting the holding penalty. Sad to say that we're probably a no :sad1:

For those who love to cruise :rolleyes1 I forgot to mention, DCL announced a few things today. Major expansion at Castaway Cay & new kids sail free deal on 3 & 4 night cruises this winter/spring. I've got links to video of the expansion plans on the blog :goodvibes

As promised ... here are a couple of pictures from our first attempt at making homemade goat cheese ravioli ala CA Grill. While our finished product looked nothing like that fabu single ravioli at the restaurant, it tasted pretty darn good, so we are encouraged to try it again some day.

Hey! That's not ravioli!
P8300009.jpg

This looks nothing like the appetizer at CA Grill ...

And that's a pretty poor hidden Mickey.

And here's a family portrait from Saturday night ... taken right after we got home from the winery event. Pete was being a big baby so I told Jay to add him to the picture. Please don't look too closely at me ... focus instead on the velvety suaveness that is Handsome Pete. ;)

Really?! That's great! I've been away from the computer all day and missed the info. I've been waiting for the December hours, too. :thumbsup2 What day are you guys getting there? We arrive on the 21st. :goodvibes

The raviolis look great, Brenda... and so do you guys! :goodvibes Thanks for posting the pictures! :thumbsup2

What kind of bread is that?

Our event tonight was actually pretty cool but we didn't really have an opportunity to take any pictures ... no food porn. :scared1:

I would like to say that the staff was real nice-like ... they were also beneficent and magnanimous.

We're still cogitating on the wines ... ;)

The wines were an interesting and thoughtful fusion of wet and dry. I never really contemplated how it was that a liquid beverage could be dry, but it's possible. It was a totally cromulent experience that embiggened our horizons. :rolleyes1

Chelle, I hope your camera comes back to life soon!

My pasta actually turned out really well ! Greg loved it, so that was a plus...sorry to hear about yours...I hate when that happens!

Count yourself among the lucky that you only have to deal with math and English homework, Jamie. When Emma gets to 3rd grade, she starts Latin.....how the heck am I supposed to help her with that? :lmao:

The raviolis look great, Brenda... and so do you guys! :goodvibes Thanks for posting the pictures! :thumbsup2

What kind of bread is that?

It's just a frozen loaf of sourdough French from Schwans ... we stock up on those and then when we have a bread / cheese crave just toss one in the oven after massaging it with some olive oil and garlic salt.

BTW ... I added your dates to the list - second post on the first page if you want to see what everyone else's travel dates look like. :goodvibes

Thanks for adding me. We're staying at the Grand Floridian. :thumbsup2 (another perk of Jordan's CM job - 50% off rooms!)

Are you sure Handsome Pete wasn't at the winery with you? He's looking kinda tispy in that photo.

And nice looking raviolis! I make pasta at home all the time and yours look good to me.:thumbsup2
