Gina, I hope your bachelorette party is a blast! (It's still probably going on :lmao:).

I woke up an hour ago and remembered that I have to take breakfast for our Sunday school class this morning--do you see what time it is??????? I have 90% of ingredients to make several things, but not 100% to make any one thing. :headache: I am here perusing recipes because I've already been through my cookbooks. Ugh.

UGH! I am reading this before bed and FEEL SO BAD FOR YOU! Sending love!

Oh and Brenda! You are the coolest kid of the bunch..La Crema or No La Crema on the 19th!;)

Thanks, Chelsi! I think we're just going to have to stop by Atlanta Bread Co. for a danish ring or something. I need to go back to sleep--good night!

Our event tonight was actually pretty cool but we didn't really have an opportunity to take any pictures ... no food porn. :scared1:

I would like to say that the staff was real nice-like ... they were also beneficent and magnanimous.

We're still cogitating on the wines ... ;)

:rotfl2:

I must just be in a snarky mood this weekend ...

I saw a post where someone referenced the F&W "Festavial" ... :rotfl2: ... it sounds like some kind of celebratory disease cooked up in a laboratory.

And then while grocery shopping this morning Jay and I wondered aloud if we would offend X&Y if we started referring to them as Herb and Maggie Spatzle. :confused3 :lmao:

PatriciaH just posted pics live from the new To-Kill-Ya bar in Mexicoland for all you happy drinkers! Looks great!

I've put on my shoes and clicked my heels three times. Why am I not there?!????!?

yes ... the eloquent presentation was also something I really enjoyed. :lmao:

Seriously, one of the most enjoyable reviews I've come across in a long time - just not in the way you'd expect.

I'm also having a hard time picturing a member of the female wait staff at V&A specifically telling a guest that they have a "100% cashmere shawl" available should she get chilly.

Offering a shawl or wrap ... yes, that I can believe. Telling the guest the thread count and fabric make-up is too much of a stretch for me to wrap my head around ... too tacky for V&A.

And if someone offers me a 100% cashmere shawl when we dine at V&A I'm going to have to ask for a substitution ... perhaps merino wool or duponi silk because my skin is too sensitive for cashmere. :snooty:

;)

:lmao::lmao:

I have to go order dishes now. That's food related, right? Why are dishes so dadgum expensive? :headache: Don't dishmakers know I want to go to Disney World?:confused3

Friendies ... for reasons both known and unknown I really need to know who is going to be stopping by for cake and hugs on October 17th and if you will be alone or traveling with a party of cake-lovahs.

Please please please let me know as soon as possible so that I don't leave anyone in the cold.

:goodvibes

Sadly, I will not be there on the 17th, Brenda. But I think you already knew that! ;)

We are in for two please! Can't wait .. this should be fun! Have my Homer Buttons next to our camera ready to roll...

If only we all had those magic shoes! :wizard:

Hey Lori ... my black evening wrap is Pashmina!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hmm, who knew I could foreshadow like that? :lmao:

Just when I thought I was going to do a spittake with my Diet Dr. Pepper, I read this, too:

The wines were an interesting and thoughtful fusion of wet and dry. I never really contemplated how it was that a liquid beverage could be dry, but it's possible. It was a totally cromulent experience that embiggened our horizons. :rolleyes1

:scared1: You're gonna make me lose it if you keep it up! I will smack you if you throw the word "unctuous" in there. I already know your opinions of that word, and I keep hearing Chris Cosentino use it on the Food Network.

Now I need to change my first response and call myself the Omniscient Omnivore. That's just how snarky I am, too. Thppppt.

We are attempting to make CA Grill's goat cheese raviolis tonight ... with many modifications forced upon us by the lack-wit Stinktown grocers. I shall report back once we're done eating ... we are approaching the boil stage.

I will have you know that because our grocery store doesn't carry egg roll noodles or anything else that we could use we were forced to make our own pasta ... without a pasta machine. :scared1:

heh... heh... yup that recipe was the best part of the latest Disney Files! :thumbsup2 Do let us know how it goes! Pasta from scratch... I bet it will be delicious! :goodvibes

We are really excited about our stay!

Yesterday for most of the day Disney was offering AKL Standard CL with the Fall 40% off code. I couldn't believe it. So, due to the deal, that's where we are staying. :thumbsup2 Just because I was curious I checked today, but the offer for AKL has disappeared.
I booked ASAP, and then called the IPO to see if there was space on the Wanyama Safari. We were lucky, we're booked!:woohoo:
We'll be heading over to Kidani for a late lunch while we are there, so we'll get to see it. :cool1:

Very cool! You're going to have a great time :goodvibes

does this mean dinner turned out better than expected?

Allright friendies, does anyone know what to do about a camera that won't work? I'm ready to strangle DD , she dropped the camera today and it is stuck with the lens out and does nothing when you turn it on or off and the screen stays black. It's a pocket digital camera, the lens pops out when you turn it on and goes back in when you turn it off (yes, I'm quite the expert when it comes to cameras ) or at least it did until I handed it to her to take pics at the golf tournament today. :sad2:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Why is there a Weight Watchers banner that pops up when I read this thread?

Ouch! That sounds like our luck with cameras (video, pictures, you name it.) I would just take it to Ritz Camera or somewhere and let them look at it and diagnose the problem. We took a Nikon to them a couple of years ago and the guy was able to check it out right there and give us a price for repair. Sorry about all that!

By the way, breakfast was saved by Kroger's bakery. They make a very good cinnamon pecan danish!

Gina, I hope the pasta you made last night turned out better than mine....I tried a new Rachael Ray recipe, and while I normally love her recipes, this one was not a keeper! It wasn't horrible....just really bland.

.
My pasta actually turned out really well ! Greg loved it, so that was a plus...sorry to hear about yours...I hate when that happens!

The party was really fun!!! Tons of good eats, drinks and times..I have a bunch of pics to share once I download them:) and yes, when you posted at 2 am...We were still hanging out! Needless to say..I am exhausted!

oooh does that mean homemade ravioli turned out yummy!?????

Ravioli turned out quite well considering it was a first attempt. I took a couple of pictures that I will post tomorrow.

Gina ... glad to hear you had a good time at your party!

Jamie ... hooray for some grocery stores that actually have what you need!

Chelle ... sorry I can't help; I'm only good at breaking things or mistakenly placing items in the washing machine that have no business being there. Me no fix ... only breakie breakie. I hope you're able to salvage the camera.

Briarmom ... I think it must be selective advertising. How dare they assume that because we love food everyone on this thread needs to lose weight??? :rotfl2:
