It was at a restaurant called the Chateau, which is an italian place. Yummy food and the view was very pretty ..as it was on the water..

Here is the AMAZING cupcake tower:

SOO GOOD..there were a ton extra..needless to say, a cupcake a day is a good way to live ;)
Here is the favor the girls made: cupcake pops! I believe they are chopped up bits of cupcake blended with frostiing, formed into cupcakes and then covered with ganache and stuck on a stick!!!! I haven't even had mine yet..but i think that is going to change tonight:

Italian food does not photograph well..but there is a toasted ravioli, stuffed shell and some of the chicken parm.
DSCN4046.jpg

The girls had fresh orchids shipped from hawaii spread all over the tables..and they made me a beautiful lei as well

Yum, Gina! Your friends did a magnificent job on your shower! Very pretty.

Thanks everyone for all the TiW information ... I'll have to see if I can find a DVC email in my box about this.

Gina ... your pictures are great! What a lovely shower your friends gave you ... I'd like to dive into that cupcake tower right now! You, my friendie, are going to be a gorgeous bride!

What a great shower! That cupcake tower is just wonderful looking.:lovestruc

Do you know who the cupcakery was that supplied them? I'm a cupcake-aholic (it has been 5 days since my last cupcake) and I like to check out bakeries online for baking/decorating ideas.

Gina,

What beautiful shower pictures. The cupcake tower looks magnificent. And of course you look very happy and pretty too. :goodvibes

"cupcake-aholic"..lol!!:lmao:
thanks!!! The cupcake tower was a BIG hit..it was actually all made by my friend Kate's cousin Ann who does it on the side!! She doesn't have a company or anything..and let me tell you..the homemade lemon curd in the center of the cupcakes...to DIE for..she does amazing things!! :thumbsup2

I'm back from Disney :sad1: It was a great trip and we had loads of fun. It was much hotter and much more crowded than when I usually go (I feel really spoiled saying that) but that said, it really was not as bad as I expected. We took breaks in the middle of the day which really helped with the heat. The worst crowds I saw were the last day in Epcot -- 110 minutes for Soarin and 60-80 for Test Track:eek: No thanks!

Kidani Village and the Treehouses were both beautiful. I preferred Kidani as the Treehouses were kind of remote. We ate tons of food (sorry I don't have any food porn -- my friends are not patient with this...) and really didn't have a bad meal. The Wishes dessert party was great -- lots of yummy desserts and a great viewing area. I'd definitely do it again.

Now back to reality. It was so hard going back to work but now I'm counting down until the F&W trip!

Lot's to catch up on here I see :goodvibes Looks like the friendies have been chatting away!

Michelle, so jealous that you are going to see Springsteen tonight. Hope it's a great time! I haven't seen him in a few years and could not manage to score any tickets for the fall dates here in NJ. Nothing like seeing Bruce in Giants stadium!!

Gina, beautiful pictures of your shower. Hope it was a really special day for you. Looks like you had a lot of fun! Can you send some of those leftover cupcakes my way? They look delicious!!:cutie:

I'll have to go and catch up some more...

Gina - no wonder you had a good time at your shower. It looked wonderful!

Holy crap! I moved a few thousand miles and now there are 96 pages in a new thread?:scared1:

I miss my boozies. Hopefully I'll have time to catch up a bit in the next few days!!

Hope the move went well! :thumbsup2

The kids go back to school tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have time to catch up on everything, including your blog :goodvibes

The last few days have been crazy. Jon upgraded my laptop to Windows 7yesterday :thumbsup2 No more Vista :yay::banana: but it took most of the day to do it. Today was spent shopping for the right outfit to wear the 1st day of school. It was a very long day, but I think they're both set. Once the kids are back in school I'm hoping that I'll get more done; like uploading pics tomorrow of dinner & sangria from the other night.

BTW, we are working on our F&W plans, DH is planning to call tomorrow to try and get DVC ressies we're using holding points, so it'll be interesting to see what we can get.

Hope the new school year goes great! Are you liking Windows 7? Food and Wine plans--such fun!

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great trip. I'm looking forward to seeing the Treehouses and Kidani Village.

Gina, what a gorgeous shower! Loved the pics-you're going to be a beautiful bride. :goodvibes

Hubby's Dad lives in Ft. Lauderdale. Good to visit, he's getting on in years.
We drove up to Orlando for a day and spent the afternoon with our daughter. We had lunch in Winter Park, and then toured the Orlando Museum of Art. http://www.omart.org/
What a great museum! We flew on points, so the times weren't great, but the price was. Ha..Ha.. We had to leave the house at 4 am on departure day, and we finally got home last night at 1:30am. Oh, well, that'll get the neighbors talking. :rotfl:
Love hearing about everyone's F&W plans! It's just around the corner!!:yay::dance3::yay:

Gina - Your girls did an amazing job! You are going to be a beautiful bride!!!

Robin - Welcome home!

Wow, Gina. What a beautiful spread. The cupcake tower is such a nice change from cake.

You will make a beautiful bride!!! Good Luck.

Good morning! Thanks so much for the wonderful comments..you guys are too sweet  ...Hope everyone has a good "HUMP" day...Wednesday are traditionally annoying around here..so we shall see ;)

OH by the way I never got a chance to tell you about some of the cool kitchen-y things I got at the shower..I did receive a bunch of generous and wonderful gifts, but some the foodie ones i am MOST excited about trying are:
The juicer (mmmm fresh juice!)
The meat grinder attachment for my kitchenaid!! Anyone have one of those already??..very curious about it!
I also got a few fun tools like a pitter, avacado slicer, corn grater...stuff i KNOW you don't need..but looks fun to use ;)

ok I just booked $40 worth of nominal fee demos. $10 of that was for my mother though.

It works for DVC, AP or TIW. You need to put the number of your AP or membership card in.

Now, THAT's a shower party! :thumbsup2 Everything looks wonderful! :lovestruc Congratulations, Gina! May you have a long, happy life together! :cloud9:

Cheers!
Michelle

Congrats to everyone who is able to book the seminars they were hoping for. What a great perk, for a change!

I am off to Charlottesville for my annual VFMC (Virginia Federation of Music Clubs) Fall Board Meeting. There will be much fighting about money as we have to pass a budget today/tonight. Tomorrow we get to tell everyone what they have to do. ;)

I hate fighting with people over money. Espceially when they have no clue how or why it is being used.

I am taking wine.

I may have the opportunity to check in tonight. If not I will be back tomorrow evening. Meanwhile, make the next two days the very best that they can be! :goodvibes

Have a safe trip Elin. Hopefully there won't be too much fighting but you're prepared with alcohol so it's all good.;)

Hi all! Well, DD started kindergarten today.....I was not expecting to feel very emotional about it because she's been going to day care since she was 9 months, but I have to admit that I got a little teary eyed this morning. She of course, could not wait to see the back of me and DH!:lmao:

Gina, amazing looking shower, and congrats on the cool gifts!

Robin and Gin, glad to hear you both had good trips.

Briarmom, glad to see that you are safely settled in (even if it is in Texas!)

Elin, have a great trip!

Thanks for the info on that!! I had no idea it was going to be that extensive...sounds awesome! :thumbsup2

Hope everyone had a nice weekend..i was "computerless" yesterday due to a server failure at work..so all day i was waiting for the big square machine to be up and running so i could Dis..ok, and work...that is what they pay me for anyway.. :)

I had my bridal shower Sunday..it was really nice :) Lots of yummy italian food and an AMAZING cupcake tower..I have pictures..just need to transfer them over..the cupcakes were all made by one of my bridesmaids cousins that does it on the side..AMAZING...the lemon with fresh lemon curd and lemon buttercream was ridiculous..and we had a TON left over to take home..what a shame ;)

The pics are wonderful and it all sounds delicious, especially the lemon curd/lemon buttercream. I'll be glad to help you eat those :goodvibes

B,

IMPROVGAL on the F&W Thread wrote that she spoke with the TIW people and they said the registration will open up not only to TIW card holders but also AP holders and DVC members.

Just got the AP email and the DVC, have not received the TiW email....

Hope the new school year goes great! Are you liking Windows 7? Food and Wine plans--such fun!

So far Windows 7 is good. Haven't used it a whole lot yet becuase it took all day to install it Sunday, Monday was spent getting ready for school and Tuesday I went for my traditional coffee out with one of my friends. We go every year on the 1st day of school. Of course, last night was spent filling out paperwork for the schools. DS had a great 1st day of 7th grade and DD is having a rough start to 10th grade.....schedule was wrong and it's "that time" so she's sick as a dog :sad2:
