Oct 22nd Day one
Ok folks I will try again and this time with a shortened version as I lost the last one and want to crack on. We got to Heathrow at 9.30ish and had done on-line check-in the day before. I am sure some people have had good results with this but we still stood in line for half an hour. Anyway bags away by ten and we went straight through departures into the departure lounge. Just time for a quick look round and a slice of pizza as we did not have any breakfast and then hoof it down to gate 26. When we got there the name of the plane was Tinker Belle which pleased Georgia no-end. We were on our way to Miami at 11.40.
Once aboard it was a smooth flight. It was quite a new plane with a fantastic
Entertainment system. Over 30 films to choose from and lots of games to play. John watched Cinderella man and Hotel Rwanda and Fantastic four, while I plumbed for Batman begins, League of gentleman the apocalypse (I really enjoyed this as I had seen the live shoe a few weeks prior which was fib) and then little Britain and nighty night. Alex watched Bewitched and War of the worlds and Georgia watched Madagascar and Tracy beaker etc. The food was quite nice. Beef stew with roast potatoes, pasta salad, profit roles and cheese and biscuits. The kids meal on the other hand was dire. It was supposed to be chicken nuggets but I would take issue wit that!!!!
We touch down in Miami at approx 4.30pm. I was dreading this next bit through immigration etc but was pleasantly surprised. We were Fingerprinted, photographed and on the coach with our luggage to the Miami Wyndham airport hotel within 30mins.
We went to the hotel restaurant for dinner. John had pork and garlic mash, I had a chicken Romano sandwich, the girls and pizza and 4 sodas $70. At least I know when we get to Orlando the prices will be a bit better than that. So off
To bed by 9.30 and get ready for the first day of our cruise tomorrow. We hope that Wilma behaves herself.
