Apologies for the long delay in posting Day 4- Life got in the way. I will try not to let it go for so long for Day 5!
Day 4
Sunday 25th June 2006
As I previously mentioned, today was originally planned as our Mgm (or Disney studios- Not sure which it is now?!) day, but tiredness had got the better of us yesterday and we decided to have a non-parks day!
We did not set an alarm and intended to sleep in and have a lazy morning, but things never go to plan.
At 7.30am, the phone rang in our bedroom.
I woke up instantly thinking it was the alarm and then noticed the time and that it was in fact the telephone ringing. Just as a reached over to pick it up- the telephone stopped ringing (Don't you hate it when that happens?). Dbf looked as if he was asleep, so I decided to go back to sleep too. About 15 minutes later, I was just entering dreamland again and the telephone rang again! Arghhhh! So much for a lie in!
Anyway it was my mother being very cheerful and surprised that she had woken us up after all it is after midday! Lol! I think she was having a dizzy moment and had forgotten that Florida is 5 hours behind England!

Anyway we had quite a long conversation catching up on the last few days and then seeing as we weren't going back to sleep, Dbf decided to phone his family back home in Nottingham too.
While he was on the phone, I decided that I wanted to go shopping in Downtown Disney and go to a water park in the afternoon. As Dbf is wonderful, he didn't argue or disagree with my plan!
We made to the food court for breakfast after 9.30am.
Do you remember that for the last few days I was amazed that we were one of the only people in the Food Court for Breakfast? Well.. now I know why! All the pop residents go for breakfast at 9.30am!! Wow, It was so so so busy! I think Dbf and I just stood there in the entrance in shock at how many people were crammed into the food court.

We queued for about 15 minutes for breakfast and then again at the cashiers to pay. It was a nightmare, what a stressful way to start the day. We both made a mental note to stick to our early morning breakfasts- Breakfast is way more relaxing (and no queues!) before 8am!
I had the Adult Breakfast Platter and Dbf had the Ham Cheese Omelette, which he said was very tasty!
We took out time eating breakfast (after having to wait for a table to become empty.. yes it was so busy all the tables were full!) and then we took the bus to Downtown Disney.
We shopped for 2-3 hours solid. Dbf had a long list of presents to buy for family back home and we just walked into the shops soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying taking our time.

Here are some photos of us being silly in the shops
Highlights include choosing and buying a christmas tree ornament in the Christmas store for our christmas tree. We had it engraved with our anniversary which was in a few days time- I am so glad we did this, it looked so great on the tree at Christmas and brought back lots of happy memories!
We also looked in the pin trading shop as Dbf was still on his quest for a Darkwing Duck pin. We were here for over 30 minutes just looking at the many pins on display! We also spent ages getting lost in the World of
Disney store.
We decided to eat at Earl of Sandwich for lunch and we paid out of pocket as the sandwiches are quite cheap and we were saving our counter credits for another meal!
I had the Caprese and Dbf had the Frenchy.. mmmm these are so yummy! We also got BBQ and Seasalt crisps (or chips for american readers!) and chocolate milk. Thinking about it, it was a ready random mix of food but still very yummy!

The total for everything came to $13.85 so very reasonable!
As we were queuing it began to rain heavily.. I have no idea where the rain clouds came from as it was sunny when we entered the Earl of Sandwich. It soon became very crowded inside, as it seemed everyone in Downtown Disney decided to take shelter inside the Earl of Sandwich. Again we could not find anywhere to sit and because we were hungry, we decided to sit outside!
Lol before you think we are totally crazy, the outside tables are covered by a roof-shelter and even though it was raining it was very warm, so as long as there was no wind blowing the rain sideways-we would be ok (and we were!).
After we finished eating, it was raining very lightly and so we decided to continue our shopping tour of Downtown disney!
While looking for a present for Dbf's younger brother, we decided on impulse to buy a Mr Potato Head with all the Disney accessories (for ourselves)! This is a bit sad for 2 twenty-somethings to buy but at the time we thought it was very cool. For those who don't know about it, you can pay $18 for a small cardboard box and then you fill the box with what ever Mr Potato Head accessories you like. We intended to get our moneys worth and Dbf turned it into an art-form, packing all the arms, legs, hats etc with exact precision so we could get the more accessories in the box! (Tip: you can store eyes and noses inside the Mr Potato Head body!). About an hour later we managed to close the box and were satisfied we couldn't fit anymore in!
Look at all the things we managed to fit in the box:
and here is our infamous potato head, that we put in our window at Pop. Sssh don't tell Dbf that I have posted this photo because he thinks it is a very geeky photo but the photo makes me smile! He is wearing the graduation hat, that I bought for him.
Anyway back to Downtown Disney, we had sent all shopping bags to the resort so we were bag free to go swimming at the waterparks!
It had stopped raining so we decided to go Typhoon Lagoon!
Unfortunately, it was closed! They were on storm warning and had closed the park. There were a lot of people standing outside the gates waiting to get back in and so we asked if the park would reopen soon. They could not tell us how long it would be until the park would open, if at all!
I got slightly upset, as I was really looking forward to going and I was still a bit tired (seeing as we never got the lie-in and I underestimated how tiring 4 hours of shopping can be) so we decided to wait and see if it would reopen. It must have been really obvious to Dbf that the park was not going to reopen (there were large black clouds all over the sky and the air was very humid), but he never said a thing and waited very patiently with me. He had some park maps in his bag so we started talking about what we saw over the last few days and our plans for tomorrow. We ended up waiting for 40 minutes and then it started to rain again so we got the bus back to Pop Century.
Going to cook dinner now, but coming up... the rest of Day 4!
