Behind the Seeds tour availability?

I tried to call today to book the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot for any of several days at the beginning of August. She could find no availability at all but thought it might be a glitch in the system after checking on three different dates for me. I've read that you can book same day tours, so I didn't think I would have any problem getting this. She is putting a memo on it and told me to try again in 2 days to see if it is fixed. She saw no notes that the tour would not be available during the time frame I was checking.

Does anyone know if this tour is running during the first 10 days of August? Could it possibly be completely booked during that time?

It may very well be a glitch in the system. When I did the tour in August 2008, I walked up that morning and they had openings pretty much all day. I would be extremely surprised if this tour is really completely booked.

Be aware that there's a lot of walking, and some parts of the tour are not air-conditioned. I really enjoyed it.

I'm thinking that has to be a glitch. This is not a real popular thing, though I've always wanted to do it. Every time I've checked on availability while at The Land pavilion, there has always been plenty of space on the tour.

It's highly unlikely that it would be completely booked. Every time we've been there, regardless of the time of year, there has been availability, even as an immediate walk-up. Try again in a couple of days, it probably will clear up.

It is an insightful tour. Even the children that were on the tour with us were kept interested. Enjoy it!

Is it maybe only walk-up reservations?

I want to do this too and I read an allears review of it and I thought I only saw mention of walking up to sign up.

I'd try calling again... sometimes a CM might just have bad info. Maybe if you get a different CM you might have different results.

I'm thinking about doing it on Monday but walking up, not reserved, because it will be only if I have time for it. And from what I have seen it is possible to reserve the tour.

The day I took mine, I walked up and got in the very next tour scheduled to leave. Maybe like someone said- it's maybe on a walk-up basis. I don't think it's ever too full.

I believe it's only a walk-up kind of thing.
We're planning on doing it in a few weeks.

Thanks, everyone! I will try to call again today or tomorrow to see if I get different information. Maybe it is walk-up only, though the official Disney site lists the phone number to call, and the person I was talking to sounded like she has booked this before. My daughter really wants to do this, so I hope it will work out.

I have to agree with the previous posters. We were able to walk up and book it, same day, on the 4th of July this year. I would say, just to be sure, go there first thing and see what's available. We were able to get the first tour of the day so I highly doubt they'll all be booked!

We also did a walk-up the morning of and scheduled in person. We actually got a tour within 20 minutes of when we arrived.

One other question...

How many are in each tour group? We have a family of five that all want to go. Do you think this will limit our ability to walk up on that day and get on to a tour?

I called again today and had a very helpful CM who tried and tried to help, but there was still no availability for my dates. He confirmed that it is usually possible to make advance reservations for Behind the Seeds at the WDW TOUR number and that the tour rarely fills, but he couldn't make anything work. He wasn't showing any closures scheduled either.

I guess we will cross our fingers and stop in at the tour desk early on the day(s) that we want to try for the tour.
