behind the scenes, a teenage aspect

Marion Thank you I am going to post right away.

DebIreland I think mommy is terrific too (she pays me to say that.) j/k I like mommy. yes writing is good for the soul, it has kept me together during rough times.

MouseKaMaddi scroll down more is coming. and thanks for reading:)

SpaceMountain Thanks for reading. I may seem girly but I like to rock out too.

So after we got our info packet and unloaded the van into our teeny tiny room we all wanted to go to the park but daddy was too tired, mommy is the boss of daddy in situations like this and he ended up going to the park after all. i mean really it is a family vacation not a rest fest for daddy.
we drove the van which later would turn out to be the wrong thing to do. we got to the MK parking lot and then got in line for the tram. trams scare me cause i always seem to get seperated from my family on them, it happened twice in one day at hershey park in Pa. but this time mommy linked arms with me and i stayed safe and intact with the family.
the monorail was packed people act like it was their last chance to get to MK, daddy had to tell a guy to simmer down, it was hot, super hot and i think some people skipped the shower that morning or forgot to use deodarant, mommy quotes commercials alot (wierd huh?) she said arn't you glad you use dial don't you wish everybody used dial? i have never seen that one so it must be an olden day commercial but i laughed anyway cause the guy infront of her must have seen the commercial and he tried to casually sniff his pits.:lmao:
when it came time to get in the line for finger scanning, daddy lost it, he starts flipping out yelling we are sheeple being herded everywhere then mommy starts flipping out on him jimmy was joining in with daddy, yeah we'll have to get ear tags next. i got to play grown up and tell everyone to just chill out.
once inside Mk it was magic, daddy stopped griping and mommy was wiping tears jimmy wanted rides it was like our family changed in just a few steps, but we all convert back to ourselves soon enough.
Mommy saw Baloo and wanted to meet him, jungle book was one of her favorite movies, it was before my time but i do remember watching it on dvd in my elementary years. i wasn't too into meeting characters but after meeting with Baloo and he hugged me to the point of no air i like it a little better, i guess it felt more real that this character was showing personality and not just signing autographs and doing simple poses for pictures.
next was Pluto, ok, i need to tell you about our dog Max, he is in heaven now but that doesn't stop him from visiting us, he is a german shepherd who also happens to be as he sais "telepathetic" we know he means telepathic he also has a bad speech impediment we love him all the more for that. he chimed in at this point
Max: Pawuto is my pabowit aminow.
we met with pluto he was frisky that day, it was fun but then jimmy started whining he was bored and wanted some rides. so we followed mommys agenda and the advice to always go left:confused3 and we headed towards Pirates on the way we came across jungle cruise and rode that, the guys jokes were lame and i felt bad that he had to tell them i tried to give him some sympathy laughs but it sounded so phony which made me feel like i was being mean so i just smiled alot. jimmy and i were thinking that ride would be so awesome if Dane Cook were on it telling the jokes. seriously "most people think its water coming out of the elephants trunk but itsnot" that does nothing for me:sad2:
we then went over to ride pirates of the carribean, jimmy and i rode this in california i think the drop is smaller in floridas version but really aside from that they are the same.
Max: dis a ma pabowit wide so par.
mommy and daddy let me do some shopping then while they sat on a bench. i bought a necklace for my friend steph who at the time deserved it but sometimes now i wish i would of just sent her a postcard.
we started to make our way to splash mountain and we caught a wiff of barbque it made my tummy grumble mommy said we could eat now even though it wasn't on the agenda for now. me mommy and daddy got barbque sanwhiches and boring brother got a hamburger or chicken nuggets thats all he eats so it was one or the other. my sanwhich was so good but i could not finish it none of us could finish our meal but it hit the spot and even though we are a family of pepsi drinkers the coke was refreshing, so were all fueled up now and ready for some more rides. we got to splas mountain and only jimmy and me wanted to ride. mommy walked us to the entrance and showed us where to meet her when the ride was over, sometimes she is too over protective. but any way the ride wasn't at all what i thought it would be, it was nice though like riding through a story book. finally the big drop came and jimmy screamed like a girl i screamed like a girl too but i am a girl and that makes it cute, when jimmy screams its just scary:scared1:
after the ride mommy bought the picture. mommy always buys the pictures.
we then went to ride big thunder mountain, i like how at disney there is no guess work about how we can all sit together, everytime at hershey we are counting people ahead of us and next to us and letting people go ahead of us just so we can be on the same train, but disney takes out all the worry about sitting together by doing the counting for us. i love that, hershey could learn from this.
the ride was a bit tame for all of us, well maybe not jimmy "girl screamer" but it is a fun ride and as long as my hair is blowing in the wind the ride will do.
we started over towards ToonTown mommy said this place would be great for a photo opp and mommy can't resist a photo opp.
did i tell you it was hot that day? it was hot i love the heat. the hotter the better, mommy hates the heat but was doing a good job f not getting too cranky. we stopped to get a drink from a watr fountain and mommy took a big drink then spit it out in the bushes "caca" when she said that i knew not to drink the water. daddy asked her what it tasted like and she said it tastes the way death smells, so then i had to try it and she was right.
we took a stroll through minnies house, it was cute jimmy was complaining that all it was was a line ride, daddy thought that was funny and then the two of them left saying they don't do line rides. we went through mickeys house next it wasn't as cute as minnies but still cool to look at, we took lots of pictures in the garden daddy plants a huge veggie garden every year i bet he can't grow mickey head tomatos. mommy wanted to go into the judges tent i told her it was boring and took forever but she really wanted to meet mickey we were told the wait would be about 30 minutes so finally mommy said she would come back later. we then went to hall of fame and mommy spent 50 dollars on postcards i got one of all the evil characters to send to the evil rents in michigan. we got in line to see donald duck but jimmy showed up again and said he and daddy were tired of waiting. mommy tried to ignore him but jimmy refuses to be ignored and everyone around us was looking at mommy like would you just answer the kid. so mommy sid she would come back later (that was said alot during our vacation)
daddy wanted to try barnstormer it looked like a kiddie coaster but we all rode it anyway, i can't describe it. it is the closest thing you can get to a ride with out it being a total line ride, you do move but its over before it starts. the highlight was daddy yelling like Goofy wha hoo hoo,
Max: i wike goopy he id a punny guy
after that we sat and watched the little kids play around donald boat i went in to have a look i thought that was cool. we talked about riding the train, jimmy said it would make him sleepy mommy was dying of thirst so we decided to head to crystal palace and see if they would take us early, we had a tiny wait but they still took us in early, all we needed was a drink to refresh us and we were all feeling better. CP was buffet style i like buffets but i couldn't find anything that looked good to me, so mommy and i had salad and fruit and i did get some shrimp, my daddy makes the worlds best steamed shrimp everything else fails in comparison, that happens alot cause daddy is such a great cook. i think he should quit the construction business and open a restarant. but anyway i like the food ok i guess i just wasn't all that hungry.
the characters started to come around. i love piglet i was a huge piglet collector in my younger years then i moved onto collecting giraffes but piglet is still my favorite from the hundred acre woods gang. Jimmy told mommy at one point he was going to cover his face for all pictures and he wasnt kidding at all. every picture he covered his face and mommy never got mad at that, we did try alot of times to catch him off guard but he is quick.
Tigger is daddys favorite he does a good tigger impersonation, one time at our cabin he kept moving around and wouldnt sit still mommy told him to stop bouncing all over the place and daddy said but thats the wonderful thing about tiggers and he said it just like tigger. mommy wanted daddy to get his pic with tigger but daddy passed. mommy said she can relate to Eyore but i don't know if its her favorite she said winnie the pooh reminds her of her younger brother Matt, grandma and Poppy adopted him when he was 3 days old, my mommy was 16 and they did his room in pooh bear mommy and Matt are super close i dont know if jimmy and i will ever be as close as Mommy and matt.
mommy got tons of pics with all the characters you can see those posted on her trip report, i honestly cant see the logic in posting them twice. we left CP and the food and Ac in there made us tired so we decided to go back to pop even though mommys agenda was saying we had much more to do. it wasn't until we got to the front gate that i remembered that i left my sunglasses back at CP so daddy went back to get them jimmy sat on the bench and mommy and i went into the town hall. there were all kind of things to take your picture with and mommy and me had the best time in there, we came out daddy was waiting for us we started to walk but they started the flag ceremony where they take the flag down so we stopped and watched quietly, daddy has the utmost respect for the American flag he says millions of people have died for it and the least we can do is honor its symbolism, and i agree.
we rode the monorail back to catch the tram and then after some confusion found the van, it felt so good to lay down, on the way back daddy got us lost even though mommy said turn here, shes a bad cook but good with directions. we drove all over the place daddy was fuming mommy was laughing, not at daddy though she just sais we have the worst luck when it comes to being on vacation she agreed with daddy that the signs were hard to read, i think she said it just to please him i dont know for sure though.
we finally made it back to pop and again they welcomed us home, the van was silent we were waiting for daddys explosion but he stayed calm...surprise.
we went to our room and talked about going swimming but there were alot of people in the pool, jimmy and i wanted to look around and mommy wanted to take pictures so we left daddy and headed out for a gorgeous and fun walk around pop.

Glad to Read it from the perspective of someone who is also my age

:hippie:

Although, I am 13 going on 30:cool2:

Reese, I am loving your report! You are adorable and I love reading from your point of view. I LOL when you wrote about how the " water tasted like death smelled" and the guy "casually smelling his pits":lmao: I am 37, have my own kids and still call my mom mommy too! Keep up the good work kiddo:cheer2:

Your brother screamed like a little girl on Splash? :lmao: ! It's okay, I'll admit that I screamed REALLY LOUD on Honey I Shrunk The Audience, that it was kind of embaressing (everyone looked at me and my uncle laughed).

-Dainan "Keep them coming" Rafferty

You are doing a good job baby, I like reading your point of view. and I am sure your brother appreciates you telling everyone he screamed like a girl.

Thank you DebIreland Mommy is always quoting somthing form yout Tr, I feel like I know you from all she says.

Hollywoodhaha Thanks for reading. Do you have a TR out there? I would like to read it if you do.

dddisrunner that water is foul, i don't know why it was so bad, even the ice was nasty. thank you for reading and for your nice comments.

SpaceMountain Yup! Jim screamed girlier then i could ever scream. Mommy screamed in honey I shrunk the audience and she sat on her feet. people were laughing and pointing at her.

Disneyaddicted (mommy) See> I am posting so chillax now woman!

m11Dolphin I am happy you like my TR, sorry I have kept you waiting.

we fel asleep and didnt wake up untill mommy was screamin we're at the happiest place on earth. i thought what the mall but we were at disney instead.

That's funny!!!!

I'm enjoying your trip report. I think it will make for an interesting read!!!!!!

Nice report so far, but watch the capitalization and run on sentences. Don't forget to doublespace between paragraphs.:snooty:

WE walked all around pop and mommy took lots of pictures. Jim covered his face in all of them. I really liked the lake i think it is called hourglass lake. I walked over the bridge while mommy sat on a bench and rested her slippered feet. I love water, i know i already said that but it is my report and i can say it as many times as i want. ( wow, that sounded so bratty) anyway mommy said she had to keep moving or her bones would stiffen up so i didn't get to spend as much time looking at the lake as i wanted to but i knew i could come back with daddy, he likes the water too.
I love pop century, the colors just jump out and bite my eyes, i love the brightness of the buildings and the music always playing, i think it would be utterly impossible for anyone to ever be depressed at pop unless you hate bright colors and music, and if you do then maybe you shouldn't go to Disney but visit a shrink instead. that's my opinion and I can say it cause it's my TR.
(bratty again)
We made it back to the room, daddy was snoring when we came in, he always says he doesn't snore but we videoed him once just to prove that his snoring alone causes earthquakes all over the country. Mommy wanted to go back to Magic kingdom, daddy didn't want to go but mommy didn't let that stop her, at first it was just going to be the 2 of us but then jimmy wanted to go too, so i let him. haha we walked down to the bus stops it was going to be our first time trying the bus system at least we knew we wouldn't get lost. while we were waiting for the bus jimmy pointed at mommys feet, she was stil wearing her slippers:lmao: I wanted to tell her but jimmy said no cause she would want to go change her shoes and it would take too long, i thought any minute she would notice them but noooooooo we got on the bus and mommy was still clueless so it became a game to me and jim of how long it would take her notice popcorn::
We got back to Magic Kingdom kind of quickly, no tram no monorail, that rocked. the first thing we did was head to tomorrow land, we had skipped it completely earlier that day, now i didn't take notes like mommy did, i am going by memory alone so i might have a few things out of order. we went to Buzzlightyear and rode that, it was fun, it made me dizzy even though we werent spinning, it didn't even seem real, i wish i could explain better but it felt like i was watching myself on that ride and not really riding it. when it was over Jim had whooped me and mommys scores double over. mommy wanted to get the ride picture so we waited around forever but the cm's were having all kinds of trouble so after 10 minutes we left. we happened across spacemountain and got in line, it said 20 minutes wait it was more like 15 then fast pass people walked on by, did i feel any jealousy? a little, but i worked through it, we really didn't understand the fastpass concept:confused3 when it came time to split in the line we went left, mommy and her always go left theory, i loved it in there just looking up. Disney you amaze me, i don't even get bored standing in your lines!!!! We finally got in our pods? rockets? whatever, Jim was infront then me then mommy, this ride was so cool, i love not being able to see what's coming. as soon as it was over me and jimmy wanted to go again so mommy said sure and we went back through the line it was alot shorter and this time i got the front. I liked it ok, i was afraid somthing was going to hit me in the face, i prefer the back. when it was over we rode one more time and mommy got the front she also said she felt like she had to duck alot and felt like she might get hit. jimmy wanted to ride again but all of a sudden the line was a gazillion people long. so we decided to head over to the haunted mansion, I forgot to mention in my earlier post that we had ridden it earlier in the day when daddy was with us. we all like it, its creepy without being scary:scared1: even though i like scary!!! i like haunted houses and scary movies. We always try and do somthing like that every year. My first time doing anything haunted I was in 1st grade and it was a haunted hayride through hex hollow not to far from where we live, and it takes you through the story of the Rehmeyer witch, what made it so scary for me was my 1st grade teachers name Mrs Rehmeyer.
I came out of that alive and never gave my teacher any trouble just incase. Then we went to Jasons woods in 2nd grade, it was more action then hex hollow we also did a haunted barn I didn't like that cause you have to walk through tiny little hallways and at one point crawl through a tunnel. so anyway i liked haunted mansion, and i was ready to go back again and i thought going at night would be a little creepier.
My legs were hurting by then, I am active all the time it takes alot to tire me out and Disney was doing just that, mommy told me to take tylenol and told jim too, he didn't want to bother and mommy says but jim it will help with your soreness cause i took some earlier and my feet feel fine that's when jimmy told mommy she had on her slippers, she turned several shades of red, for a minute i thought she was going to want to go back to the resort but then she just laughed and said she couldnt believe she had done that. i believe it, mommy does that sort of stuff all the time, she will throw a pair of jeans in the dryer to get the wrinkles out and the forget about them and leave the house in her jammy bottoms. thank goodness she has me to point these things out to her, but one time she showed up at my school in her jammy bottoms the only thing that saved me from total embarrassment was her sweatshirt matched and it looked intentional, flannel jammy bottoms are a trend around here just most mommys dont wear them.
We got lost and never made it to haunted mansion, or maybe we just didn't care if we made it there or not, but we came across the winnie the pooh ride, me and jimmy didn't want to go, mommy had to beg, she got her way and we rode it. it was ok, mommy loved it, she took all kinds of pictures in there. then she wanted to ride snowhites ride but the line was astronomically long and we said we'd come back, we went over to spalsh mountain and begged mommy to go, she doesn't care for water rides but she gave in and went on it with us, there wasn't a wait at all, she took all kinds of pictures on it too, then she got to telling us about the movie song of the south and seeing it with her popa which lead to stories about popa, i never knew him but if he is even half the man my poppy is i know he was great. mommy has his old golf hat that she keeps displayed with a picture of him, it doesn't match the hunting/trapping motiff of the room but mommy keeps it out anyway cause it was her popas. it made me teary eyed when she said that popa would tell her someday another man would come into her life and she would have to leave him and she would squeeze her arms around him and tell him she could never leave him, but he left her first, he died when she was in 6th grade but she remembers the rainbow he colored her life with. mommy will sit and watch a rainbow until it is competely faded she says it's her poppa sending his love. ok no more mushy stuff!!!!!
The ride was awesome...both times we rode it, and we stayed pretty dry too, which is good cause even though it was Florida and stinking hot that day, it was chilly that evening. After the ride we just sat and vegged a while, the days was starting to really catch up to me, i was tired, mommy and me convinced jim that we should go back to the resort, so we slowly made our way back to the bus stop. it was wierd being on the bus after dark, we talked a bit and next thing i know mommy was waking me, i was so tired, bad mood tired. we got to our room and the sound of the fan (mommy needs white noise to sleep) and the cold of the AC was so comforting, i got into my jammies and climbed into that comfy bed, yup, i thought the bed was comfy, small as it was. i had only seconds to think back over my day and let it sink in that i had just spent my first day at disney then i was out for the count, i didn't even wake up when mommy crawled into bed, i stayed sleeping until the alarm went off the next morning. It was an MGM day, but you will have to wait for the rest cause I need to get to bed cause we are having a cheerleading carwash tomorrowto raise money for nationals and i need my beauty sleep. so good night all. and as my mommy tells me have happy dreams.

Nice report so far, but watch the capitalization and run on sentences. Don't forget to doublespace between paragraphs.:snooty:

Mrs Rehmeyer? is that you? :lmao:
Really my spelling and punctuation is much better than I let on, it just takes too long to care, and since I am not being graded on this... right?:scared:

Awesome job, Reese. You and your mom have kept me entertained daily with you great TRs. Can't wait to read more! You definitely have a talent for writing and I hope that you stick with it both on the board and off! :thumbsup2

Geesh, if I was being graded on everything I wrote on dis boards I would have failed for sure. :sad2:

No not Mrs. Rehmeyer. Just a Dad whose own son turned 13 yesterday.

Sorry I couldn't help myself. You are doing a fine trip report. Heck if my son would just make half the effort you are in writing, I would be thrilled.

I'm following your report because I though it might be useful to see a typical WDW vacation from a young adults perspective, and because we are only 19 days away from our own WDW adventures. Keep up the good work!

Disneyaddicted (mommy) See> I am posting so chillax now woman!

:lmao: :rotfl2: "Chillax"?? That's the best 'word' I've come across in a long time. :rotfl:

Reese, you're doing such an amazing job on this TR. You have wonderful writing skills. :thumbsup2

I'm :lmao: at your Mom and the slippers. So you and Jim knew all along??? Still, I can see your logic, not wanting her to insist you all go back to the hotel. Fair enough. :teeth:

Looking forward to more.... popcorn::
