Cool videos! I think it would be fun to eat there, but DD would not be too sure about the "thunder storm" part of it! Maybe some day, when she's older!

I am lucky enough to have a Rainforest Cafe near us at home and I just love the atmosphere in there. It's crazy and hectic but it's nice. Reminds me of Orlando. :goodvibes We had the sampler last time we went, SO GOOD. Yum!

I had no idea that there was a Disney store outlet down there. But of course there would be. Why not:confused3 Em's nachos look delish! I could go for some nacho goodness right now.

I just know that all of your non-park activities are going to give me lots of ideas for future trips! We still need to make it to the outlet. Is it pretty easy to find from WDW?

I'm sorry I missed your post in here! It's pretty easy to get to, but I'm not sure if that is becuase we've been so many times! :lmao: let me know if you want details.
I'm sorry you decided to give up your October trip! It will make for an EXCELLENT June trip, though.

Is that pickle standing straight up on the burger? :confused3

The food looks great! Guess its dinner time for me!

Why, yes, yes it is! Not sure what up with that? Maybe it was happy to see me? (sorry. I should have gotten more sleep last night. Hope I don't get banished for that.)

Emily at 3 would have hated it Some of the animals are quite loud. Put it on your further down the road list. That's the fun thing about WDW. Always new things to look forward to.

We had one in Myrtle Beach, but now it's gone. No Rainforest, no Disney store. I'm in lonely country out here.

You've got to try it. I could spend all day looking in there!

I wish I had some of those nachos right now. Okay maybe not right now. It's 5:30 AM, but definitely for lunch!

Three days, three updates! I'm gettin' good!

Day Five Part Three

Back at POP, the pool was so hot and crowded. Emphasis on Freakin’ HOT….IN THE POOL, no less!! It was like swimming in a hot bathtub. This is the time when we start to figure out about how absolutely worthless our sun block was!! yeah, but the bottle was cute!

And what happens when you have a very hot day in Florida?

We had quite a little storm. When it slacked up, we made our way to the Food court for pizza……

And pie!! WE LOVE PIE!!!!

DSCF9094.jpg

DSCF9096.jpg

Okay, so it's cheesecake, whatever.

If you are ever in the food court at Pop around 6 PM, study this chart

DSC03141.jpg

and join in the fun!! Even Security gets into it. Do the Hustle!!! Got to love the 70’s! Probably the most misunderstood of all of the decades!!!

DSCF0839.jpg

Waiting out the rain is easy in the arcade. Yea, and you can win all sorts of prizes (it’ll on cost you about a million dollars for the credits to play with)

DSCF9099.jpg

We’ll spare you the horror of seeing Chuck and I compete on Dance, Dance Revolution, but here are our feet. The Horror, the PG-13 rated HORROR!!! Some people shouldn’t dance, and we are them!

The rain moved on and we moved on to Downtown Disney. Chuck was still toying with buying a Jedi Mickey big fig and I was still looking for my print, so we started at Art of Disney.

No Big Fig or print, but we found plenty of other things to look at. Actually, they did have the Jedi Big Fig Mickey from last years SWW and I was sorely tempted to get it, but when I looked at the price tag….all I could think of was, man that is two more nights at the Pop.

Other things I liked.

DSCF0841-1.jpg

I enjoy watching the artist they have working there. I wish I could draw.

DSCF0842.jpg

In Once Upon a Toy, we filled a box of new parts for our Mr. Potato Head. I wanted to buy this guy, but Chuck said no.

DSCF0843-1.jpg

The Lego store was next. We were disappointed they did not many Star Wars Lego displays. They’ve had some awesome ones in the past. But we found some things we liked.

DSCF0844.jpg

We loved their London window!

DSCF0846.jpg

Jake wanted a closeup for his Tardis model.

DSCF0847-1.jpg

The new restaurant looks interesting. Maybe we’ll try it next summer.

DSCF0845.jpg

Our last stop, Pin traders!! One neat thing they have at the pin store is a trader board. When it is opened up, you can go up to the board and select up to two pins off of the board and give the CM standing post there two of your pins which they then put up on the board for other traders. It’s perfect for those of us who like to trade the occasional pin without having to deal with a possible pin shark.

I picked up a few pins.

DSCF1082Small.jpg

I just loved this one! There was a whole series of Mickey and Minnie in scenes from the Great Movie ride. This is my favorite scene.

DSCF1078Small.jpg

Em has been collecting the Mickey bear pins and saw one on the lanyard of a CM who was gong into the office. Em tried to catch her, but she was too fast. Em and I were standing there talking when the CM looked out the window and said, “Hello?” Em went over to try to tell her what she wanted and the CM pretended she wouldn’t hear EM. It was so funny. Em was so serious, but we could tell the CM was messing with her. The CM came out with her trainee and traded with Em. Her trainee had just come over from France. They had offered him a position in the French pavilion, but he turned it down to work at Dowtown Disney so he could practice his English more. He was very nice and talked to Em for several minutes. We wished him luck.

Here are Em’s Mickey bears.

Another day is done!!

Another great update - now I'll be humming the hustle all afternoon!

Love the pins! My daughter and I are starting to get in to them more. Trying to come up with a "theme" to collect so we have some sort of direction.

Looking forward to more! :goodvibes

You know, I feel like an idiot. I saw those Mickey and Minnie pins, I even have the Mary Poppins one and I didn't get that they were scenes from The Great Movie Ride. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I wish I had known about that pin trading board, next time!

Great updates! It looks like you had a good time at the Rainforest Cafe. The new T-Rex cafe does sound interesting (I think it's by the same group that does the RFC). There was a short little article about it in my dad's Mickey Monitor...could be fun!

Love the pins! The Great Movie ride ones are really cute...I bought the Wizard of Oz one. :) I didn't know about the pin board either. I'm thinking about doing some pin trading and that might be a good idea to check there.

The cheesecake looks yummy!!!! I enjoyed the the lego pictures! Capt. Jack is cool!!!! DH has several of the star wars lego sets!

I had to resist the urge to buy that one and the Oz scene as well.

3 days and 3 updates... you are good!! :thumbsup2 Love all of your finds at the outlet store. I don't tend to rent a car while there but I may just have to find a way to get there. Those nachos look so yummy - even at 6:30am. I'm afraid I can't say the same thing about the tie dyed cheesecake. I know it gets rave reviews but at least to me all the colors kind of freak me out. An afternoon at Downtown Disney is so fun. Sorry you didn't find the 4th print. I have not yet started pin collecting or trading but I sure have seen some awful cute ones that make it tempting... Just what I need, another Disney obsession!

I see a new ticker on your signature. Yeah for counting down to the next trip. And I like your halloween pumpkin mickey avatar!

I'm going to have to find a theme for pin collecting. I want to put them on a cork board. They're so fun! I noticed on your next vacation, you're going without kids? You will have a blast. DH did that last Oct and would love to be doing it again. No such luck this year.

Thanks!

It would be nice if my pin collecting went in one direction!:lmao: I started just getting the rides as we did them each trip, then POTC ones, had to have resort ones, then I fell in love with all the MIckey and Minnie ones (I love them together) and so it goes. Who knows what I'll love next?

I'd love to see the Mary Poppins one! I saw mine and the Singin' in the Rain one. I will be getting more!!!!

I didn't see the Wizard of Oz oner!!

You should try the pin board! It is a very nonthreatening way to begin. THe CMs in the pin stores are great, too. We only trade with CMs and they alway seem so happy to trade.

The cheesecake looks yummy!!!! I enjoyed the the lego pictures! Capt. Jack is cool!!!! DH has several of the star wars lego sets!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who liked those pins. I'm a fan of the Great Movie Ride, except for the fact it's missing the best movie, Lord of the Rings!!!!

Thanks for the comment about my avatar! I'm really getting in the mood for Halloween! I can't wait to start decorating the house.

I'm warning you, pin trading can get out of hand, but it is so fun!!!

We've been trying to go to WDW without the kids for two years! Not that I don't love our fanily times, but it's nice to get away just us, you know? We had a lovely romantic weekend at the Dolphin planned for my 40th birthday last year, and ended up having to take them with us! We still had a good time.

Day Six Part One

Blizzard Beach day!!!

If you’ve read any of our past trip reports (you haven’t? Well, here are links, in case you want to!
Lucky #13
Magic in November
The Jungle Book, Chikfila and me
Our Polynesian Par-tay!
Not that anyone here thrives on all you DISers’ approval or anything. You like us! You really really like us!) Anyway, if you’ve read our past reports, you know that I don’t do water parks. I’m just not a fan of being wet, especially all day, or sandy or in my bathing suit in public. Usually water park day is “Lynn gets to shop in peace” day possibly followed by a set or two of a certain band in EPCOT. I’ll give you two guess’ – (hint: their initials are Off Kilter!) But the children keep asking me every summer, and since I am so aware of how few summers we have left together, I said yes. They toyed with taking me to Typhoon Lagoon since none of us have been there, but settled on Blizzard Beach because they know the way around and want to show it all to me.
The night before we had gotten our tickets at Guest services, so I knew there was no backing out. The day dawned bright and clear and very hot. They assured me it was great water park weather. We didn’t wait long for a bus and we were on our way. I was very out of my element. Usually I’m the planner, mapstudier, itinerary girl, but since I had no desire at all to be there, I let them take the reins. Chuck is more of a “fly by the seat of your pants, let’s just have fun” kind of guy, but there were a few, choice things they wanted me to see.

Teamboat Springs
The Lazy River (Cross Country Creek)
The wave pool (Melt away bay)
The Sneezing House (yep, sneezing)

Once we were through the turnstiles, I was told our first stop was to get a locker. There is a locker place right when you come in, but they led me to another locker rental closer to the Lazy river and not at all crowded because everyone stopped at the first one! Well done, guys! Well you know that just the way we roll!!! As we approached the CM, the conversation went something like this,

CM: Good Morning, how can I help you? (Cool Jamaican accent)
Chuck: We would like to rent a locker, please.
CM: Would you like a refillable mug as well?
Chuck: no, just the locker.
CM: What about towels? You need some towels.
Chuck: We brought our own.
CM: Come on, you’ve got to get a mug.
Chuck: no, not really. We just need a locker.
CM: Look at those children, they gonna get thirsty. You need a mug.
Chuck (trying to be nice): No, we’re good.
CM: You gotta get a mug. You gonna insult me.

Now Chuck’s job is to talk to and deal with hard to deal with people, so he is smiling and laughing it off and none of us are sure if she is joking or not. So Chuck smiles sweetly and tries to hand her the money.
CM: No, I don’t want to see you anymore. You have insulted me. I will deal with her. (handing the locker key to me)
Chuck: But here’s the money.
CM: No, you go. I’ve had enough of you. Just take your key and go.

We pause, all looking at her.

CM: Go! I don’t want to deal with you anymore.

We looked at each other and start thanking her for the free locker, but at the same time, we were not really sure if she was mad or not. She just turns and waits on the next guest. We walked to the locker and found a nice big one, bigger than we would have gotten. We were very thankful, but still a little scared of Jamaican lady. Then Chuck put the key in and guess what we saw.

FH000027.jpg

It was a dream! The locker had a certificate, two refillable mugs and towels for all of us. Yay!!! Free stuff!! We looked over and Jamaican lady was shyly watching us from her counter and smiling. She got us good. We thanked her profusely, but she just waved her hand, saying “No, no, you have good time.”

Here she is! She wouldn’t stand still for her picture.

FH000026.jpg

Thanks, Jamaican lady!!

More tomorrow!!

Okay, Lynn and Chuck, I totally just got all teary-eyed reading about your dream! That was so sweet of her!!! (I couldn't tell while reading if she was mad at you or not)!

YOU GOT A DREAM!!!

Also, I just have to say, Lynn, that I felt the same way you did about water parks before going to Typhoon Lagoon! I hope your mind was changed like mine was!

Cool surprise! Can't wait to hear more about your first trip to a water park! :)
We haven't been either!

How nice that you got a dream! What a cool way to do it too. :goodvibes

I am not a huge fan of water parks either but I am so tempted by the cool Disney ones, perhaps you can persuade me to try one with your review. :thumbsup2
