Editor’s note: I was mistaken in the last post. It was 9 AM at the end of that last installment. Wow! WE really did get a lot done.
Day Two Part Two
When we last left our intrepid travelers, it was 9 AM in MK. This found us waiting at the entrance to Adventureland waiting for the magic Disney rope to drop.
Yet again with this magical rope!!! You know this is their way of messing with you….the gates open up, you enter into the park ready to take on the world and BAM!! There’s a rope!!! And you can’t get past it!
First stop: The Jungle Cruise! This is a family favorite. There was a DIS thread recently where everyone posted their favorite Jungle Cruise lines. We loved it. Back to the ride.
We were on the first boat! I wouldn’t mind making this my summer home.
Here is our captain, snake wrangler, lion tamer, tour guide and if we didn’t like his jokes, our swim instructor!
Careful they’re packing heat!
I wish I could remember all the lines. (Always say I will, never do)
I’d just be happy to remember the cruise.
I do remember the Jungle cruise pledge!
“I do
I do
Hope we
Hope we
Get back.
get back.”
We did, of course. And as I passed tearly by Pirates, we made our way to BTMR.
We had planned to get fastpasses, but the wait was so short, we hopped right on.
Don’t I look happy and excited? Yeah, that doesn’t last!
It must have been because we were closer to the back, but I don’t’ remember it being that fast!!! And Em wasn’t even holding on!!
I was holding on with my knees, Mama! I was shaking so badly when we got off. I thought I was gonna lose my breakfast. Who knows? I loved it last time. Go figure.
We proceeded, slowly while my stomach settled, to Haunted Mansion. Again, no wait, so we went twice so we could each ride with each child. Jake showed me a new Hidden Mickey he saw in the cemetery scene. Here are some of Chuck’s great pictures!
It’s a Small World was next!
I’m proud to say these pictures are mine! ( No flash of course!)
Ah, my young padiwan has finally embraced her new digital camera…..this is the first trip to WDW where we didn’t have to drop off a bizzillion (yep! I said bizzillion!) rolls of film at Wal-Mart afterwards to get developed.
By this point. Em was beginning to drag a little, so to cheer her up, Chuck agreed to ride the Teacups with her. Em loves the Teacups, but none of us can tolerate it! Chuck, being the dad he is, took one for the team. Em was so happy.
Yep! I’m pretty darn wonderful aren’t I?...Of course by the time I finished riding, I was pretty darn queasy!
Before we left for this trip, we made a list of some things we each wanted to do, not rides necessarily, but different things. One of mine was to have our pictures taken on Main Street with the castle in our Tye Dye shirts. We did that next and as soon as I get my Photopass picture in, I'll post it!
One of Em’s things was to buy a balloon on Main Street! We did that next, but believe it or not, I didn’t take a picture! BUT, the balloon will come into play later.
One problem, we were on our way to EPCOT next for our lunch at Garden Grill! No one wanted to carry a balloon around the rest of the day. Chuck, again being the dad that he is, offered to take it back to the Pop while the children and I went on to EPCOT! IS he a keeper or what?
Again, I refer to the aforementioned pretty darn wonderful comment! Sorry ladies, I’m taken. Try to curtail your bitter disappointment! Actually, the hour I spent traveling from MK to PC and then PC to EPCOT was worth it because the balloon, in conjunction with the fan, kept our motion sensor activated in our room…why even at one point in the middle of the night I had even thought of turning the thermostat up.
The nts4wdw family separated at WDW? Will we find each other again? Will we have our favorite meal? These and other questions will be answered in the next chapter.
