Day two Part one
Good morning, Pop Century! Its so fun to wake up your first morning of a WDW vacation with all that fun and good times waiting for you!
Our building reflects our vacation mindset!
We didnt wait very long at all for a bus and soon we were at MK.
Dont they look ready for fun? Yes, Chuck is having a Vault and a chocolate Poptart for breakfast!
It was Early Magic Hour at Mk and it was our first. Usually we avoid them like the plague, but this was the only time we could fit it in so here we go!
The only really downside was that we werent able to catch the usual opening show
.I can still hear it in my head
Welcome
welcome
.its just like magic, wrapped up in pixie dust
..hmmm..mmm.hmmmmm
Balloons in the sky are a good sign!
I was hopping that they would have some of those new Mickey shaped head bubble clouds
Oh, well, Ill live!
There was still a morning show for the EMH, but there was no train or dancing. Just a few characters doing the countdown on the train station. We positioned ourselves in front of the entrance to get in quickly.
We had a plan: Chuck and Jake were off to ride Space Mountain (and get Fastpasses) while Em and I would take a turn on Buzz Lightyear. We would meet up at our family friend, PLeakley.
Ahh, Space Mountain, one of the best roller coasters around (not like that Kracken
but more on that later
)
Soon the rope
(the magical rope that has the power to hold thousands of hording Disney masses back!)was down and we were greeted with a familiar sight. Even rushing in the crowds, it brings a tear to my eye.
Em took this pic.
We made the right decision going to EMH. All the other people headed for Fantasyland and we had Tomorrowland (mostly) to ourselves! After Em beat me soundly on Buzz, we jumped back on and she beat me again!!
We looked over at Pleakley and the boys were not there yet so we debated what to do. As we rounded the TTA, we saw absolutely no one in line for the Astro-orbiter!! Em hasnt ridden it since our second trip!! The poor CM running the elevator looked so lonely. Now, I am not good with heights at all. No way. No how. I totally freaked out on Dumbo one year, embarrassed Em so bad, she was mad at me! Em really wanted to go so I sent her over. The CM asked, Will you not ride? I told him about my height thing and he said just go up and watch. No one was up there. I screwed up my courage and got on the elevator.
Its really high! But he was right, no one was up there! EM jumped right on.
Its a beautiful view!
No one else came up so Em went again.
While she was riding the second time, I could see the boys down by Pleakley. Em was so excited and happy. It was worth getting up early.
And very few things are worth getting up early for
..which causes me to ponder (Warning Random chuckie thought!) we take vacations to relax, but when we go to WDW, we get up early, stay out late, walk all day thorough scorching heat (mostly) and brave huge crowds
And Pay BIG Bucks to do it!
.hmmm
..
Meanwhile over at Space Mountain
.Ahhhh, the pleasures of a fast pass!! The only thing better than a fast pass, is four fast passes (especially when there are only two of you!). We were able to walk straight onto the ride and we went to the left for a change. Jake thinks that the left rack has more dips in it while the right one has more sharp turns
..the only thing I know is that as much as I love to ride Space Mt., it beats me half to death!!! After getting off the ride, using the other set of fast passes we were able to go around and get right back on!
Once we were back together we decided to take a quick turn on the TTA.
Chuck, Jake and Em took yet another ride through Space while I participated in one of my favorite vacation activities: shopping!! Mickeys Star Traders is a fun shop
(Now approaching Mickeys Star Traders
.), but it was really just a reconnaissance mission. I take my purchases very seriously so I usually have to look at them in several different shop over several different days before I make the final selections. Only a few postcards
..this time!
Weve done all this and its only ten AM!!
More to come!
