I read in the Navigator that these are available for refilling at all bars. My question is what about at meals? Not sure if the restaraunt offers "beer" service or not. Anyone know?

I believe the mugs can b used at dinner in the resturants. If by chance you cannot i would suggest stoping at one of the bars on your way to dinner and filling it up and bringing it to dinner.:jester:

There are mugs for beer too? How much are these? I guess they are also refillable the length of your cruise...right?

Yes, the beer mugs are refillable for the duration of the cruise, but unlike the soda mugs, they are not free once you purchase the mug itself. The first time you buy the beer mug, it's around 13 bucks, and this includes the mug and the 1st beer. After that, it's the same price (I think it's $3.50) as you'd pay for a regular beer, but you get 20oz instead of 12. I suppose you could use it in the dining rooms, but it would still cost. I only used mine on deck and in ESPN. And whether or not you use the mug, they absolultely have beer in the dining rooms!!

ENJOY!!!

they arent suppose to refill them at dinner, but my waiter a couple of times walked to where you could get them refilled

I used my mug on deck as well. On one especially hot day at sea the waiter brought my mug back to me nearly submerged in a small metal bucket of ice water. The beer stayed ice cold as I nursed it for about 30 minutes. I thought it was a nice touch.

My DH will be interested in this, but will want to know what kind of beer. Please say it isn't Bud, Bud Lite, Coors! He might change his mind about cruising! Diana

Dancind - You can get Heineken, but sorry - the other main choices are Bud and Bud Light. Not much else as I recall. No Coors...

No Bass Ales, Black and Tans, microbrews??? Oh no...I won't mention this to my husband.;)

my3kids, which cruise are you on? Sounds like our husbands would get along! I think we're going to have to buy some beer before we get on the ship. Diana

I like the "other" beers as well. I seem to recall there being a few of these types at Palo. I'm not sure if it was on tap or in bottles. I'm planning on bringing enough on board with me. Worked fine last time!

dancind: We are on 11/2 Magic Eastern. Apparently, we'll be the ones pulling the suitcase of good beers as we board.;)

That will be us on the 10/5 Magic. There will be some wine in there too, for me. Diana

There aren't a lot of beer choices, but you can get the canned, "Pub Draught" Guinness at most of the bars. They also have a few other beers in bottles, like Corona, Miller Lite, etc. and then it is usually Bud, Bud Light, and Heineken on tap.

I usually go for Sam Adams or Newcastle Brown Ale, but I made do with Heineken, with the occasional Guiness.

No Newcastle either, senor Ferrari? Oh no....this is getting bad. I definately won't tell my husband any of this. I will just act surprised at the selection and then be quick to tell him how smart I was to pack the suitcase of beers he most likely complained about having to carry! And yes, dancind. My tote will have wine for me also!

there will be 25 year old bushmills on the 9/28 cruise, but if I told you where it was...i would have to kill ya.

Too bad they don't have a special DCL microbrew! I'll be bringing some Fat Tire on the 4/26/03!
