Beer at WDW-has it come to this???

2infinity:
That's a good one!!! Actually it's not worth any sort of complaint. I'd rather just have a laugh over it on the Board.

Well, at least you can still get Bass Ale and Guinness on tap at R&C even if a pint costs more than a six pack. :drinking1

:thumbsup2 As long as I can get Bass Ale still, I can't complain TOO much! But it is disappointing the lack of selection now.
But DBF would probably go beserk if they stop selling Bass, and I would too!

To be fair though, in addition to a # of the other "usual suspects" (Heinekin, Corona, Stella) they do have Sam Adams Seasonal, Wild Hop Organic, and Windmer Heffeweizen.
So fortunately when we dine at Citricos in December, at least I'll have something to choose from.

Widmer with a slice of orange is fantastic!

No offense, but anytime fruit has to be put into a beer, you lose me. I just can't see putting a lime or orange into a Smithwick's. Oh my! :)

Thanks for the chuckle, Uncleromulus!:rotfl: Those work for me, but even I wouldnt consider them specialty. ;)

We also had some great 'Boddingtons' at the R and C..............:thumbsup2

Thanks for telling me!:thumbsup2 Next Oct my BF and I are attending the F & W Fest, but we always make a TS ressie on the weekend, and we picked R &C...I told BF, we can NOT just get Bass:laughing: We drink those at home! I will remember Boddingtons.

My DBro still cries about this if it is brought up and we frequently observe a
Ringnes moment of silence when passing through Norway. ;) We try to keep it more toward the start of the drink around the world then the end. We don't want another incident. :P

Ditto for my DH!!

Had a look at the menu at Citrico's recently. Offered as "specialty" beers--Bud and Miller Light.
Oh dear----

Whats on tap?

Natural Ice and Pabst Blue ribbon?

     :sad2:

:crazy2: I am sorry but there is nothing special about any of those. I would have to be pretty hard up to drink those but I am a picker beer drinker, if I am spending the ungodly amount of money beer costs in restaurants I want it to be drinkable. :drinking1

You people are crazy!

While I agree, Budweiser may not be a "specialty" beer. But many of you speak as though it is trash. Which it is not.

You should take pride in the fact that your country produces the #1 selling beer in all the world. While everyone complains about the lack of american made products and exports, everyone is knocking one of the true american success stories.

While bud may not be YOUR beer of choice, it is the #1 selling brand in the WORLD. I take pride in the fact that My country, heck my home town, is where this fine brew comes from. you should too.

And for all of you who think it is an inferior beer, I encourage you to go to Sea World, Busch Gardens, or an AB Brewery and take the tour / brew class, and see how truly special Budweiser is.

It's good that you like it and goodness knows lots of others do too. But I can't really say it ranks up there with the great beers produced here in the USA.

Amen to that!

I think the only reason they label those beers as such is so they can charge more for them (being specialty beers and all!)

Spoken like a loyal AB employee. :rotfl2:

Sales do not equate to quality. Just look at McDonald's. ;)

I'm glad you like it and that is certainly your right , everyones tastes are different. Personally I don't like it and I don't care where they make it , if it tastes bad I'm not drinking it.

Just because they sell the most, doesn't make it the best.

I'll take a half yard of Bass any day! (Actually I think AB imports Bass these days. LOL!)
