I'm thinking of going but not sure if it's worth the $$. How far is it from the Coca Cola museum? We were going in on the Marta. Or do you know of anything else reachable by the Marta that's cheap and fun for a 7 & 11 yr old.

We went in January- we are big aquarium people. It is amazing! The big tank with the whale sharks, Ralph and Norton, is super cool. When we came around the bend and saw that HUGE viewing window (the 2nd largest seamless viewing window in the world)- WOW!! And the beluga whales are so fun to watch! Definitely worth the $$. There is also a neat 3-D movie on the 2nd floor that is very reminiscent of the Disney 3-D movies. It is a seperate charge. We thought it was really cute, but probably won't do it again- if it was included in the admission price, sure, but not with an extra fee.

Be sure to visit the GA Aquarium website- you can order tickets on it. They sell them on an appointment basis- you will buy the tickets for a certain date and time period. The weekends and holidays sell out quickly, but the weekdays aren't quite as crowded.

Sorry- I got so into describibg the Aquarium, I forgot to answer your questions!

The closest Marta station is a couple of blocks away from the entrance. We decided to drive instead. The parking deck is right next to the aquarium, but it costs about $8, I think. The new World of Coca Cola is being built right next to the Aquarium, but it is still under construction. The older World of Coke is a ways away, near the CNN center and Underground Atlanta. The Five Points Marta station is the closest to World of Coke.

Other things to do along the Marta line would be Underground Atlanta, the High Museum in Midtown, Centennial Park, and if you want to transfer to a bus, the Atlanta Zoo.

we were underwhelmed by the World of Coke...felt like we paid money to look at advertising.

Kids really enjoyed the Cyclorama located adjacent to the Atlanta Zoo.

Ditto what steve said about WOC -cute but it almost seems like it should be for free -It is promoting their own product

Also -The Atlanta Zoo is not the best. I hate to say this -I want to support my states zoo -but it is heavy on gorillas and not much else.
The Pandas are cool.
I haven't been to that many zoos -but NCs and SC's are definitely better
