Been There, Done That, and Yes, We’re Going Back! New 5/8- I'm back!

My little princess, Amy turned 12 today! I just can not believe my little girl is 12!!!! It was a great day, nice, simple, and fun; just her personality! I'll post pictures from today once they're done uploading, but for now.......
some baby pictures!

Yes, she's a natural Disney girl! Amy got started with the magic at 2 months and Emily 5 weeks! We lived in Orlando for 12 years so we went so often that even I GOT sick of it! Crazy, isn't it!?!
These are from a wax museum in NYC taken about a month ago. The girls had a blast posing with all the different wax figures!

Summer is unfortunately winding down. Stores are already stacking up on Halloween, and yes, Christmas merchandise! I do have to admit the Christmas decor does make me excited for the trip! It's time to face the music and head back to my classroom! I went there yesterday and I just started putting things in piles and I started to get an idea of how I want to organize things, and make a thousand and six lists. We whistle "heigh ho, heigh ho, it's of to work we go!" on the 23rd. Tomorrow is the girls' last day of camp! Amy is in a dance/art camp and Emily is going a camp for swim team! Oddly enough, it doesn't apply to my daughter that maybe if she will be outside swimming for six hours perhaps she should keep applying lotion?! Nope, burnt like a lobster! Her entire body is burnt!
Mitch says he wants to go away before school starts since we didn't have a real family vacation this summer. First it was leave tomorrow and rent points for BCV! Then it was leave Saturday! Now he can't take this weekend off and we should go on Tuesday to either Disney or the beach! He won't know until Sunday! Ughh! But, yes there is a possibility of Disney in less then week! I know, I know, I'm becoming the girl who cried trip!

Happy Birthday to Amy! Hope she has a wonderful birthday!

Fingers crossed that you are able to take a quick trip to Disney next week!

Happy Birthday, Amy! :dance3:

If you make it to Disney World, maybe you could meet up with CanadianWDWfan for a picture. I know she would be thrilled to meet another DISer. :)

Love the "through the years" pictures. They grow up so fast don't they? Hope Amy has a wonderful birthday and hope you get to go to WDW!

I will admit I'm a bit jealous that you can just "decide to go to Disney next week"!!!!! :yay: I hope it works out!!!

And Happy Birthday to Amy!!! Were you at the wax museum on Times Square? Madame T-whatever? I've never been in there, looks pretty neat!

Hope Amy had a great birthday.

Loved the pictures of then and now! Sweet babies grow into sweet girls!

Happy Birthday, Amy!!!! Have a pixie filled day!!
Amy says "Thank you!"

I told Mitch that I would prefer going labor day weekend since my classroom is no where near ready. Plus, touring plans is expecting level 3 crowds!:cool1:

Thanks!
We aren't going away until labor day weekend now. I know Brook and Liesa will be there then/

They grow up way faster than what I would like.

We're 'far' now, considering we used to be less than 40 minutes away!
Yes, that is the place! It was huge! I think it was 5 huge floors of way figures, plus a SCARY haunted house, and a Spongebob 4-D show which was torture!
Happy Birthday, Amy!
Wow possibly going to Disney next week? That's exciting!
Is it, isn't it?
Happy Belated birthday Amy :bday: :cake:

can't wait to hear what you all decide on this last minute trip!
Last night was hectic with putting together a plan and trying to make ADRs for a labor day trip! We'll stay at POFQ. I booked Chef Mickey's but I need 2 more ADRs. The places I want aren't going with the times I like. I know we'll be able to walk up but I hate the fact of going for free dining with not enough ADRS!!
Hope Amy had a great birthday.

They do!

Goodness! I had no idea all that stuff was in there. I always get a kick out of whatever wax figure they have in the window whenever I happen to pass by. The last time I walked on that end of TS they had Nicholas Cage. One time they had a Rockette, that was fun - I had to pose with her!!

Since the birthday pictures and Photobucket are not agreeing with each other, I figured I'll skip ahead a little!
Bonjour and welcome to Ratatouille Disney night!
DSC03865.jpg

It was a pretty low key night but still fun none the less.
The table:

The table cloth just screamed Paris to me.
For dinner we had left overs from the night before. We had ordered from a pizza place and still had a calzone left over! It was huge. We had it for 3 nights (with other food.) and then the girls had it for lunch one day.
Here it is the first night.
DSC03854.jpg

Our activity was also our dessert. Kind of like killing two birds with one stone, hugh?
We made crepes!
DSC03866.jpg

Of course we had to drink out of our Disney mugs!! I had bought the crepe shells at Publix and then I just cut up the fruit. Yes, I buy that impostor cool whip crap; trying to loose weight!

DSC03876.jpg

Notice any thing different between these two pictures?!
My crepe.
DSC03882.jpg

I completely forgot to buy chocolate so we had to improvise with brownies.
Emily insisted I take a picture of her concoction, too. She said since "I'm already going crazy with the camera for my Disblog friends!" No matter how many times I tell the girls it is Disboards rather then Disblogs they still call it the wrong thing.:sad2:
Emily wanted a self portrait with her sister.

Amy, on the other hand, had other things on her mind.
Here is a finished crepe:
DSC03877.jpg

When the crepes were done we put in the movie for a little while since Big Brother would be on soon. (You know, first priority and everything!)
Mitch, being like most men, was just there for the food and then left once it was time for the movie. This was the night after he returned from 24 hours of flying so I understood.
We had a great time!

Yum! I love crepes!!! Now I think we might need to make some at our house!

Charles is the exact same way -- he always seems to disappear when the movie starts!

Of course we had to drink out of our Disney mugs!!

Disney mugs make such great souvenirs! We used ours Sunday at our beach party - some from resorts, some from parks. Wonderful, practical, small, and lightweight - the perfect Disney souvenir. :thumbsup2

I'm at school, so I'll have to wait until I get home to see the pictures, but I just wanted to comment on that. ;)

We were very impressed with it! It is a little pricey though, I think like 25$ a person and that is with a coupon. My mom insisted on treating us though. You could spend the whole day there. We had plans to see cousins that night but we were there from 10 to 3 and could of spent at least 2 more hours in there. I would probably wait until Henry is a little older though.

They were delish! You should definitely make them.
I have a feeling Mitch and Charles could be great friends. As well as Chelsea and Emily with their mouths and teenage attitude.:lmao::goodvibes
That calzone is HUGE! Wow!!! Looks delicious though. :goodvibes
It was huge! Amy said she wanted one at her birthday party. She'll be having a Poly pool party in September.

We have a cabinet of Disney mugs and then we have another cabinet of regular glasses for when normal people come over!:goodvibes
I do have to say, it brings me great joy to wake up and drink my tea out of a Disney mug and possibly tune into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a few minutes. The girls laugh at me for watching it but it makes me smile.
It's interesting to see which mug each family member picks out based on their personality. DH usually gets Epcot, Figment, or Grumpy. I get something with the park symbols or Donald Duck. Amy gets something with Tink or girly. And Emily gets the "coolest", most unique one they have.:goodvibes

My little princess, Amy turned 12 today!

Happy belated birthday, Amy!!! The 12th is my dad's birthday, too!

Mitch says he wants to go away before school starts since we didn't have a real family vacation this summer.

Woo hoo for a quick Disney get-away! :woohoo: Did you get the ADRs you wanted?

We made crepes!

Yum! I love crepes, but haven't had them in a long time.

:lmao: I'm glad I'm not normal! :rotfl:

I'm glad that the girl admitted the fault for the car accident. It is great your insurance is paying for the rental too.

Happy belated birthday to Amy!!

Yummy crepes!

I LOVE THIS! I wish we had the cabinet space!

We only keep very few dishes out since there are just two adults in our house and it keeps the pile of dirty dishes low, plus we have ONE cabinet for all dishes. Almost half of them are Disney themed though. Our guests are just forced to drink coffee from Minnie and water from "Year of a Million Dreams" mugs. :rotfl: Maybe I should just take the leap and get Disney plates next....

In just three months we'll be at WDW again! I just can not wait. I do have to admit, with having a heat index of 104 today, I am looking forward to the cool weather. With school starting tomorrow it should go very quickly since those first few months always seem to just speed on by. Amy starts seventh grade and Emily starts high school tomorrow. I am so nervous about her starting high school! Where do the years go?! It feels like yesterday they were both starting K. My room is ready and patiently waiting for new kids to arrive.
Amy has no idea what she'd like to wear tomorrow and her sister is shocked about that. Emily got her backpack ready for school two weeks ago and chose her first day of school outfit in the beginning of July! Amy is scrambling to get herself ready. Last year it was the complete opposite. I think it's kind of funny how they completely switched personalities in a year.
Emily thought it would be a good idea if she wore a long sleeve shirt and jeans tomorrow! Really? In Florida? In August? Where the heat index is over a 100? Not in this life time, honey. This is also the girl who talks about what her plans are for when she retires on a daily basis. Just the other day the two of us were in the car together where the discussion of Vegas came up. I told her about the time I made the mistake of going there during the summer. This leads her to say "I don't really have a desire to go to Vegas. Oh wait! I know! I can go there when I retire to take pictures!" (She plans on being a professional photographer!)
I told her she is the only 14 year old I have ever met that talks about her retiring plans daily. Amy hurt her wrist the other day and is now in a cast and has a hard time writing. She's fine, though. Amy told me she'd like a Hawaiian birthday pool party for her birthday. She'll be getting a Polynesion party.
I got a call from the body shop a few days ago. When they took the car apart they learned there was even more damage so now it will be a few more weeks and even more money. I should have the car back the weekend of the 17th. The rental car smelled like Lotso until we finally found the hidden air freshener yesterday..
Tonight for dinner we had Toy Story mac and cheese. Emily declared that they were just "just too cool for words!"
That's all I can think worth mentioning now from my acre of the woods. Sorry for such a short, boring update. I have to go finish getting ready for tomorrow.

Sounds like you have all been busy, busy! Happy First Day of School tomorrow! Next year I will have a 6th grader and a 9th grader so I feel your pain! Bummer about the car taking longer to fix, but I had to laugh when you said it smelled like Lotso.
