Been There, Done That, and Yes, We’re Going Back! New 5/8- I'm back!

OOPS! Sorry to hear about the car accident, but thank goodness that everyone is safe and not hurt. A car can always be fixed.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes! I'll reply to you all tomorrow. I got a call from the insurance company before saying they got a call from the girl's insurance that hit me. She admitted it was her fault so my insurance won't go up or anything! Having her admit it is a huge relief. I was worried she would try to say I slammed my brakes or something! (Which I didn't! There was a red light so I slowed down and then stopped. Emily said she turned around and there was no one and then 35 seconds later... boom. She had to be speeding. The shop is going to start working on the car tomorrow and I should have it back in 2-3 weeks. I'm getting my rental car tomorrow Luckily, the insurance company is taking care of the cost and I'll get an Altima. (The car I have!)

In Georgia there is a law that says, no matter what, the person doing the rear-ending is at fault. Is it not the same in Florida?

So glad you are all okay and that the insurance is covering everything. You'll probably be 'skiddish' for a while. I've been hit a couple of times, and the last one that hit me and spun me around into a telephone pole has had long-lasting effects. Any time I even think a car is coming out too far on a side street or parking area, I just cringe and slow down to be sure they are really stopping. (I think maybe that wreck is what messed my knee up, because it hit on the dashboard pretty hard.)

Anyway, it is good that only the car was hurt. :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about your accident. :sad2: I'm glad to hear that everyone is okay and that insurance is covering the cost.

I'm so glad you are all alright! Accidents are terrible
When I saw the update was "Bad News" I was afraid your trip was canceled or something!

oh man that was what I was thinking...

so glad you are OK and everything will work out w/ getting your car fixed :littleangel:

Yea, I still have that feeling. DH and I were hit one time on the highway and we were spinning in circles! I thought that would be the end.
This time I didn't move. I read in the car manual that the car is supposed to crumble into a "V" to not hurt the passengers. The girl that hit us had this giant metal bar and I think that's what did the car.
Florida drivers are crazy! I always drive with my hand very close to the horn. I'm not too mad at myself because there was no place for me to go to avoid it.
We have that in Maryland, too. :confused3
We don't have that in Florida. My mom said NJ has it.
Sorry to hear about your accident. :sad2: I'm glad to hear that everyone is okay and that insurance is covering the cost.
Thank you! I'm glad we're all o.k, too. Emily's arm still hurts her and she's upset she can't go to band camp tomorrow so I let the girls each invite a friend to come over tomorrow.

As soon as I saw the car I thought "There goes the trip!" I'm thrilled it won't cost a dime and our insurance won't go up.

We got into a car accident earlier today! My 4 month old car got hit from the behind!!! We're all o.k, thank heavens. Emily has some soft tissue but that's the worst of us all. Thankfully, the insurance company is taking care of everything! My friend took us home. I'm not really in the mood to talk about it all right now, but I'll keep you all updated!
Mitch is out of the country on business until Sunday, of course! I don't know how to drive his mini van so I need to rent a car.

Oh no! How awful!

I am SO glad that she admitted it was hear fault and you don't have the hassle of dealing with her or paying for the rental. Although, the situation is stressful either way! I hope Emily feels better soon.

Glad it's all working out okay! Still a hassle, but it could be much worse, what a relief!

love all the great shopping finds :thumbsup2

good score on the trading pins...did you check online to see if you purchase more of the Tink summerware :confused3
I didn't think of checking the website! That's probably not the best idea for me, though! I'm known to be very tempted to spend the extra money to get free shipping.
Note taken. If we end up near each other while watching I'll be sure to protect Henry. ;) :rotfl: (or just have Joe watch him and I'll join in the dancing!)
Oh, yes, keep little Henry FAR away from Liesa when Baroque Hoedown is playing.
It's the Baroque Hoedown, resistance is futile.
Maybe they should have a separate viewing area for people like us who just can't stay still?:cool1:
So sorry to hear of your accident.
Thank you!
Oh no! I'm glad everyone is okay for the most part. Take care of yourselves!
Thank you! I'm glad that we're all o.k, too.
I'm so glad you are all alright! Accidents are terrible
When I saw the update was "Bad News" I was afraid your trip was canceled or something!
Thanks! Ahh, I would of thought the same, too.
Ahhhh! I'm so glad you are all okay!!!! And that everything will be covered with the insurance...but what a hassle. hugs to you!
Thanks, Brook! It is a pain but at least she admitted it so it makes everything easier! One time a girl hit me and it took weeks before she admitted it was her fault! It's definitely something I did not want to add to my last the last few weeks of summer.
Love your planning binder!

What about trying TIW? Would it be a better deal than paying the inflated DDP rates?

I'm sorry I missed your birthday--I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating!!

Hershey looks like a great time. I will have to consider it for a family vacation sometime. :scratchin

Great shopping finds!! I think we are going to hit the Disney Outlet tomorrow (or today if you look at the time stamp on this message). I wonder what we will find. :rolleyes1
I thought about TIW! I saw that Floridians can get it for 100$! Do you have to renew it every year or does it never expire? I may have to consider it.
Hope you went to sleep right after! You need energy for Disney shopping!!
I'm so sorry to hear that , Barbara!! What a pain!!
Thanks, Liesa!
I am so sorry to hear about the car accident, but I am glad everyone is okay!
Thanks, Jackie!
OOPS! Sorry to hear about the car accident, but thank goodness that everyone is safe and not hurt. A car can always be fixed.
I had the girls examined by their normal doctor! He was right across the street and I didn't want to scare them any more with an ambulance. The doctor said the same thing about the car being fixable.
So sorry to hear about your accident. Glad everyone is doing OK! :goodvibes
Thanks, Denise!
In Georgia there is a law that says, no matter what, the person doing the rear-ending is at fault. Is it not the same in Florida?
We don't have that law! I'm pretty sure we used to, though. I couldn't sleep the night after because there was a red light but I left a gap for a car to pull out of the gas station! So, I thought maybe she would try to use that as an excuse!! I did some research to see if you have to leave space in Florida but I couldn't find anything.

Thanks!!
I had to deal with someone trying to lie one time and it was a lot of work and took weeks! I appreciated her being open and honest! I did feel bad for her she was only 18/19 and I could tell she really was upset. It just so happened that her boy friend was at the gas station I told her to pull into. (It was like a foot away from the scene!)
Glad it's all working out okay! Still a hassle, but it could be much worse, what a relief!
Me too. It could be a lot worse. I think they're going to start working on it tomorrow. It's going to take a few weeks to fix and then the body shop is an hour and a half away and right near a beach, so DH said we could use points for a beach hotel when we pick up the car!

DH got home from India today! It was nice to have him home after him being gone for 10 days! Alamo (or something close, or even far from that!) is picking me up at 7 AM for me to get the rental. I'm working at the assistant living at 10. I've had this job for a few months now, but I don't think I told anyone here! It's every Monday and I always have a few seniors in their late 90s who are great artists! Much easier then kids, they know what to do, and I just hand out water colors and give them tips. They like to use Emily's pictures. I got her a camera a few months ago and she takes some AMAZING pictures! I'll have to share a few.

Yeah, it could be like the MSEP mosh pit. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

The mini-beach trip will be a very nice ending to the whole car ordeal!!

Glad to hear your DH is back!! Teaching the Seniors sounds really relaxing and enjoyable...they actually listen!

Yeah, it could be like the MSEP mosh pit. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Oh can you imagine?!?! :lmao:

Yeah, it could be like the MSEP mosh pit. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:
And then after the mosh pit viewers get to go to the Wishes dessert party for free.:thumbsup2:lmao:

Thank you!
It's super easy! All you basically do is complement their work and ask how the grandkids are doing! Much easier "Then look up here!" "Color BEFORE you cut!" "Oh, Nick you missed the project up and need to start alll over, maybe were you talking when I was giving instructions!!"

My little princess, Amy turned 12 today! I just can not believe my little girl is 12!!!! It was a great day, nice, simple, and fun; just her personality! I'll post pictures from today once they're done uploading, but for now.......
some baby pictures!

Yes, she's a natural Disney girl! Amy got started with the magic at 2 months and Emily 5 weeks! We lived in Orlando for 12 years so we went so often that even I GOT sick of it! Crazy, isn't it!?!
These are from a wax museum in NYC taken about a month ago. The girls had a blast posing with all the different wax figures!

Summer is unfortunately winding down. Stores are already stacking up on Halloween, and yes, Christmas merchandise! I do have to admit the Christmas decor does make me excited for the trip! It's time to face the music and head back to my classroom! I went there yesterday and I just started putting things in piles and I started to get an idea of how I want to organize things, and make a thousand and six lists. We whistle "heigh ho, heigh ho, it's of to work we go!" on the 23rd. Tomorrow is the girls' last day of camp! Amy is in a dance/art camp and Emily is going a camp for swim team! Oddly enough, it doesn't apply to my daughter that maybe if she will be outside swimming for six hours perhaps she should keep applying lotion?! Nope, burnt like a lobster! Her entire body is burnt!
Mitch says he wants to go away before school starts since we didn't have a real family vacation this summer. First it was leave tomorrow and rent points for BCV! Then it was leave Saturday! Now he can't take this weekend off and we should go on Tuesday to either Disney or the beach! He won't know until Sunday! Ughh! But, yes there is a possibility of Disney in less then week! I know, I know, I'm becoming the girl who cried trip!

Happy Birthday, Amy!!!! Have a pixie filled day!!

Happy Birthday to Amy! Hope she has a wonderful birthday!

Fingers crossed that you are able to take a quick trip to Disney next week!
