Sounds like a great nonpark day
So, what movie did Tim see? Curiosity got the best of me
That is too funny about texting Diane and her family that you were watching them...
Whopee cushions rock
Boardwalk looks like fun. How scary that must have been to have lost Lauren. Glad she was okay.
With those crowds, so easy to happen to anyone
one more thing...Love your shirt

Where did you get that at?
Tim saw Transformers 2 that day, he loved it. The shirt I got at Hollywood Studios in the gift shop as you exit the Backlot tour, I LOVE it!!!
Lesley, looks like you had a nice resort day, even with the crowds. SSR really needs to make another food area - they keep expanding the resort, but not the food venues.
The contemporary area looks really cool!

I always think it doesn't look exotic enough to want to stay there, and I can't help but think of Austin Powers when I see the pics of BLT (sorry, just my opinion

) But the restaurants and monorail look so fun!
The blind man was so nice to spend time teaching the kids!
I try to avoid arcades, too! Funny how much fun they had with the whoopee coushion!

Can't wait to see how the 4th went!
It was a great resort day. Glad you enjoyed hte update and the whoopee coushion antics : )
Great report so far...
Don't you just love those cheap prizes that the kids get with their tickets... Luke was lucky to have gotten several replacements.. lol
I know I may be jumping the gun but did you guys do the Characters in Flight Balloon ride at DTD?
Glad you are enjoying it. No, we didn't end up doing the Characters in flight, it's so stinkin' expensive. If they had an AP or DVC discount Iwould consider it.
What a wonderful day! We absolutely LOVED Chef Mickey's! It was definately our favourite meal on site! We didn't have free dining so we did very few onsite sit down meals but that was definately our favourite!
We felt the choice was great and the characters were fab with the kids!
Anyhow sounds like another lovely chilled day and the photos are fab as always!
I love the T-shirt you are wearing! I have something similar in Pink but its Sorcerer Mickey fighting a dragon alot like the one that Malificent turns into in Sleeping Beauty with the castle - I love mine!
Keep 'em coming Lesley just loving reading them!

Hi Careen, yeah, Chef Mickey's is a good time. Your t shirt sounds cool too : )
I have decided that 18 days in WDW is the "only" way to do it!

Sleeping in, relaxing non-park days, really taking your time and enjoying being together and with friends. It all sounds so great!!!
Sorry for the scare with Lauren!

Glad you were reunited so quickly.
I didn't remember that you were staying in BLT for your Oct trip! I can't wait to hear all about it!!
I wish we could do 18 days again, those developer points were awesome. It was a scare with Lauren but luckily we found her quickly. More to come on the OCt. trip for sure.
Lesley, it looks like you guys had a great time, but WOW--the crowds. I have never been there during peak season so it is hard for me to even imagine! We really enjoy Saratoga Springs--we love the Turkey sandwich at Artist's Palette---I think about it when I am home making a plain old turkey sandwich!!!
Sorry about losing Lauren! Our kids tend to be too comfortable in Disney and like to wander...nerve racking!
Take care and I am looking forward to the next installment!
Yeah, the crowds were crazy. Id idn't try the turkey sandwich, next time : )
Great pictures! That was quite a tower Lauren built and she looked very cute with the princess hat and her Minnie shirt!! Loved the one of Luke "blocking your sun and him with the kids in front of the fireworks!
Taking the taxi seemed like a great idea and a much nicer way to finish the night.
Glad you enjoyed hte pics. The taxi was definitely the way to go.
Sounds like a great day all around! I can't believe the crowds!!!! No way would i have gone in to the MK either. The boardwalk looks like so much fun, I really want to try to get there in Sept. Great update!
It was a great day, happy you enjoyed reading about it. Have fun in September!
So is the boardwalk worth the trip? I've enjoyed this TR so much. Now I want to know if we will be getting a PTR for October!! I'm so glad you get to go in the fall. We went last November and LOVED it then. Now you need to try and arrange a Christmas trip! Then one during Flower and Garden Festival in the spring.............. and the list goes on!!
Boardwalk was worth the trip, especially if you have a meal planned there, lots of great places to eat and the strolling entertainers were great.
Oh no, that must have been so scary when you couldn't find Lauren! Looks like she enjoyed her big lollipop though.
I also love your t-shirt...that is so cute!
It was scary, yes she really enjoyed thelollipop : ) Thanks for the shirt compliment, my favorite souvie this year.
Wow!! It was sure crowded at MK too!!! You must have been terrified when Lauren was lost! It is the scariest feeling in the world. So glad she was safe!
It sure was crowded! It was scary, glad she was safe and found quickly!

More crowds- bleh! Looks like a fun day though. Thanks for the pics of SSR.
Bleh indeed : ) You are welcome, MANY more SSR pics to come.
You may be waiting till the end of the report to
talk about how you felt staying for almost 3 wks.
Do you think that will for the norm for your summer
trip?? It had to be nice to have those extra days to just
relax and avoid the crowds!
I WISH, we don't have enough points to do that every summer(developer points made it possible this year) , we're doing 9 nights next summer but with going in October hopefully we'll get relaxing time in there too.
I am still giggling over your "stalking" of Diane and the boys at Chef Mickey's -- that's a classic trip moment right there!
Those crowds look insane!!! I can't stand being in big crowds, and I just know I would have been freaking out! I would have hightailed it back to the resort for sure!
Glad we could make you giggle. Yes, crowds were insane so we hightailed it out of there.
Just wanted to say that you've done a great job with your tr! Wow...I can't believe you got to be in Disney on vacation for that long!!

I read another one of your tr's awhile back where you were at Wilderness Lodge. You are a wonderful writer! I just had to comment on this picture because it made me laugh. That's me in the background with the black pants and white top. I'm an elementary school teacher so I teach during the year and spend my summers as a hostess at Chef Mickey's! Little did I know I would be part of your tr!

Great report...keep up the good work!
Thank you so much, you are so sweet. That is too funny you were in the pic! I should have come down to Disney to work when we didn't have kids, what a great idea!
Funny PJ, I thought that was you, and was going to point that out!
Now those crowds are even MORE INSANE!!! I think you made the right choice.
Looks like you had fun at the Boardwalk - minus losing Lauren - poor baby!
Glad Lauren found a CM to help her out. I know you were relieved when you finally found her.
I want to know what movie Tim saw too.
Love that the blind man was so kind to the children and took the time out of his day to explain. Cool!!!
Happy you enjoyed the update. He saw Transformers 2 : ) It was a great night.
Can't believe Lauren got lost again this year! So scary! Glad she was easily found and looked very happy with her giant lollipop.
Another great day. Nice to have a non-park day. The crowds looked crazy! Swimming and Chef Mickey's and the Boardwalk and friends. What could be better?! We love walking around the Boardwalk. Love the atmosphere. This year we did a surrey bike. There's a tough hill to get up when you're coming back around, over by the Swan and Dolphin. Makes your legs feel like jello! It was on Sophie's wish list for the trip. Since we didn't end up getting to see Fantasmic we had to do the surrey bike.
Sounds like the kids had a great time with the whoopee cushion. What is it about those things? And I'm with you - don't care much for arcades.
Looking forward to the next installment. Are you going to have time to finish the TR before school starts? I'm thinking it's got to be soon that you go back. My poor girls start tomorrow. I'm still in denial right now, but I guess it'll all be a reality tomorrow morning.
Hi Alice, the bikes can be a workout for sure, we rented one at WL a while ago. I will not have time to get it done before school starts, things are crazy right now, my open house is on Monday, kids start back on Wednesday and I start back on Thursday, but I'll get it done, don't worry ; ) Hope your girls had a good start back.
How scary to lose Lauren! But she is a smart cookie and knew just what to do!
It was scary, yes, luckily she knew what to do.
