Been There, Done That and ThenSome:Timandlesley Do Disneyfor18days!11/2 TR IS UP!pg79

It was at this moment that I got a text from Tim telling me that he was stuck on the Figment ride, KILL HIM! I’m sorry but I had to laugh… that is just stinkin’ hilarious! He was stuck on the ride for about 10 minutes and he said the music kept going…… and going…… and going……… He wasn’t happy when he came off the ride(notice Luke pointing and laughing at him)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Oh my GOSH! I love this story, and I love this picture!

As we headed to the World Showcase we saw a squirrel under a bench eating popcorn and STUPID people PETTING the squirrel

Ummmmm.... DUH!?!?!:sad2:

This Aurora was WONDERFUL!!!
What a fun surprise!!

After our wonderful princess encounter we headed to America, I wanted to see voices of Liberty based on Sooze’s recommendation.
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:YIPPEE!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We went inside and we went upstairs because that is where they wanted Tim with his ECV (the elevator took us to the top of the rotunda). The singers were AMAZING!

This makes me sad that they made Tim go upstairs. The sound and experience of Voices of Liberty is SOOOOOOO much better when you are on the floor in front of them. The acoustics are superb!

We got Shae and Tyson out for their mom’s favorite show:
061640x480.jpg
Awwww.. thanks! They've never seen Voices of Liberty from upstairs! ;)

THE LEADER WAS DOLLY FROM HOOP DE DOO REVIEW WHO HAD PULLED LUKE UP ON STAGE, see her in the brown dress
When I saw your Hoop Dee Doo update, I never would've pegged Dolly as the VoL leader... so I went back and looked at your pictures again, and, sure enough, it WAS her! I agree.. she has two GREAT gigs!! She's been around forever, tho! 90% of the time we have seen VoL, she's been there, leading the way!

It was such a nice unseasonably cool night that we actually ASKED to eat outside
How nice that the weather broke for you! Days like that can rejuvenate you :thumbsup2:

That is making me crave a TGI Friday's mudslide right now! (Not that Luke was drinking a mudslide.. but it sure looks like one!)

It's great that you got to spend time doing some of the activities that SSR offers. Probably another advantage to taking such a long vacation.. you can take time to enjoy the resort!

:scared1: Holy COW!!

As we were waiting it started to thunder a bit and they CANCELLED the show, poor Lauren, she was disappointed.
:sad1: Man... I hate when that happens. I sure hope you got to see another one!

As you wait for it to start a camera guy comes out and films the crowd. You know how on the American Idol show they show the persons home town, people cheering for them, etc. – they do all of that but use the crowd waiting to make the videos-
I was the contestant that had an American Idol "talk" to me. It was super cheesy!!

It was a GREAT show, there was a really talented guy who won- he sang “Sweet Home Alabama”, we was AWESOME! We all really enjoyed it.
I can't wait to get back there in November to sit and watch a few shows. It really is GOOD!!

I was disappointed to see that Disney finally got wise and shrunk the kids pizzas to TEENIE TINY pizzas- so you can’t share credits here anymore, our kids would have been starving if we would have made them share those teenie things.
Man, those Disney execs don't let ANYTHING slide, do they!?!

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:WOW WOW WOW!! How miserable! Don't you feel sorry for the people who are there for the first time? This is what they experience at one of the coolest places in DHS? How disappointing!

What a great non-park day!!!! Your dinner at CM's looked and sounded GREAT!!! We are going there for our first time in September, and Megs is going to be SO thrilled that Minnie is there!!!! She LOVES her!

Sounds like a great nonpark day

So, what movie did Tim see? Curiosity got the best of me

That is too funny about texting Diane and her family that you were watching them...

Whopee cushions rock

Boardwalk looks like fun. How scary that must have been to have lost Lauren. Glad she was okay.

With those crowds, so easy to happen to anyone :goodvibes

one more thing...Love your shirt :lovestruc Where did you get that at?
Tim saw Transformers 2 that day, he loved it. The shirt I got at Hollywood Studios in the gift shop as you exit the Backlot tour, I LOVE it!!!
Lesley, looks like you had a nice resort day, even with the crowds. SSR really needs to make another food area - they keep expanding the resort, but not the food venues.

The contemporary area looks really cool!:thumbsup2 I always think it doesn't look exotic enough to want to stay there, and I can't help but think of Austin Powers when I see the pics of BLT (sorry, just my opinion ;)) But the restaurants and monorail look so fun!

The blind man was so nice to spend time teaching the kids!
I try to avoid arcades, too! Funny how much fun they had with the whoopee coushion! :rotfl2: Can't wait to see how the 4th went!
It was a great resort day. Glad you enjoyed hte update and the whoopee coushion antics : )

Great report so far... :thumbsup2

Don't you just love those cheap prizes that the kids get with their tickets... Luke was lucky to have gotten several replacements.. lol

I know I may be jumping the gun but did you guys do the Characters in Flight Balloon ride at DTD?
Glad you are enjoying it. No, we didn't end up doing the Characters in flight, it's so stinkin' expensive. If they had an AP or DVC discount Iwould consider it.

What a wonderful day! We absolutely LOVED Chef Mickey's! It was definately our favourite meal on site! We didn't have free dining so we did very few onsite sit down meals but that was definately our favourite!

We felt the choice was great and the characters were fab with the kids!

Anyhow sounds like another lovely chilled day and the photos are fab as always!

I love the T-shirt you are wearing! I have something similar in Pink but its Sorcerer Mickey fighting a dragon alot like the one that Malificent turns into in Sleeping Beauty with the castle - I love mine!

Keep 'em coming Lesley just loving reading them!

Carreen
xxx
Hi Careen, yeah, Chef Mickey's is a good time. Your t shirt sounds cool too : )

I have decided that 18 days in WDW is the "only" way to do it! Sleeping in, relaxing non-park days, really taking your time and enjoying being together and with friends. It all sounds so great!!!

Sorry for the scare with Lauren! Glad you were reunited so quickly.

I didn't remember that you were staying in BLT for your Oct trip! I can't wait to hear all about it!!

I wish we could do 18 days again, those developer points were awesome. It was a scare with Lauren but luckily we found her quickly. More to come on the OCt. trip for sure.
Lesley, it looks like you guys had a great time, but WOW--the crowds. I have never been there during peak season so it is hard for me to even imagine! We really enjoy Saratoga Springs--we love the Turkey sandwich at Artist's Palette---I think about it when I am home making a plain old turkey sandwich!!!

Sorry about losing Lauren! Our kids tend to be too comfortable in Disney and like to wander...nerve racking!

Take care and I am looking forward to the next installment!
Yeah, the crowds were crazy. Id idn't try the turkey sandwich, next time : )
Great pictures! That was quite a tower Lauren built and she looked very cute with the princess hat and her Minnie shirt!! Loved the one of Luke "blocking your sun and him with the kids in front of the fireworks!

Taking the taxi seemed like a great idea and a much nicer way to finish the night.:thumbsup2
Glad you enjoyed hte pics. The taxi was definitely the way to go.
Sounds like a great day all around! I can't believe the crowds!!!! No way would i have gone in to the MK either. The boardwalk looks like so much fun, I really want to try to get there in Sept. Great update!:goodvibes
It was a great day, happy you enjoyed reading about it. Have fun in September!
So is the boardwalk worth the trip? I've enjoyed this TR so much. Now I want to know if we will be getting a PTR for October!! I'm so glad you get to go in the fall. We went last November and LOVED it then. Now you need to try and arrange a Christmas trip! Then one during Flower and Garden Festival in the spring.............. and the list goes on!!
Boardwalk was worth the trip, especially if you have a meal planned there, lots of great places to eat and the strolling entertainers were great.

Oh no, that must have been so scary when you couldn't find Lauren! Looks like she enjoyed her big lollipop though. :)

I also love your t-shirt...that is so cute!

It was scary, yes she really enjoyed thelollipop : ) Thanks for the shirt compliment, my favorite souvie this year.
Wow!! It was sure crowded at MK too!!! You must have been terrified when Lauren was lost! It is the scariest feeling in the world. So glad she was safe!
It sure was crowded! It was scary, glad she was safe and found quickly!

:scared: More crowds- bleh! Looks like a fun day though. Thanks for the pics of SSR. :goodvibes
Bleh indeed : ) You are welcome, MANY more SSR pics to come.
You may be waiting till the end of the report to
talk about how you felt staying for almost 3 wks.
Do you think that will for the norm for your summer
trip?? It had to be nice to have those extra days to just
relax and avoid the crowds!:goodvibes
I WISH, we don't have enough points to do that every summer(developer points made it possible this year) , we're doing 9 nights next summer but with going in October hopefully we'll get relaxing time in there too.

I am still giggling over your "stalking" of Diane and the boys at Chef Mickey's -- that's a classic trip moment right there!

Those crowds look insane!!! I can't stand being in big crowds, and I just know I would have been freaking out! I would have hightailed it back to the resort for sure!
Glad we could make you giggle. Yes, crowds were insane so we hightailed it out of there.

Just wanted to say that you've done a great job with your tr! Wow...I can't believe you got to be in Disney on vacation for that long!! :thumbsup2 I read another one of your tr's awhile back where you were at Wilderness Lodge. You are a wonderful writer! I just had to comment on this picture because it made me laugh. That's me in the background with the black pants and white top. I'm an elementary school teacher so I teach during the year and spend my summers as a hostess at Chef Mickey's! Little did I know I would be part of your tr! :lmao: Great report...keep up the good work!
Thank you so much, you are so sweet. That is too funny you were in the pic! I should have come down to Disney to work when we didn't have kids, what a great idea!
Funny PJ, I thought that was you, and was going to point that out! :goodvibes

Now those crowds are even MORE INSANE!!! I think you made the right choice. ::yes::

Looks like you had fun at the Boardwalk - minus losing Lauren - poor baby! :sad2:

Glad Lauren found a CM to help her out. I know you were relieved when you finally found her.

I want to know what movie Tim saw too.

Love that the blind man was so kind to the children and took the time out of his day to explain. Cool!!!
Happy you enjoyed the update. He saw Transformers 2 : ) It was a great night.

Can't believe Lauren got lost again this year! So scary! Glad she was easily found and looked very happy with her giant lollipop.

Another great day. Nice to have a non-park day. The crowds looked crazy! Swimming and Chef Mickey's and the Boardwalk and friends. What could be better?! We love walking around the Boardwalk. Love the atmosphere. This year we did a surrey bike. There's a tough hill to get up when you're coming back around, over by the Swan and Dolphin. Makes your legs feel like jello! It was on Sophie's wish list for the trip. Since we didn't end up getting to see Fantasmic we had to do the surrey bike.

Sounds like the kids had a great time with the whoopee cushion. What is it about those things? And I'm with you - don't care much for arcades.

Looking forward to the next installment. Are you going to have time to finish the TR before school starts? I'm thinking it's got to be soon that you go back. My poor girls start tomorrow. I'm still in denial right now, but I guess it'll all be a reality tomorrow morning.
Hi Alice, the bikes can be a workout for sure, we rented one at WL a while ago. I will not have time to get it done before school starts, things are crazy right now, my open house is on Monday, kids start back on Wednesday and I start back on Thursday, but I'll get it done, don't worry ; ) Hope your girls had a good start back.

How scary to lose Lauren! But she is a smart cookie and knew just what to do!
It was scary, yes, luckily she knew what to do.

Great pool day. Chef Mickey's looked like fun. I love all the pics of yours and Diane's families. The whoopie cushion story is great ... kids are so funny. The story about the seeing eye dog was really neat. I am always amazed how dogs can be trained to do that.
The eye dog was amazing!

Look at those crowds!!! The first year we took our kids was over July 4th. It was insane!! Looks like another great day though! Fun with Chef Mickey!!!
I know, crowds were crazy, I don't want to go at holiday time again!

First of all, I love your shirt, Leslie! I think it might be the cutest Disney shirt I've ever seen! :cutie: Did you get it at the Disney store? I think I remember it from your PTR, but don't remember where you got it...

It looks like your family had SUCH a great time at Chef Mickey's :thumbsup2 And that is hilarious that Luke kept getting new whoopie cushions! :rotfl: Sorry you lost Lauren. But thank goodness it was at Disney and they have the greatest CMs ever that know how to handle things like that. :thumbsup2
Thanks, I love the shirt too! Got it at HS in the gift shop you go through when you come out of Backlot tour.

Long time lurker here. Just wanted to say how much I enjoy all your reports. I love how you are able to capture all the details and how the whole famlily has so much fun.
Thanks for posting, means a lot, thanks for your sweet comments.

Looks like it was a great pool day. I also love your shirt. Very cute!! The whoopee cushion episode is hilarious!! Lauren was very brave to go & ask for another one. Sorry she got lost again!! I love being on the boardwalk at night. Another great update.:thumbsup2

It was a great pool day, glad you enjoyed the update!
Another great installment.

I love the idea of lounging around the pool all day and then going to dinner at Chef Mickey's...what fun! We love Chef Mickey's! My DD said you should know that Mickey is her man (mouse). You definately have some competition....:lovestruc she plans on marrying Mickey someday.

I love the whoopee cushion story...how funny. Kudos to Luke for asking for another and for convincing his sister to do it too! :lmao:

Sorry to hear Lauren got lost. How scary... Thankfully she wasn't lost for long.

Leslie...I really love your t-shirt. Where did you get it? It is very cute!

Thanks for sharing! Darlene
Uh oh, looks like I have competition : ) I got the shirt (my favorite souvie) at the Backlot Tour gift shop.

The crowds at DHS were unreal!! Seems like you were still able to get quite a bit done, despite all the people-except RnRC! :sad2:

I'm glad to hear they might have made some improvements at Chef Mickey's. We loved the character interaction there, but the food was only "meh". Maybe we'll try it again sometime! I laughed how you guys texted her-she must have been SO surprised! :rotfl:
The crowds were unreal. Glad you enjoyed the installment, thanks for reading/posting

The crowds were crazy! I will have to remember to never go the week of the 4th...DH hates really big crowds like that. You night at Chef Mickey's looked great and that you had good character interaction. The whole whoopie cushion part is hilarious! It's really neat that your family and Diane's get along so well...just adds to the Disney fun.

So you guys are staying at Bay Lake Towers in Oct? I think I totally missed that part. Those rooms look amazing and the views look even better! I will def. be waiting for a TR on that one with tons of pictures!

Yes, crowds were crazy!!! Yes, can't wait to stay at BLT in October, I will do a TR, don't worry : )
What a great non-park day! I got a kick out of the whoopie cushion episodes. That was a good choice on Luke's part...and going back for 2 new ones...:rotfl:

Poor Lauren...I'm so glad she found a CM and that it wasn't but a few minutes that she was away from y'all.
Glad you enjoyed reading about it. Poor Lauren indeed, it was awful
Another great update!! Reading your TR really makes me miss WDW!! I love Chef Mickey's. Just so much fun. So sorry for Lauren getting lost again. At least she knows to find a CM right away, and not try to find you!
Glad you enjoyed the update, yes, glad she knew what to do!
Oooooo... I wouldn't miss THAT for the world!

I

Actually, I don't know the rest! I have NEVER seen it! Do you tink Ty or Shae would like it? I know Matt would HATE it!!

Oh, Lesley... :sad2:

This is another Disney gem I have yet to see in person! I'm going to hunt him down like I did Devine!

Did you see the CM doing the talking? He's usually dressed in plainclothes and has a bag with the sound equipment in it. Then he casually talks into his hand. I saw this a few years ago with another 'talking' display like that!
Yes, I think Shae would like it, it's a cute show. Don't worry, only had the poncho on for 5 min : )
I totally agree! We got Shaelyn a $16.99 one from Wal-mart!

She is SO beautiful!!
)
Aww... don't you just LOVE that?! :lovestruc

Oh no... not Tim, too!?!!

Ok, that's just weird. I can't wait to hear more about it!
Yes, Tim too : ) Good buy for Shae, thanks for the Lauren compliment : )
Ok, Tim... thanks for making us think that this update was going to be terrible... give yourself more credit! It was GREAT!!

Luke, that's EXACTLY what I would've thought!:rotfl:

I don't know, Tim... many of the dudes that work at Disney would've loved the sex appeal! :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

Wow.. the person in that Mike Wazowski costume has to be SUPER short!!

Glad you boys got to spend a special day together. It sure was fun getting to hear both sides of the morning! ... as wet as they both were!
Didn't he do a agreat job. You're right Mike must be SUPER short!!! Funny about the sex appeal ; )
I have NEVER heard of this!! Which Innoventions is it in? The one by Mission Space, or the one by Soarin'? (I don't know East/West!)

Looks like such a fun time. I need to check that out with Tyson!

Ok, never heard of THIS, either! :confused3

WHHAAATTT?!!? Ok.. I have GOT to slow down and really see what is in that Innoventions place. Tyson and I always end up doing the same things!
Yes, you NEED to check out Innoventions, I think it was in West, but not 100% positive, both East and West have GREAT things inside, check em' out!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Oh my GOSH! I love this story, and I love this picture!

Ummmmm.... DUH!?!?!:sad2:

What a fun surprise!!
Glad you enjoyed it! DUH indeed!!!
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:YIPPEE!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

This makes me sad that they made Tim go upstairs. The sound and experience of Voices of Liberty is SOOOOOOO much better when you are on the floor in front of them. The acoustics are superb!

Awwww.. thanks! They've never seen Voices of Liberty from upstairs! ;)

We'll definitely stay downstairs next time, they were great upstairs so can't imagine downstairs! Funny about Dolly huh!

:scared1: Holy COW!!

:sad1: Man... I hate when that happens. I sure hope you got to see another one!

I was the contestant that had an American Idol "talk" to me. It was super cheesy!!

I can't wait to get back there in November to sit and watch a few shows. It really is GOOD!!

Man, those Disney execs don't let ANYTHING slide, do they!?!

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:WOW WOW WOW!! How miserable! Don't you feel sorry for the people who are there for the first time? This is what they experience at one of the coolest places in DHS? How disappointing!
I know, I feel so sorry for the people who that was their first trip, would have been a major disapointment!
What a great non-park day!!!! Your dinner at CM's looked and sounded GREAT!!! We are going there for our first time in September, and Megs is going to be SO thrilled that Minnie is there!!!! She LOVES her!
She will love it, have fun!!!

I have been reading your trip report for the last couple of weeks and I am finally caught up. Your children are beautiful, and your husband seems to be so much fun. It sounds like you all had a wonderful trip. I will be waiting to hear more.

Day 10:
On our way there we ran into this AWESOME talking garbage can, I’d never seen it before. It would wheel around and talk to kids, say “thank you” when they put trash in”. He kept running up behind this one little girl and every time she took a sip of apple juice it would scream to get her to spit it out, it was very cute and funny, Lauren and I loved it

Loving your TR and wishing I could go back soon! We have seen this talking garbage can before and one time I kept hearing the garbage can in stereo. I turned around and saw a man talking into his hand and his other hand in his bag. You captured this man in your picture.

Can't wait for the next update! Will there be a PTR for your Oct trip? I"m addicted to your reports!!!

For a quick second, I thought the performer on the far right, on the steps, was doing something naughty!

I got a kick out of this old woman who was picked, she was GREAT, and was shimmying her heart out
I SOOOO would've loved that!!

we knew we were in for it- and BOY were we : )
YES!! I think the more obnoxious CM at 50's PTC are the much more fun ones!!

I had the meat loaf which was yummy and Tim ordered the Fried Chicken
:confused3 No pot roast?! :confused3
AWESOME picture. You captured a great moment here!

Yes, you saw that right, it’s greens covered in whipped cream and sprinkles.
:rotfl2: I have NEVER heard of them doing that before! Hilarious!!:rotfl2:

Time to use those Fast Passes!!!! We headed to Tower of Terror first:
Not that I want to speed up my kids' lifetimes, but I can't WAIT until we are all tall enough and brave enough to ride everything together! It looks so fun!!

Caught up again, and once again, you provided me with laughter and giggles! Loved the "whipped" greens!!! That was too funny! We love that place.
I still can't get over the crowd levels!!!:eek:

Whoo hoo! All caught up finally. The last time I read your TR was 7/31 so I had lots of catching up to do. Been working so many crazy hours with school starting. Hopefully I can keep up now. Waiting for more...

Hiya Tim and Lesley! I am only half way caught up -- on page 51! But I was away for two weeks! So just a few comments, what fun you all are having -- really!!! Despite the rain and the bum knee -- so cool that you spent so much time with Diane and her family! My favorite two lines thus far were "Mom was soaking wet, but the princess stayed dry" :lmao: and Luke the prodigal son yelling "run cripple run!" :rotfl2: That and some very adorable photos -- of the kids hugging eachother, the BBB photos!!! :goodvibes and the photo of Lauren in her "granny hair cover" are making this catch up session so much fun!!! HOWEVER, I think the icing on the cake was the photo of the typhoon above DHS -- -- from Tim's "story" and his admission that he "wished he had those Dang ponchos!!!" and finally, the 50s Prime Time story -- My DH had a similar experience with our waiter -- he was laughing when I showed him Tim's greens!! HIGHlarious!!!! :rotfl:
The crowds at DHS are CRAZY??!!??!! Was it a EMH day??!! I guess we picked the right park that day! I can't remember where we were, but it wasn't DHS!!! :crowded:
Your TR is such a delight to read! Okay, back at it! :surfweb:

Wow, I can't believe I just got through over 50 pages!! I'm LOVING your report. Also love your shoes - the Croc slides. Those are my Disney shoes! Although I wear them everyday - THE most comfortable shoes I have EVER worn!!

Well, thank you for such a great trip report. You have a beautiful, fun family!! I'm jealous of the number of days you stayed! Looking forward to the rest!!!

Read the whole thing yesterday (recovering from a wedding the night before!! LOL!!) and  it! Your kids are just too cute!! I told my kids that you were there 18 days and they freaked :scared1: out. They are SOOOO jealous. Someday, when I can get some more DVC points, we'll stay longer.

Great report and I can't wait for the rest!! popcorn:::rolleyes1:surfweb:
