Been There, Done That and ThenSome:Timandlesley Do Disneyfor18days!11/2 TR IS UP!pg79

What a way to start off the trip with a bang, we LOVE LOVE LOVE that show, it is so magical and just brings everything we love about Disney to life!
Then we headed to Toontown, it was Lauren’s goal this trip (and I have to admit, one of mine too) to meet the Fairies in the new Fairies exhibit. We got to the tent around 9:50 and the wait time already said 50 minutes, YIKES! Well, Lauren and I were bound and determined to wait, Tim and Luke on the other hand took one look at the wait time and didn’t want to have anything to do with the 50 minute line their first morning in the Magic Kingdom. We parted ways and the boys went to ride some rides while Lauren and I were in fairy land.
05850.jpg

The line went by quickly. I actually considered us fortunate because people were talking to the CM’s in line and they were telling them that the average wait time is THREE HOURS to see the fairies, YIKES!!!!
This is such an amazing exhibit, and the CM’s working it are amazing. Lauren truly believed she was the size of a fairy as we entered the fairy world. I was like a mad fool trying to hold the camera to take real pictures and take video at the same time. I’ll post the pictures first and the video I took at the end (sorry if it’s bumpy I was SERIOUSLY multi tasking while trying to experience it with Lauren all at the same time.
The first fairy was Iredessa (o.k. I realize I may spell these names wrong but I’m doing my best):
05950.jpg

She was AMAZING and later Lauren said she was her favorite. She took SO much time with Lauren talking with her and interacting with her, so very very sweet. Here she is admiring Lauren’s pins with fairies on them:
06050.jpg

Here is some of the interaction:
06150.jpg

So cute how she was hugging her as she was signing her autograph book:
06250.jpg

Lauren also loved her because of her sparkly gold eyelashes : )
06350.jpg

Then it was TIME FOR TINK!!! I gotta tell you, I was like a big kid here too, so excited to meet her. Boy oh boy did she live up to expectations.
Here is the video of Tink

06450.jpg

Lauren was a little nervous when talking to her, nervously fidgeting with her pins:
06550.jpg

Tink taught her how to pose:
06650.jpg

Then I got my sweaty self into a picture with Tink too:
06750.jpg

Next up Rosetta, she was super sweet too. They just spend so much time interacting with the kids here:
06850.jpg

06950.jpg

07050.jpg

Then we excited the magical door and were back to our normal sizes and went on with our day, WHAT AN EXPERIENCE, a highlight of the trip for Lauren (and me) for sure!
I called the boys, they had ridden Goofy’s Barnstormer and headed over to Frontierland and had ridden Haunted Mansion and were on the streets of Frontierland dodging the heat. It was SO super hot that day, heat index of 107!!! Tim was really feeling sorry for Luke walking around in the heat and he was complaining about it so they had stopped for a much needed snack and water break, we joined up with them. After we cooled off a bit we headed to grab Fast Passes for Splash Mountain and to enjoy Pirates of the Carribbean. Lauren, again had a fit at first when we entered the ride, she was screaming it was scary. Tim took her by the hand and explained the ride step by step and she calmed down.
Luke entering the ride:
07150.jpg

I always attempt photo’s of this ride, but without the flash they never turn out. Here is my Jack Sparrow attempt:
075.jpg

Feeling very “piratey” (if that’s a word) Tim and Luke started swashbuckling in the store:
07650.jpg

07750.jpg

And then Tim…………….. well…………………..uh………………………found some hand cuffs : )
07850.jpg

And he put them on Luke : )
07950.jpg

Did I mention how HOT IT WAS THAT DAY! So the kids enjoyed the Tiki Sprayers for a bit:
08050.jpg

08150.jpg

Tim decided to join in:
08250.jpg

Well, then, like I have said before, it was just so stinkin hot that we were looking for something to do in the shade. I went with our theme of “we’re going to be here so long, let’s experience something new each day” and suggested the Swiss Robinson Tree House:

Lauren at the wheel:
08550.jpg

Let’s just simply say my family were NOT fans of the treehouse. They were moaning about “is this it?” , “isn’t there a place to play?” or Tim: “oh, nice attraction, we walk up a million steps while we’re exhausted already!” We were laughing about it of course, but I don’t think we’ll ever do that again. Here is our view from the top:
08650.jpg

As we were coming out Tim announced to everyone within ear shot “WELL, THAT’S 10 MINUTES OF MY LIFE I WON’T BE GETTING BACK” : ) To which a couple of other men who were there with their wives who had insisted they go through it all smiled about his comment.
I saw Jasmine and Aladdin in the marketplace and the kids had never met them, so we decided to wait in that line. As we waited (in a line that took forever) Tim entertained us (and a few people standing by us) by randomly appearing in the gift shop with different items he was interacting with every few minutes, it was halarious:
08750.jpg

He was doing a tribal dance with a Mickey shaker in this one:
08850.jpg

08950.jpg

09050.jpg

09150.jpg

The kids and I were cracking up and it sure helped pass the time. Before we knew it, it was our turn:
09350.jpg

Aladdin was AWESOME! He interacted with Luke forever about how he met Jasmine, what rides Luke had ridden today, it was great (worth the wait):
09450.jpg

And Lauren had fun interacting with Jasmine:
09650.jpg

After this conversation with Jasmine Lauren spent the rest of her trip begging for one of the 80 dollar Jasmine outfits, she was definitely smitten by Jasmine : )
09750.jpg

We had lunch scheduled at Liberty Tree Tavern and by now it was lunch time and we were in some serious need of some air conditioning, so we checked in for lunch.
Here is Lauren having way too much fun with her salt and pepper shaker:
09950.jpg

I didn’t take too many food photo’s here, because we were so hungry and because the kids both had to pee two times during this meal and the bathrooms at this place are two flights of stairs up and the women’s bathroom has TWO STALLS, so I spent most of this meal waiting in a restroom line – lovely.
I ordered the Clam Chowder which was good for an appetizer and Tim had the fried mozerella, we both enjoyed those. We both ordered the pot roast which was good but kinda fatty this time around (it made our stomach’s upset a bit later). The kids both ordered the turkey dinner, they enjoyed their meals:
10050.jpg

The highlight of this meal for us is always the ooey gooey toffee cake, YUM!!!
10150.jpg

That is one of the best deserts on property hands down!
After our bellies were full from our lunch we headed to Splash Mountain to use our Fast Passes:
10550.jpg

10350.jpg

10650.jpg

10750.jpg

This is my favorite Magic Kingdom ride and I was so excited to be riding it!
10850.jpg

Lauren and I rode together and we got soaked going up the hill:
10950.jpg

11250.jpg

I was on a Disney high, just LOVE that ride! Well, it was such a scorcher that day and we were so hot and tired we decided to head back to the hotel for a rest. We headed up to the train station above Splash Mountain. Here are the kids cooling off with their spray fans in line:
11550.jpg

11650.jpg

Tyson and Shae enjoyed the train ride back:

On our way out of the gate, I don’t know how I never noticed this before but loved this:
11850.jpg

Oh yes you will!!!
Lauren and I waiting on our Animal Kingdom lodge bus:
11950.jpg

I gotta say, the bus service at Animal Kingdom Lodge was great, we never waited very long for buses, always had a seat (except for one night, which I’ll discuss later). So no complaints from me about AKL transportation!
We went back to the resort and Tim wasn’t feeling too well from lunch (I’m telling you, there was something in that pot roast this time), so he stayed up in the room while the kids and I hit the pool for the first time:
12050.jpg

What a great pool. Love how they have the life jackets poolside for the kids, the kids enjoyed the slide and I loved how Lauren was old enough to go down on her own with the life jacket, it was a great time swimming. LOVE the zero entry at AKL pool too. We swam for about an hour. Luke was excited on our way up to the room that he found a hidden Mickey on the ground:
12150.jpg

Then we headed upstairs, got undressed and laid down for a short snooze:
12250.jpg

We got showered and dressed and headed to Epcot for one of my favorite meals: Teppan Edu (I’m a sucker for ginger and Japanese food)
Here was our first view of the ball this trip:
12450.jpg

We took the long trek over to Japan, it was still so hot that we were dripping with sweat by the time we got there (sometimes you wonder why you even bother showering!?!)
12550.jpg

It was super busy that night. We waited about 30 minutes for our table. Here is Lauren dancing in the lobby:
12950.jpg

And then playing on my iPhone:
13050.jpg

It was time to be seated, they took us back to the very back of the restaurant that I didn’t know existed where they have some extra tables hidden, this restaurant is just beautiful. The CM’s here are awesome, so sweet. The waitress who seated us was very nice, of course reminding us about 50 times that the table was 500 degrees and to be careful and then she made the kid-friendly chop sticks for the kids. This expression I caught on her face cracks me up:
13250.jpg

Family photo of us at the restaurant:
13450.jpg

We had a great chef, she was awesome and very entertaining:
13550.jpg

13650.jpg

14050.jpg

Volcano time:
13850.jpg

She kept the kids on the edges of their seats : )
13750.jpg

The ginger salad here is just the best and the food is out of this world, YUM! I had TWO Tokoyo Sunsets (in my opinion the best alcoholic drink on property- they are SO good) I could have had three, they are AMAZING! We enjoyed our incredible meal and passed on desert because we were so stuffed.
After our early morning we decided not to stay for Illuminations this time around so we headed to Mousegears to shop around before heading out.
The kids were DYiNG to spend some of their spending money. Luke had been searching for a Talking Dug (from the movie UP) and they had them in Mousegears. Here is a VERY happy Luke with Dug:
14150.jpg

14350.jpg

Tim found some lime green Dis ears and tried them on:
14450.jpg

Shaelyn enjoyed the sucker selection:
14550.jpg

And Lauren found an adorable purse to spend her money on:
14650.jpg

Tim apparently decided to have a seat in the stroller :
14750.jpg

Dug was SUPER EXCITED!!! “A BALL, A BALL, OH BOY OH BOY A B-A-L-L!!!”
14950.jpg

(for those of you who haven’t seen UP yet, you won’t get that little joke, but trust me, you need to go see that movie, it’s GREAT!).
A Happy Lesley in Epcot:

Luke and Tim being their usually silly selves:

We found our bus stop:
15450.jpg

And I tried to take a good picture of Tim and I in line and Tim just wasn’t cooperating:
15650.jpg

15750.jpg

O.K, Tim can we GET serious !?! : )
15850.jpg

We went back to the resort and stopped by Mara (AKL’s food court) to buy a bottle of wine for me and to get some snacks. Then we headed up to the room. Luke was excited to introduce Dug to Pluto:
15950.jpg

They did some typical dog bonding (o.k., SERIOUSLY I didn’t stage this photo, it was my crazy son’s doing):
16050.jpg

Needless to say we were cracking up!!!
Lauren was super excited because when I bought my wine they gave us some “fancy plastic glasses” so she had fun drinking her grape juice in them:

Great update and I simply loved all the pictures! It makes me smile knowing I have a new TimandLesley trip report to read for the next….oh at least a couple months right? ;)

The interaction with Tink and the other fairies looked really fun. Glad Lauren had such a great time.

Way to go Tim on keeping everyone entertained in the Jasmine & Aladdin line! That’s SUCH a “Tim thing to do” :thumbsup2

LOVED Lauren’s dress for dinner. Very cute.

You got an awesome shot of the onion volcano! Super sweet!

That picture of Luke and Tim “being their usually silly selves” behind the big marble things was priceless…it almost looks sideways. I had to do a double take.

:lmao: at Luke’s “dog bonding” picture

Just a splendid update all around! Ahh….I’m in Disney heaven!!!

Great Update My son Al already wants Doug he passed the computer while I was reading and is like can you go back is that Doug oh can I get him. Where not even there yet and its already starting LOL.

I love your matching shirts!!

The picture of Tim and Luke hugging and looking at Walt and Mickey is wonderful!!

Y'all had a great first day!!

Sorry the treehouse was a disappointment. Now you know not to bother in the future. Of course you didn't waste too much time because you could make up for it since you were in Disney for 18 DAYS!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

That dog picture is priceless!!!! :rotfl:

Teppan Edo is one of my favorites too and I'm pretty sure we had the same waitress! :) How fun. Great, long, hilarious installment Lesley! Just how we like 'em. Your son and his dogs are too funny! Boys and their crude humor. ;)

Oh my goodness! What a great update! :thumbsup2 I loved all of the awesome pictures! The "dog bonding" and Tim's "10 minutes" comment cracked me up! I had to show them to my DH :rotfl: Lauren is so cute with her Tink purse :goodvibes Your second day sounds like SOOO much fun! I'm really glad to hear that the AKL bus system is good--hadn't heard much about this :thumbsup2

Awesome Update :thumbsup2

Love how the do the Wake up Tinkerbelle now :)

Looks like you all had such a fun day

That fairy land looks like so much fun. I wish I could borrow a friend's daughter, so I could back there. I doubt my son would want to go back there :rotfl2:

That was a riot how Tim entertained everyone who was waiting to meet Aladdin and Jasmine.

That photo with dog from Up and Pluto.....Hilarious :lmao:

Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings

Your reports are always the best :wizard:

Great update! Love the pics of Luke and Tim in front of Walt and Mickey! Tim is such a riot, I'm sure you guys laugh all the time. Sounds like Luke is just like him too! :goodvibes How cool they let several kids wake up Tink, hopefully we can do that when we go in December. Were the girls in their 20's part of the group? I'm a little confused why they would try to beat out little kids to do this? :confused3 Oh well, so glad Luke and Lauren were able to do it, sounds very neat. :thumbsup2

Hey guys, thanks for all the great comments so far, I'll respond to each of them soon, but I wanted to see if any of u clicked on the videos I posted they are just 30 some seconds each but they have some pretty funny tim comments on them so I wanted you to click on them and check them out- the crystal palace ones... Enjoy : )
Lesley

Great update! So much to comment on!

Love the way they are waking up Tink now. So nice that more than one family can enjoy that now.

Love walking in early for CP. I wonder why they weren't letting you in ahead of time? I also didn't realize that there was so much construction going on in MK. At least they try to make them blend in.

It looks so hot there! I usually don't like being wet at the parks, but I would have been joining Tim and Luke in the Tiki water. I also haven't done the tree house in years and I'm happy to see I'm not missing much. :)

Teppan Edo looks awesome and the kids looked like they loved it.

 at the dogs meeting. Leave it to the boys to think that "meeting" up. :)

Hope Tim's stomach doesn't last into the next day.

Great updates. I'm really enjoying your TR. Your room view is so beautiful. Love the matching shirts and the pictures are great. I can see where Luke gets his humor from.:rotfl2: I love Lauren's poses.

I love when I have laugh out loud moments when I'm reading someone's trip report and let me tell you I had more than a few reading this last one:lmao: Luke is his father's son isn't he:thumbsup2

Jasmine is my DD's favorite princess, has been since she was a little girl, now she's 16 and let me tell you, she has pondered buying the adult Jasmine costume....she said if we're ever there during mnsshp she'll order it and wear it....somehow I know she will:rotfl2:

Can't wait until the next reviewpopcorn::

Love the picture of Tim and Luke in front of Mickey.
Every day should be started with a hug from Pooh.
Great Update, anxious for more:stitch:

Wow, you're only on day 2 and I can already tell this is an amazing trip. Next time you go to Disney World for 18 days, take me with you! haha

And that picture of Dug and Pluto is HILARIOUS. :rotfl::rotfl:
